About this cabin rental

Nestled right on an ocean cliff just off California's beautiful Highway 1 Stand on the deck as low tide reveals the rocks where abalone abound. Crashing of the surf is always on hand and steps down to the ocean are located just across the driveway. Whales may be seen during their annual migrations, and sea lions reside on two small islands just up the coast. Cabin 5 is rustic and cozy. With a full size sauna and Fire Pit. All rooms but one are built from redwood, and the home is completely furnished with bedding and linens, and including fireplace, forced air heating, free internet access, and DirectTV . Both bedrooms have wonderful white water views. The kitchen is small but functional with coffee maker, coffee grinder, stove, oven, toaster, refrigerator and microwave.The home is located two miles north of the small town of Gualala which has galleries, restaurants, gym, bookstore, and several spas. Five miles to the south is the eighteen hole Sea Ranch Golf Course. Other activities include kayaking on the Gualala River estuary or visiting the historic Point Arena Lighthouse located just ten miles to the north. Cap off your day by sitting on the deck with a glass of wine while watching the sun go down.

We were extremely impressed with this house. It was even better than the pictures! The view is just surreal- you are surrounded by the ocean which you can see from pretty much every room. The interior house itself is a bit dated, but still very clean and comfortable. The 2 bedrooms worked out great so our 1 year old could have his own room. And a big plus that it’s dog friendly- not a fenced in yard (& not a kid friendly deck), but still safe from the bluffs and lots of grass to play on. The location is great too- 5 min from Gualala and 15 min from Point Arena. And the owners are super friendly and hospitable. Will definitely be returning!

Simply put, Cabin 5 on the Bluff is the coolest place I've ever stayed. You can see the ocean from the living room, both bedrooms, the bathroom and the sauna. You can actually even see ocean waves while laying in bed!This was the third time I've stayed here and I will most definitely be back!

This was our chance to take a break, and this place did not disappoint. We found it comfortable and were just mesmerized with the views of the Pacific. The house had all the essentials we needed, the beds were comfortable, and the deck very spacious. We will definitely return.

We had an excellent stay at Cabin 5. The place was cozy and clean, and the views were amazing. We had a perfect view of the sunset. There is a nice deck and yard- it's not fenced but it was really easy to just keep our dog on a long line while we hung out outside. Very peaceful and tranquil getaway. Spoke with the host on the phone and he was super sweet and helpful. Would definitely want to come back again!

Really lovely home on the most beautiful bluff, just north of Sea Ranch in Gualala. Amazing views from almost every room, including the sauna! Richard and Shelley were very sweet and helpful during the booking process. Super dog friendly as well, and there was even firewood and fire starters!

The place could not have a better location - deck goes to the very edge of bluff. Extraordinary views, wonderful morning tea and coffee on the deck with equally magical sunsets from the chairs in the back yard. Perfect for our dog as the edges of the grounds are fenced and protected.

My goodness, I can’t begin to say what a lovely place this is. It was quite a drive to get to (for me) but so worth it. The ocean view was absolutely extraordinary - as was the friendly care of the owners, Shelley & Richard. The cabin was charming - and the main bedroom (with a wildly comfortable bed that had the open ocean view) and opened up to the deck, was a fantasy of a spot - especially as I was healing from a recent surgery. It just doesn’t get better than that. This was one of my favorite stays of all time - and I am delighted & grateful to have found it.

The view off the deck is what got our attention and led us to book Cabin 5 On the Bluff. It did not disappoint! This is the perfect place to stay with our 2 doggies. Richard and Shelley are wonderful hosts and provided us with all we needed. There are great dog beaches close by and fully stocked grocery stores in town. The beds are beyond comfortable! Combined with the sounds of the ocean and smell of the sea breeze, the nights were incredibly soothing. We will definitely be coming back!

Freakin’ LOVE the view OMG I was literally outside the whole time on the deck!!! We made smores almost every night at the fire pit and they had plenty of wood. The sauna: amazing and works well! Would definitely return!
