Wonderful pub in the centre of Castleton for an overnight stay en route to Edinburgh. Comfy room with all necessary amenities. Fab dinner in the cosy restaurant..served by lovely, friendly staff. A walk around the pretty village after was perfect before a last tipple in the bar..😊

Location was excellent, right in the heart of village. Room was very clean and comfortable. Evening meal tasty. I had lasagne, my husband pizza from the hut, neither of us left a morsel!
Our only thought was a lighter quilt in summer would be better. We slept on top of heavy quilt as a warm night.

The location was great and the bedrooms were lovely, the experience in the restaurant was below average, waiting staff didn’t listen, the food was cold and not well presented. Breakfast the following morning was excellent.
