An icon of central Lisbon's Alfama district , this 3 floor, 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house combines modern luxury with historic charm. Both bedrooms are en-suite with the top floor including an amazing private balcony overlooking the river. Fully refurbished in 2016 with A/C and heating on each level, wood and marble finishings and two high volume showers. The house is located just a short stroll from the Lisbon Cathedral, the Fado Museum, Sao Jorge Castle and the waterfront.
An independent townhouse located in the center of Lisbon, in the heart of Alfama district, the most historical and famous district of Lisbon. The home is walking distance from Baixa (Lisbon City Center), San Jorge Castle, the Santa Apolónia Train Station, the famous flea market and many other tourist attractions.
The house has three (3) floors, with two (2) bedrooms and two and half (2.5) bathrooms. There is also a private balcony with views of Alfama to the river. The home is equipped with heating and air conditioning throughout.
The first floor includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room with large sofa bed, and half bathroom. The second floor has a bedroom with double bed, private bathroom with shower. The top floor has a Queen size bed and a full bathroom with shower. On this floor there is a balcony with river view along with a desk / working nook.
The view is outstanding and you can actually hear Fado from the balcony during some evenings.
The house offers free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and cable channels.
Alfama is an excellent choice for travelers who are interested to know and live in a typical Lisbon neighborhood, walking in the city and getting to know all the historical center. There are all kinds of public transportation options nearby, including the famous Tram Electrico 28.
Guests have full access to the property. The three (3) floor property has living and sleeping space on the ground floor, bedroom with ensuite bathroom on 2nd floor and bedroom with ensuite bathroom and private balcony on 3rd floor.
Please note that the home is only accessible by foot, as the Alfama neighborhood is pedestrian only. Car access about 200m from the home.

An excellent home base while exploring Lisbon. A short walk to food and great entertainment in all directions. Big shout out to the Sao Rafael fado restaurant, just a 2 minute walk down the alley.
There three levels in the home, so this is not the place for any one of poor health. I
I would gladly revisit this property..

We loved our stay in Alfama. This property might not be for everyone, but if you love authentic local housing, low tourism, more local, colorful, unusual, European, then this is for you. This is a true local community. The housing is compact but has most everything you need. The location is right in the middle of the Alfama district with easy access to all parts of Lisbon, easy access to train and subway. We did make a mistake assuming we’d arrived to Santa Apolonia but we’d arrived to Rossi…and it was dark and late, but we had total comfort and safety. We took a cab to the Museo de Fado—great instructions from the host. We loved the access, the real, unspoiled location. Local means the area is perhaps not as clean as some would like, But it’s got great food, great atmosphere and we loved it. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had basic provisions (be sure to stop at the local store for a few things prior to arrival). We truly enjoyed being deep in the Alfama district. There’s not another experience like it!

We were not aware until final check-in instructions that cars cannot access the area; we were dropped two cobble-stoned hills away with all the luggage from the 5 weeks of golfing prior to our week in Lisbon. We would have chosen a different space if that was clear up front. That being said, we enjoyed staying in Alfama and the location was great. Unfortunately, a prior tenant left the place with many broken bits that the remote landlord was not aware of; about half the items were replaced but only on the 5th day of a 7 night stay....
