Alfama Fado Apartments

The apartment was clean, tidy, and very spacious! Central location in the heart of Alfama, but not too much uphill. The hosts were easy to reach and replied quickly to messages.

Very good location, you can walk out the door and start wandering the streets in the oldest district in Lisbon. The apartments are spacious and clean. Kitchen was well equipped and we really apprecitated having a washing machine.

We had two apartment spaces but we ended up not having enough beds to sleep on. Usually, my two girls can sleep on a sofa bed together but it was too small. The larger apartment was on the top floor and with the stairs being so steep it was not a good option for my parents and sister and brother. Maybe this is a booking problem, because I had the correct number of occupants entered into our search. But it was a little difficult to figure out what exactly we were getting with the beds listed, and in exactly which apartment they were set up in. A bedroll of some sort would have been great. Given all of the floor space, some kind of floor cushion would have solved the issue of bed space. We ended up making a bed using extra quilts and pillows on the floor. Be aware too that it is in the center of a lot of nightlife, so if you don't close the windows up, it can be very noisy. We left ours open to let night air in and just wore earplugs.
