Alfama Charming and Rustic

It was spacious and comfortable. The location of the property is great. Host ( Carlos ) is very helpful and responsive. Just on the route of tram no 28 (tram stop just 50 meters down the road) it was a great place to be. Still very close to walk anywhere in case you want to see Lisbon on foot.

Kitchen is very small but if you eat outside - it is not a problem. Taps are dripping in the kitchen and bathroom. It is again not a problem but I was worried about the amount of wasted water. Because of the shops downstairs which are open till midnight it was pretty loud and felt like there was someone fighting on the street for good two nights. However, on the other hand- it was convenient to have the shops downstairs. On Sunday an idiot neighbour opposite started to play loud techno music at 7am and continued till 11am when we moved out.

Appartement réalisé avec beaucoup de récupération, ce qui en fait son charme, mais aussi avec beaucoup de défauts (fenêtres très abîmées voir cassées ou ne fermant pas, robinets très capricieux - coulent, ferment mal, gestion difficile de la température de l’eau…), literie qui pourrait être changée (matelas en creux)

The location is amazing you are in center and walking distance of everything. Conveniently there are few good restaurants just below apartment and few convenience stores for basic snacks and fruits and veggies. It had plenty of blankets and towels all crispy clean. The heater worked very well in apartment and it got cozy.

It’s noisy, the tram goes till 10:30 pm and starts around 8ish in am. If you do not plan to spend much time here is perfect. It’s really really rustic, it has mild mildew smell, and some holes in walls are not just for the looks and design, they are truly there and should be fixed as well as ceiling in corner of main room that is crumbling. One of the window panels of balcony door was broken and fixed by blue plastic board and taped in and was pealing off. The windows and doors could use update as they were drafty, it would for sure fixed the noise level from the street. The bathroom has some mildew issues as it doesn’t have venting. Perhaps dehumidifier would help in property. One of the small bedroom had really uncomfortable small foldable bed that was propped up on wooden blocks. This should be updated if it’s advertised as additional sleeping area. The locks on the doors to apartment were jamming keys in at least once a day. One of the keys didn’t really work at all. This could be really cute and less mildew smelling place with just little more effort put in.
