A comfortable house in a great location for exploring Bath. With a few improvements, it could be exceptional.

Excellent location. Comfy beds. Very clean. Plenty of loo roll and toiletries.

Damp smell in some areas. Only 3 wine glasses. Toaster needs replacing.

Beautiful and perfectly located

The house itself is beautifully decorated. The furnishings are tasteful and comfortable, and the kitchen is extremely well stocked and equipped. It genuinely felt like a home from home. The location is perfect too.

There was very little not to like! The change to no parking permit was a bit of a bind, but nothing to do with the owners. Also, the outside area looked a little drab, but given that spring has barely started, that's no surprise.

Lovely Short Stay In Bath

The townhouse was comfortable, very tastefully decorated with modern renovations. It was perfect for a family with young adults although the steep stairs may be difficult for elderly or very young children. Coffee and tea were provided. The location was authentic and excellent within a short walk to all Bath’s attractions and restaurants. Highly recommend for families like ours !

Excellent stay

Really nice and comfortable place and very central. The christmas tree was a nice touch. Really good to have tea, coffee, and biscuits already there. It was ideal for myself and a group of friends to share a house together for the weekend.

The heating came on in the night and was very hot for my friend whose bed was right next to the radiator. It would be better if we could control the heating at night also.

Comfortable, spacious and clean pad to explore Bath

Really enjoyed our stay at Murphy's place - more than enough room for the 6 of us including in the two bathrooms. There is both a bath and a shower which is amazing for a townhouse. Kitchen is great on the lower floor with a courtyard outside to eat as well. Location is 11/10 taking only a short walk to all of Bath's attractions and also great for nights out.

There are 4 floors with the kitchen on the lowest (with a bathroom/shower) then living room on the 2nd, bedroom 1 and bathroom on 3rd and further bedrooms on 4th which may be a lot of stairs for a family/older holidaymakers but for 6 lively late teens it was absolutely fine. I didn't receive the key for the lockbox and called the owners to get it - was a little extra hassle (I'm certain of a tech anomaly being at fault not the owners) but didn't nothing to affect the overall stay!

Perfect location, house full of character

The location was perfect, we could easily walk into the centre and so many restaurants and cafes were nearby, the park and Royal Crescent were only a 5-10min walk away. The place has been refurbed since the photos advertising it were taken, it’s actually a lot more modern, and had all the facilities we needed. The beds were extremely comfy!

The parking is a little awkward as it’s a small terraced street and luck if you get a spot (obviously not the hosts fault). Just to warn it’s spread over 4 floors if you have anyone in your party who has trouble walking. The coffee in the kitchen was stale, it would have been nice to have a fresh tin or even some coffee pods to go in the machine that was provided.

smelt a bit damp the property stated 2 bathrooms which it did have but 1 was on the 1 st floor the other was in the basement which meant the use of stairs which because of the age of the property were very steep and narrow

A charming house, walking distance from everything!

We absolutely loved it.

The house was fab and we loved it so much. The beds and bedding where 5 star quality. We could not fault the accommodation at all. However, check in and check out times where very inconvenient for us due to our flight times so I would recommend getting a cleaning company who could turn the property around quicker so maybe a checkin at 1 :30 and check out at 11. One other very small issue was that I didn’t like having to strip the beds at the end of the stay. We really did have a great stay and we totally fell in love with Murphy’s Place.

Would recommend, lovely house

Great location, 10 minute walk to the Roman Baths. The property is split across 4 floors and the kids loved exploring all the hidden corners. The beds were comfy and the towels and linen were all really nice. Lots of books in each room which was a nice touch.

We felt it needed a deep clean. Cutlery and crockery was all a bit mucky and the draws and cupboards needed a clean. We didn’t use the dishwasher as it really needed a good clean too. The kids were covered in dust after playing hide and seek which wasn’t a big deal and they were hiding under beds etc. so to be expected to some degree. But just generally we felt it needed a bit of tlc when it came to cleanliness.

The parking for any further cars is a little tricky and the 2nd downstairs shower room floods a bit so we didn’t really get to use that 2nd shower

Photos were misleading. It appeared there were 2 sets of single rooms however it was a twin room and bunk bed room. Very damp bathroom in basement. Lots stairs- very deep

Silly things such as very confusing instructions about recycling the rubbish. The book said one thing and the emailed instructions received give slightly different instructions. Also couldn't get television in kitchen. A mirror in the bedroom with the bunks would be handy and also a main light in the bedroom with the single beds. Finally was not pleased about stripping the beds especially as it revealed stains on the double bed which would not have otherwise been seen. However would def recommend.

Exceptional

Very well presented with everything you need for a quality stay. The beds were soooo comfy, we arrived when there was a heat wave luckily we brought some fans to use but having some there already would be an added benefit! Location is also fabulous with Sainsbury’s 2 min walk away. Lovely kitchen with large table to accommodate everyone, huge fridge with freezer and two shower rooms (one also with lovely deep bath) one king size bedroom (could of done with full length mirror if being picky) on the first floor with main bathroom and one twin room lovely large and airy plus a small bedroom with bunk beds on third floor. Ground floor nice large entrance hall and lounge with large corner sofa. Lower ground floor beautiful dining kitchen and shower room. You will have a lovely stay there is an outside terrace with seating but it’s quite an enclosed yard and houses the bins

Neighbouring property windows within touching distance and with being hot and windows opened felt a touch too close but that can’t be avoided. Accommodation over 4 floors so be aware if small children. Outside space lacked appeal.

The house was lovely, had so many quirky features, beds were amazingly comfortable, fab location only ten minute walk to the centre. The host was absolutely fantastic, so helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend and definitely stay again.

Komfortabel, ruhig, zentral, bequem, historisch und für Jane Austen Fans ein perfekter Ort.

Die Ausstattung der Küche ließ nichts vermissen. Gefiltertes Wasser aus einem separaten Wasserhahn schmeckte sehr gut, ohne Clorgeschmack. Alle Geräte zum Kochen standen bereit. Der Gasherd ist sehr hochwertig und leicht zu bedienen, auch für ungeübte. Ein Supermarkt gleich in der Nähe mit großer Auswahl und langen Öffnungszeiten, war sehr komfortabel. Obwohl das Haus alt ist, ist es innen sehr schön. Alles war sehr sauber und es roch gut. Die Gartenterasse ist sehr großzügig und gemütlich. Die Umgebung war sehr ruhig und doch zentral. Auch eine Wärmflasche stand für die Bauchschmerzen meines Kindes bereit und Porridge war vorhanden, so dass es ihm schnell besser ging.
