During your stay you will have the entire place to yourselves but our Superhost, Chris is only a phone call away if you need anything at all!

The apartment is owned by Lizzie and Peter and hosted by Chris who takes care of the day to day management. Chris is based locally and always on hand to help.

Murphys House is in an ideal spot to enjoy all that Bath has to offer. You’ll find the Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, Pump Room Restaurant and The Rec just a 10-minute walk away, and the impressive Royal Crescent and Victoria Park are about a 15-minute walk from the apartment. A whole host of great shops and restaurants are also within walking distance, as well as the cinema and The Theatre Royal.

The house is only a 10-minute walk from Bath Spa train station, the main bus station is also only a 10-minute walk and has links to Bristol, Wells and Frome – perfect for day trips. Due to the central location, unfortunately the property doesn't come with an allocated space or permit. If you're looking for a car park, we would recommend Charlotte Street long-stay (postcode: BA1 2NE). There are always spaces available and it's monitored by cameras. The cost is currently £15 for 12 hours, £30 for 48 hours, but please double check this. The maximum stay is 7 days (you can pay for your parking at the machines or online at MI Permits website or app). Otherwise we would suggest coming by train, where possible.

What the Owner has to say:

"As frequent travellers we didn't want to create 'just another' short term letting so went all out when listing our home. We've kept some of our original artwork in the the property and fitted the beds with the best memory foam mattresses we could find. On the tech side we've put app enabled TV's in along with ultrafast broadband + turned the snug into a dedicated workspace or family friendly area depending on your needs. We've also installed a Lavazza coffee machine and left a libraries worth of books, both fiction and non, to ensure you've always got something to do. We raised our family here so you'll benefit from a Nest enabled thermostat + top of the line smoke and co2 alarms throughout + a high chair and cot if needed. Look carefully and you'll even find the hat Peter bought at a festival when he was trying to pretend he was still young enough to pull it off!

It was a great home and we loved living there, we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed getting it ready for you. If there's anything we can do to maximise your stay, just let us know."

We had a great stay and on the whole a fab experience. What stops it being a luxury property is just a few little touches that could be easily fixed:1. The peeling paintwork2. Mold on the kitchen wall3. The first floor bathroom door does not even shut never mind lock (which is missing)4. Some light fixtures bulbs don't work and batteries have ran out of clocks5. The outside area looks like it has not been cleaned or weeded this year. Plants are dying and someone previously had a BBQ which had not been swept up.One of the reasons we picked the property was the outside area as we had a 90 year old with us and so just wanted to chill in the evening but it was not a pleasant place to sit at all.All this could be put right really quickly and it just took the edge off our stay.

Cozy house, very quiet location & a short walk from the bustle of Roman baths & shops. Short walk to Royal Crescent. I didn’t realize that the house was spread over 4 floors—worked okay for our group (all able-bodied adults), but others may struggle with all the stairs. House was mostly clean, though a strong musty smell throughout and in particular on the garden level. Banisters and kitchen table were tacky to touch—probably humidity in the house. We appreciated the fans for the bedrooms; the upper floors got stuffy, even on relatively cool days. The owner was accommodating to check in request and easy to communicate with. Beds comfortable and fresh after long flight from US.

We really liked this place. We'd stay here again. The kitchen had all that we needed and we used it every day. The location is great. We parked at the carpark nearby with no problem and it was an easy walk to town even for our 80 year-old mom. The bunkbeds weren't all that comfortable for adults (we'd prefer a single bed in that room) but everything else was awesome. The place was spacious for the 5 of us.

This was a lovely place to stay, clean and well appointed. It does include 3 floors so if you are older that is something to consider. The kitchen and deck were wonderful too. So many things within walking distance. We definitely recommend this place.

We had a marvelous stay in this home. It is conveniently located within walking distance to all of the sights, restaurants, and grocery stores in Bath town center. We arrived by train and had no trouble walking to the house. After we rented a car, parking at a public lot was just a few minutes walk away. The house is charming and well appointed, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen was clean and there is a water filter built into the sink faucet. There is a lovely outdoor patio with seating adjacent to the kitchen. And, to my delight they have a full size washer AND dryer, which is uncommon! Check in was easy and directions were precise. Check out was also easy. We would love to stay again the next time we visit. One note on accessibility, the house is 4 floors, so there are stairs.

The house had every facility we needed for our group of us oldies their mum and two teenage girls who slept in bunk beds. Good value The house was lush and the beds were amazing There were some nice touches Loved the fact that there were toiletries and toilet rolls in abundance and a filter tap for water It was first time in Bath for our Canadian children and they loved the different floors and the furnishing Wi-Fi was brilliant and our hosts kept us informed of the key and entry to property
