Good value for money close to the gondola

V close to the gondola. We were able to find free parking (it’s chargeable by the river, but free on the opposite side, where the houses are) quite easily in this peak time (end December) every time we came back from shopping, but sometimes 4-5 mins away up the Stragite street, closer to Marie Antoinette. Good value for money for two adults and two kids. I think four adults can easily fit too. There are now two sofas and an armchair in the living room, the kids slept in the living room on the sofas. We read in the reviews that a sofa was very hard, we took some padded mattress covers, but didn’t need to use them, the sofas were absolutely fine. We, the adults, were in the bedroom which was also absolutely fine. One of the sofas and one armchair can be turned into beds, so in total, if I’m not mistaken, the living room can sleep four and the bedroom can sleep two, but we didn’t unfold that sofa or the armchair. They have a fridge with a freezer now which was a nice surprise (I think photos show an old fridge and only one sofa), so kiddos had ice creams galore. There is a cooker, an oven, a kettle, a toaster, a toastie maker and a Tchibo Cafissimo coffee machine - bring pods with you as I couldn’t find them in Lidl or Billa, only in the vastly overpriced local minimarkets. Or bring your own French press. There is a washing machine which we didn’t use. The microwave doesn’t spin and stops working quickly, but still warms things up a bit - I raised it with the host’s manager (he was in general quite responsive). Careful with the lift as it stopped working twice (with us inside once), but the host’s manager called maintenance and they fixed it quite quickly, within 20-30 mins. On the more poetic side, the view from the window over the mountains is to die for! (If you don’t look at the scary gondola queues haha).

A suggestion to the host to replace the microwave and maybe add a French press/cafetiere (they are quite cheap) as Tchibo Cafissimo pods are a rarity it seems. We should have brought our own French press really.

Two grownups cannot sleep on that outdated sofa bed. The balcony fence was shaky and dangerous to lean on.
