About this house rental

This renovated cottage is located in Pieve a Elici (Massarosa) with a breathtaking view of the lake and the sea. The property owns an olive grove and garden of 4000 m². On the ground floor you will find the living room with open fireplace and TV/DVD, a well-equipped kitchen, a covered veranda with large dining table and pizza oven, and 1 studio with two beds and the guest bathroom. Three steps down to a laundry room/storage. On the first floor you will find 2 bedrooms with king-size bed, TV and their own shower bath, both with sea view.
The top floor is a spacious suite with open fireplace, TV, king-size bed and a davenport. The bathroom offers shower and tub. Here you can set up a crib or cot.
20 m from the house you find the Infinitiy-pool (16 m x 4 m) with shower and a pergola with a large dining table, loungers and sun umbrellas.
A poolhouse (Aircondition)with double bed and showerbath can be rented in adition (charge 700 € per week in high season) The kitchen with fridge and coffee machine, a toilet and a outdoor-kitchen with gas barbecue is at your disposal.

Visited Florence, Pisa, Luca, Viraggio, and Colloddi, which were all interesting in their own different ways, but it was always nice to get back to "Top Cottage" where we could relax around the pool and admire the surrounding views. The house was extremely comfortable, well equipped with plenty of space - we didn't want to come back home! This family trip was to celebrate my 70th birthday with our 2 sons, 1 daughter-in-law, 2 grandchildren and 1 dog and we all fell in love with the place. The children particularly liked the pool and watching the "fire flies" at night - magical! Thank you so much Marie-Lou for letting us use your beautiful cottage.

We stayed in the villa with friends for a week and really enjoyed it. The view was phenomenal. You can relax very well at the great infinity pool - just like “la dolce vita”. But unfortunately we weren't able to use it much due to the weather. Everything you need was available in the villa just as described. The region around Lucca or Pisa can be reached quickly by car and invites you to linger. We would come again, but probably rather in spring or summer. Myself, my partner and our whippet had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Everything was catered for, so well stocked with everything you could possibly need and spotlessly clean. The garden is completely secure and our dog was in heaven! Cesarina is the property manager and is always available and nothing is too much trouble, not that we needed anything! The pool is beautiful, the best views from every window and you are surrounded by olive trees and the most friendly neighbours. We have already booked to go back!

In addition to enjoying the Villa and pool, we took many fun day trips to Lucca, Siena, Viareggio, Pisa, Florence, Volterra, Barga and Pietrasanta and visited more than a few wineries! This is an amazing place to stay - gorgeous house with lots of space and so well equipped - we had more than we needed. The hosts were very welcoming and the caretaker was always available to assist us with questions. The gardens are gorgeous only beat out by the infinity pool overlooking the sea in the distance. The only challenge is the windy road leading up to the house and you definitely need to have a car. However it was a week in heaven for 8 of us!

This is an amazing property. While the location is a bit up the hill from major roads it’s worth it for the view. The house was the best equipped house we have ever rented. Cesarina, the local manager was extremely helpful and available. All beds were comfortable and bedrooms beautiful. Kitchen extremely well equipped for the casual cook or the gourmet. We spent most of our time in the yard and by the amazing pool. Couldn’t get enough of the view. It is worth renting the little pool house as well for those long days in the water. We got out most days for easy trips to lucca, Pisa, Forte dei Marmi and a longer day in Florence. A lovely dinner in Pietrasanta (such a pretty little town) and shopped for groceries at Conad in Massarosa. The perfect holiday. Thank you for sharing your home.

The villa is gorgeous and has such a great view that you don't ever want to leave! This was the biggest problem during our stay. The pool is private, set apart from the house, and the view is also very dramatic. It was such a lovely and relaxed atmosphere, and close to Lucca and Pietrasanta (our fav). It's definitely a drive to get up to the house, but worth it for the view and privacy. The enormous master bedroom was a real treat. And the house is beautifully decorated with a ton of great art. You could actually walk around like in a gallery on each floor. We highly recommend and would stay again.

We had the most fantastic stay in this gorgeous property! The views from the pool are so amazing, & sunsets simply spectacular. It was hard to leave each day. The photos don't show how well designed, decorated & comfortable all the spaces are, the Master suite (top floor) is incredibly spacious & lovely. The other bedrooms were big & great, the indoor& outdoor kitchens are both excellent comfortable spaces, bathrooms are large and updated! We had one brief electrical outage incident but it was handled immediately by the home's caretaker Cesarina (a super sweet/kind and helpful person) and the owners: Bernard and Mary-Luise-such helpful & lovely people. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO properties and this one is truly one of the the most spectacular homes/locations! Mary-Luise made reservations for us and accommodated all of our questions & requests very quickly and thoroughly. We had a special Birthday/Anniversary dinner at a nearby restaurant called La Dogana-simply wonderful!! Outdoor setting, great service & food. Highly recommend it. Everything about our stay was seamlesss and smooth and we also had great weather. Each morning, we had coffee out in the yard overlooking the lakes/sea and later, the big kids played soccer & other games on the big grassy area above the pool. The little pool house w/fridge, towels, bathroom, floats etc was a big bonus!! Really cannot recommend this property in Tuscany area enough-drivable to lots of other places: Viareggio, Forte de Marmi, Pisa-& not too far from Cinque Terre etc... Really a Top 10 Vacation spot in every way! Thanks Villa Serena!

Your home is beautifully appointed with many details that are often missing from home rentals, extensive kitchen equipment, artwork, china, linens, and candles. And the large stack of beautiful tea towels, so wonderful! We set a beautiful table every night to go with our meals. We truly loved to cook in the outdoor pizza oven which was generously stocked with nice dry wood making it easy to start the fire within. What a treat!The house keeper was there to greet us and went through every aspect of the house upon our arrival, pointing out all the amenities, even down at the pool house. There are also information manuals for everything in the house and details about the area in general. During the day, one can see the lake and the Mediterranean and, at night, many sparkling lights and stars. One night, the entire family was enthralled with a spectacular lightning show over the sea and the hills to the south. Also, if one walks a short distance behind the house, there is a gorgeous view of a green valley and mountains. This view is also glimpsed from the upper staircase of the house. For the brave, there is an extremely scenic drive down into the valley, one lane only for two-way traffic at the top of the road. In one week, we were able to spend time at the pool, as well as visit Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, the Cinque Terre, and Forte dei Marmi. We wish we would have had a longer time there!The home itself is extremely well-cared for and tastefully decorated. Having rented a number of properties before, we were very impressed with the thoughtfulness of the owners and the property manager. We would highly recommend this property as well as the owners and the property manager. Hopefully, one day in the future, we will return!

We recently had a most enjoyable family stay at Villa Serena, punctuated by a lovely front yard view reaching out to the Mediterranean, plus a separate large pool, including an area for bar-b-quing fully equipped pool house. The top floor suite was most comfortable and spacious. There are plenty of supplies, linens, etc. plus the owners and on-site manager were always supportive, helpful, and communicative. The photos don't do justice to its charm and comfort. Not to be missed are the setting and view from the outdoor restaurant a short drive away in Gualdo and the scenic drive from the villa in the direction of Camaiore.

The photographs in the brochure were impressive, but if anything did not do justice to this wonderfully located property. The views are stunning, the facilities amazing, everything you could possibly need is provided. The rooms are spacious and clean. A bonus is the swimming pool which has an accompanying barbecue area and pool house containing a refrigerator, cooking utensils, cutlery plates etc., together with washing up facilities. There is even a toilet and shower down there! Being our 40th wedding anniversary we wanted somewhere special to spend a week with our family and this villa exceeded our expectations. What a nice surprise to find the home exceeded our expectations and was more beautiful that the photos showed. The views are magnificent ! This cottage home has been totally renovated and updated for comfort and convenience. While keeping the cottage charm, the beautiful surroundings and modern updates were key to a truly relaxing vacation. The home is centrally located for many day trips with easy access to the highway. The pool and beautiful gardens were so welcome at the end of a day sightseeing. The owners were very easy to work with from start to finish and the managers were so helpful and gracious. Two beautiful weeks at this lovely home

We looked at hundreds of homes for our Tuscan vacation, and settled on this house in the lovely area of Massarosa. The house is perfect - with a gorgeous yard, pool, pizza oven and outdoor eating areas. The inside is charming and beautifully decorated with linen sofas, asian artifacts and beautiful art. Each bedroom has a gorgeous bathroom. The owner has thought of absolutely everything - robes and slippers are provided, the drawers of the closets have scented sachets. The owners were available to us the entire time to answer questions and to make recommendations. From this house we were able to easily spend a day in the Cinque Terre, Bagna de Luca, Florence, Pisa and other areas of Tuscany. The town of Lucca is wonderful with beautiful shops, excellent food (make sure to go to Gigi) and the wall that we biked a few times. If you are a cyclist, Massarosa and the hillside provide a great location for avid cyclers. If you rent this house, do not miss the amazing experience of visiting Restaurant Doriano on the next hill town of Gualdo.

The perfect and most beautiful House in Tuscany! The pictures on this website do not do it justice; it was even more beautiful than we thought. We were a group of eight with small children, and had everything we needed...even the little poolhouse with extra bathroom, shower and coffee machine! The views are absolutely amazing from everywhere. The house is extremely well maintained and the property manager Giulia is a charm. Everything went very smoothly from the first contact with the owners, rental process, arrival and departure. This is a great place for kids because of the pool and the lawn where they can run and play soccer. You'll be amazed by the landscaping, just so beautiful! You will need a car, as with all country houses in Tuscany, you'll get there thru a long winding-road in the hills; all part of the experience! Our favourite restaurants were Le Meraviglie in Montemagno and Il Paradiso in Forte dei Marmi which is right on the beach...for a romantic lunch or dinner. Do visit Camaiore, a charming little town not too far. My only wish was to have stayed longer! Hope to be back someday!

Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen: das Anwesen ist großzügig angelegt und besitzt einen wunderbar gepflegten Garten mit einzigartigem, atemberaubendem weiten Blick über den Lago di Puccini bis zum Meer und in die Hügellandschaft über Olivenhaine. Toskana im wahrsten Sinn des Wortes. Einfach genießen und Ruhe tanken. Ein großzügiges Traumhaus in perfekter Hügellage, wenige Kilometer von Lucca, Pisa, Viareggio und Meer. Das Haus spiegelt Geschichte, Reisen und die Liebe zu Kunst der Eigentümer wieder. Sitzgruppen und lauschige Plätzchen auf allen Ebenen des Anwesens: ob unter der überdachten Terrasse, im Garten oder unten beim Pool, man findet immer ein Schatten- oder Sonnenplätzchen. Ein Highlight waren der Pizzaofen und der abendliche (Vogel)Besuch der Familie Wiedehopf. Sehr angenehmer, unkomplizierter Kontakt mit den Besitzern und herzliche Betreuung durch Ceccerina vor Ort. Ein weiteres Lieblingshaus unserer Familie (und davon gibt es nur eine Handvoll) Herzlichen Dank an Mary-Louise und Bernhard für diese Möglichkeit! :-) Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Noch nie habe ich mich in zwei Wochen so erholt. Das lag natürlich an verschiedenen Faktoren. Ein wesentlicher Faktor war das Haus und Anwesen. Sauber, grosszügig, alles mit sehr viel Stil und Geschmack ausgestattet. Der Pool sehr gross und sauber. Die Organisation vor Ort super, Kommunikation mit Cesarina und den Vermietern unkompliziert und schnell. Wir müssen nochmal kommen!

Schon die Anreise hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Wir wurden von der Haushälterin empfangen und in alles eingewiesen. Uns hat es in der Woche an nichts gefehlt. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet. Der Holzofen wurde mehrmals von uns zum Pizza machen benutzt. Wir würden alle jederzeit wieder kommen! Danke, dass wir so eine tolle Woche erleben durften.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt! Mary-Louise und Bernhard haben uns persönlich empfangen und herum geführt. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und so gut ausgestattet, dass es an nichts fehlt. Alles im Haus ist hochwertig und durchdacht. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und bieten alle einen wunderschönen Blick auf die Küste und die davor liegenden Seen und ein komplettes Bad dazu. Unsere Kinder (11 und 12) sind grosse Fans des Pools und der grossen Spielwiese (super geeignet für alle möglichen Ballspiele). Ein weiteres Highlight war der Pizzaofen, der von uns rege genutzt wurde. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

We had really good communication with the landlord/ key holder when arriving at the destination. The location of the house is on top of a hill, with a great freely view over the valley! The pool is nicely located a few steps down with plenty of space around it. We stayed at the place with 3 kids (youngest 7 years) and they all enjoyed the pool from early morning till late afternoon. The house itself is clean, spacious with lots of hangout places. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, which is great with teenagers. Airco for coolness and WiFi available. Grocery shopping requires a 15 min drive downhill to the nearest supermarket. It's quite a drive down, but thats what you get when you want magnificent view and a place to relax :) All and all for us a 5-star place (steep price but it was high season). Thanks for letting us stay!

Die Villa Serena liegt in traumhafter Hanglage mit Blick über die Versilia. Das Haus ist mit allem Komfort ausgestattet und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Wir, zwei Familien mit 5 Kindern, haben uns in der Villa Serena von Anfang sehr wohl gefühlt. Viele attraktive Ausflugsziele, wie die Cinque Terre, Pisa, Luca, Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Pietresanta etc. liegen in der Nähe. Die tolle Lage der Villa hat unsere Ferien zu einem gelungenen Mix aus Entspannung am Pool, Erkundungstouren, Shopping und Kulinarik gemacht. Der Kontakt zu den Vermietern war immer sehr angenehm. Wir haben im voraus viele Tipps erhalten.

Ja, die Villa Serena hält was sie verspricht. Die Infrastruktur sehr gut und mit qualitativ sehr guten Stücken, wie z.B. (Liegestühle, Sonnenschirme, Grill, ………usw,) bestückt. Wir fühlten uns wohl, wir haben eine unvergessliche Woche erlebt. Sehr geeignet für Familienferien!!!!

Die Villa liegt oberhalb von Massarosa und hat einen unvergleichlichen Blick auf die Versilia. Das Haus selber lässt keine Wünsche über. Es ist geschmackvoll bis ins letzte Detail eingerichtet und in einem top Zustand. Leider war es schon etwas zu kalt für den Pool, aber der Garten war trotzdem eine Wucht. Highlight für unsere Kinder war der Pizzaofen mit Holzfeuer. Der Kontakt zu den Vermietern war zu jeder Zeit freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Hausverwaltung war ebenfalls sehr sympathisch. Die Vermieter haben eine Liste mit empfehlenswerten Restaurants zur Verfügung gestellt, was sehr hilfreich war. Insgesamt ein Haus, in dem man sich einfach wohlfühlen kann. Wir können dieses Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Mein Mann und ich haben eine sehr erholsame Woche in dieser wunderschönen und perfekt gelegenen Villa verbracht. Das Haus ist aussergewönhlich gut ausgestattet und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Alles war für uns sehr gut hergerichtet. Der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin war jederzeit sehr angenehm. Wir können die Villa nur wärmstens empfehlen und hoffen irgendwann nochmal dort Urlaub machen zu können.

Das Haus liegt wunderschön mit einer tollen Aussicht. Zimmer sind top ausgestattet, es ist alles da, was das Herz begehrt. Mit fünf kindern hatten wir einen erholsamen Urlaub mit vielen Badetagen am Pool und Pizzaparty am Abend. Herzlichen Dank an die Vermieter für den unkomplizierten Ablauf.

Formidable séjour à 8 personnes (4 adultes et 4 ados )dans cette si confortable et si agréable maison . Tout à été parfaitement pensé pour profiter au mieux de chaque instant . Nous nous sommes bien amusés et régalés de nos pizzas cuite dans le four à bois et nos BBC party grâce à la cuisine extérieur pres de la piscine reste inoubliable .... encore merci pour l'accueil !
