About this villa rental
Historic / artistic villa dating back to 1614. Summer residence of ancient noble families of Lucca. Surrounded by a large park with numerous varieties of flowering and fruit trees. The lush bright green of dozens of Camellia trees, citrus trees, palm trees, banana trees, olive trees stands out. It is located in a dominant position on a small hill with a panoramic view of the mountains and the valley. A fresh and temperate healthy air constantly breathes from the sea which is a few km away.
The villa on 3 levels is easily accessible from the large avenue with gate and ancient frescoed arch and from the convenient shady parking area.
In the park there is an oval swimming pool surrounded by a well-equipped lawn with sun loungers, deck chairs, table and armchairs. the swimming pool is 12m long, 5m wide and 1,35m deep.
Also in the park there are 2 characteristic annexes: one, the ancient lemon house called Villa Arancio and the other the ancient farmer's house called Villa Olivo.
The 2 annexes can be rented either separately or jointly with the main villa. Each annex accommodates 4 people comfortably.
The interior of the Villa Marchiò has remained with the characteristics of the noble villas of the 1600s: large frescoed halls, spacious and bright bedrooms. The kitchen has also remained with its original structure with a large stone fireplace and charcoal stove, although in a separate area there is a more modern kitchen also equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine, in addition to the large fridge with super-freezer, gas stove and electric oven. The equipment is very good and abundant for lunches and dinners both indoors and outdoors. Upon request it is possible to have a local cook.
The entrance porch, with a large solid door is sometimes frescoed.
All floors are in original terracotta, exposed beams. Only the bathrooms are modern with washable tiles, one with a bathtub, two with a walk-in shower.
The decor is all with original antiques.
The services offered by the villa are: free use of the swimming pool, free unlimited WI FI, bed linen, towels and kitchen towels provided free of charge, parking in a private and shady area, customer support, free dogs and pets allowed, 3 baby beds provided free of charge. Consumption of electricity, water, gas and final cleaning are included in the price.
