About this house rental

Our self-catering cottages are situated adjacent to a peaceful wooded area and a restored historical structure and grounds. A visit to this site provides a memorable window on local history. The surrounding landscape provides stunning views of the Burren Hills (to the West) and Slieve Aughty Mountains (to the East).

On site is a children's play area, with swings, slides and hen run & wildflower meadow. Plans are for a clay oven to be built for Pizza making in the garden for 2014. One of the key features of the location is that visitors will genuinely feel that nature is a short walk away. The historic village of Ardrahan is conveniently located on the N18 between Galway City and Airport (20 minutes drive) and Shannon Airport (40 minutes drive). The coastal town of Kinvara is only a 10 minute drive away, and is famous for its traditional music all year round and its excellent choice of restaurants and pubs. The town plays host to the annual Cuckoo Fleadh music festival, and the Crinniu na mBád, during which you will see the famous Galway sailboats 'Hookers' gather in the bay in one of the biggest festivals in the West of Ireland.

Our self-catering accomodation provides an ideal base for day trips to the Aillwee Caves (30 kilometers), Bunratty Folk Park(30 Kilometers), Thor Ballylee ( 5 Kilometers), the Cliffs of Moher (40 Kilometers), Connemara, Galway City (18 Kilometers), and Ennis( 18 Kilometers).

The owner was very helpful in many ways so that was appreciated. The beds were comfortable and it was a good location. The place was nice but was listed as 2 bathrooms which it had, but the shower wasn't working in one which left 4 adults using one shower in a "wet floor" shower so it was always a mess. The first floor bathroom had no lighting by the sink so we all had to use the other bathroom for makeup, hair and shaving. Towels were awful. With a few tweaks it would be great.

Had cows and horses in area by the house. Short drive into town. Comfortable stay but unfortunately the upstairs shower not working. This was key for us as two couples, I was expecting two working showers. Also no light over mirror in the one bathroom.

The best part was visiting Ireland. The country was breathtaking and fast paced. The worst was the very narrow streets that people walked, rode bikes and sped on up to 120 kpr. Some of this roads were really one lane, and wow scared me. Our cottage was great! Karen and her family were so friendly, helpful and made us feel like instant family. We only scratched the surface of this country. I think everyone who can should come at least once

We used the accommodation as a starting point to explore North Clare and Galway city. The owner went out of her way to facilitate our awkward arrival time and made us feel very welcome.

We had a pleasant stay at this house. Our hostess Karen was excellent to work with and visit with. She was very gracious and knowledgeable of the area and places of interest. The home was peaceful and quite but close to everything we wanted to see. A most pleasurable experience and loved the house.

The accommodation is ideal if you are looking for peace and tranquility, in a beautiful setting. We are a family and we have spent some fantastic days, the house is beautiful and cozy and has everything. Karen is charming, she gives you all the information you need and the first day she gave us various foods for dinner and breakfast. It's been a pleasure meeting you Karen. See you soon.

the property was pleasant and host was helpful. Better set up for 4 than for 6 but acceptable. The shower set up could be better, one was not usable and the other was open to the bathroom so the water was all over the floor. With 6 of us having 2 working showers would be better.
