Barrymor Twin, Family and Double Room

Location fitted our tour route.

Host was away overnight and we had to contact them to gain entry. We were told that they had sent a message that same day via bookings about a key safe but as we were travelling we did not receive it. The house looked clean, but smelled of cats :-/ Our twin room was clean but beds were badly positioned so getting around the room was very awkward, especially at night to use the bathroom, having to navigate around the eaves and end of bed. The view over the 'garden' was actually over the back yard and extension, the door of which was left open for the coming and going of wandering cats (counted 5), and a pen for a massive Newfoundland and not forgetting the pug.

There was no breakfast. A quiet location outside of the village.

Breakfast would have been a nice add-on.

The room was clean, bright and a fair size.

There was no welcome or in person contact from the resident hosts although they were in the house. A phone number for queries was noted, with the Rules, in the room. A man I believe was a host was outside twice but never acknowledged me. (I could be wrong, but he was gardening etc..) My friends were staying at a distance, so as a solo traveler for one night arriving around 5:30pm, some advice on where to go for a light meal and a walk would have been appreciated. However, it felt very impersonal & cold. It was quite busy with what seemed to be long stay customers in the ajoining premises. The toiletries were inadequate. The mattress seemed to be from the budget range.
