NOT WHAT I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET BY OTHER REVIEWS

There was no view that I could see anyway, The double bed we stayed in broke my back would have been safer on the floor , the room was so cold.... location is a little off the tracks but not bad either.... we just slept and left early next morning. We never got to meet the host, but she sounded lovely on the phone

I had a good time

I liked that Helen's explanations made it easy for me to find the location of the hotel. A very nice landlady greeted me sincerely. Very clean and cozy room with a beautiful view from the window. Comfortable bed. Cozy, warm, comfortable. I am grateful. And I recommend the Barrymor Tween for backpackers and vacationers

I really like the setup of the place. Big and cosy estate in the middle of the nature. Lovely and kind hostess. Welcomed in the warm room with some small tokens of attention for the guest.

Calm and relaxed spot to stay, in a beautiful location.

No breakfast, but there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which was all I needed.

No tv in room. Short walk into town. But these were minor issues!

Cozy B&B!

Unfortunately we never met Helen, but we did get a warm welcome from Coco (the wolf dog). Judging by that lovely beastie, we can imagine her owner is also a pretty great woman! We liked the fact that Helen send us a message before we arrived and told us we could just grab our key, enter the room and make ourselves at home. The room was bigger than most! Everything was spotlessly clean, and the radiator was on when we arrived; which was a warm welcome (literally). Shower was nice and hot, we had fresh towels and some shampoos. Each of us had a reasonable sized bed, which was comfortable and made up with new linens and a small blanket to keep you warm. There was an option to make tea and coffee in the morning, which we liked.

Location was quite the drive on our first day in Ireland (especially after sunset). We had some trouble getting there, and arrived late.

Do Not Hesitate

Barrymor was a bit difficult to find; I would suggest driving there before your check-in. Helen did email me with directions, but the phone service not good and I did not receive her directions. In spite of that, the room was the most comfortable that we experienced during our 2 week road trip. The peace and quiet afforded us the best night of sleep that we had! To top it all off, we were greeted by a big, friendly ball of fur named, Coco! Thank you Helen!!!!
