Shop 1.5 km, supermarket 1.5 km, restaurant 1.2 km, bar 1.5 km, bakery 1.5 km, café 300 m, 20 minute walk to the centre, bus stop "Lauterbrunnen (by train)" 4.5 km, railway station "Wengen" 1.5 km. Cable car 1.5 km, chair lift 250 m, skisport facilities 1.5 km, slopes 250 m. Well-known lakes can easily be reached: Thunersee 13 km, Brienzersee 13 km. Please note: car-free holiday complex. Arrival via mountain railway. Additional accommodations can be booked. Arrival is only possible by train from Lauterbrunnen – 14 minutes driving time.

Large, open kitchen (oven, dishwasher, 4 ceramic glass hob hotplates, toaster, kettle, electric coffee machine, Capsules for coffee machine (Nespresso) extra, raclette grill, fondue Set (cheese)). Sep. WC. Boiler. On the lower ground floor: 1 room with 1 double bed (1 x 160 cm, length 200 cm). 1 room with 1 x 2 bunk beds (90 cm, length 200 cm). Shower/WC. Upper floor: 1 room with 1 double bed (1 x 160 cm, length 200 cm), bath/shower/WC. 1 room with 2 beds (90 cm, length 200 cm), shower/WC. 2 balconies, west facing position. Balcony furniture. Very beautiful view of the mountains and the valley. Facilities: washing machine, dryer, hair dryer, logs (extra). Internet (WiFi, free). Please note: non-smokers only. No TV.

Overall a great place to stay and will be looking to stay here again. If there is one criticism from me, it's the pillows are down and collapsed to basically flat as soon as your head is on it so could swapped out for something better but apart from that a lovely place to stay with great views.

Racer’s retreat was an excellent property. Very clean, with updated bathrooms and all the kitchen supplies you need (including multiple fondue pots). Check in and out was easy. The property is a bit of a walk from town. However, we enjoyed it every morning and evening, as it provides seclusion and the scenery is beautiful. We would definitely stay at the property again.

The location of the Racer’s Retreat is stunningly beautiful and the accomodations were very nice. Getting to the property from Wengen requires a short hike. It wasn’t a problem for us but hauling luggage can be problematic and it does become redundant along with getting to town for simple things inconvenient. The pros of this peoperty is that the scenery is stunning, accomodations newer and very nice. There was plenty of room and extra beds left for our group of 6. The cons are the management. If you need to arrive on Sunday be prepared for paying for Saturday. They cite their office being closed on Sunday so you can’t check in, but you can still arrive. Then it was policies don’t allow for it. In the end it makes no sense and I’m not sure they know why, just be prepared to pay for an extra day. This is something that they need to change and I must give them only 3 stars as a result. Otherwise...go and enjoy...we certainly did.

A glorious two weeks at Racer's Retreat

It is hard to write an accurate review that doesn't sound like a commercial; Racer's Retreat is that good! This property is simply delightful. Clean, well equipped and of a quality seen in few other rental properties. The chalet is a 25 minute walk from the railway station, a little less from the shops and restaurants. It is a wonderful walk. Incredible views over the valley, the lights of Wengen at night, and a lively stream that just begs to be photographed. Racer's edge provided the perfect Swiss experience for us. Fabulous views, waking to the sound of cow bells every morning, far enough from the village to feel that you are in your own alpine meadow, but close enough to make it easy to get to the station and the COOP. I cannot think of a more perfect place to spend a Swiss vacation. Strongly recommended.

Wir waren mit der Ferienwohnung Racer‘s Retreat im grossen und ganzen sehr zufrieden. Durch die Vermietung und dass nicht alle Mieter gleich gut Sorge tragen sieht man von Jahr zu Jahr eine gewisse Abnützung, zusammen gewürfeltes Geschirr usw.

Wir waren mit 2 Familien zum Wandern in Wengen. Das Reihenhaus mit einem Traumblick war optimal für uns. Durch die Anzahl der Bäder und Schlafzimmer gab es keine Berührungsprobleme. Lediglich der Esstisch ist für 8 Pers. etwas zu klein. Die Kinder hatten Spaß an der Küchentheke zu essen. Auch die Sauna wurde am Regentag genutzt. Alles sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet.
