Haleakamanu is a free-standing, two-story villa in Hanalei Bay Villas offering spectacular views of Hanalei Bay, the mountains of Hanalei Valley, and the lush tropical canopy below. This home provides the perfect balance of privacy, comfort, and natural beauty, all just steps from some of Kaua‘i’s most breathtaking beaches and trails.

The upper floor features beautiful views from a spacious living area, dining space, a well-equipped kitchen and open lanai. A convenient half-bath is also located on this level.

Downstairs, the master suite includes a queen bed, full bath, dressing area, and private lanai. The second bedroom features two twin beds and an adjacent bath with shower. Large windows and modern ceiling fans in each room bring the outdoors in, capturing the island’s light and breezes throughout the day.

From your front door, stroll across the street to the famous Bali Hai (Makana Peak) lookout for unforgettable sunsets, or enjoy nearby beaches such as Pu‘u Poa, Hideaways, and Hanalei Bay. Within a short drive, explore Ke‘e, Tunnels, and Lumaha‘i.

We had a wonderful week’s stay in this super well-equipped villa which has many more amenities than most vacation rentals we’ve visited in the islands over the years. It’s also situated in a fantastic, peaceful location which gives the feeling of being in the middle of the Kauai jungle, complete with wonderful bird song. In addition you have a beautiful view of the mountains and a lovely glimpse of Hanalei Bay in the distance. It’s also just across a small road from a popular gathering spot from which to see the perfect “Bali Hai” sunset view, and is walking distance to the gorgeous 1 Hotel, the (steep) trail down to Hideaways beach and Hideaways Pizza restaurant. The bathrooms are both newly remodeled, the kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed and the living/dining area were very comfortable. We spent most of our time on the decks to soak in that view and watch the rainbows and bird life. One caveat - you have to carry luggage down a steep flight of steps and up another one to enter the house, so just be aware!Our hosts Joe and Linda were communicative and helpful. We highly recommend this place for a real feel of the North Shore of Kauai.

It’s hard to go wrong in Kauai, but this house has a lovely view of the ocean, the tropical foliage, and the night sky, and is set back from the road, so it’s also quiet. It’s clearly been very well maintained, it’s well supplied, and the hosts were very accommodating. Wonderful place.

My brother and I stayed here with our spouses. This was a perfect spot since we like to cook our own meals. The kitchen was well equipped and the lanai made for a perfect setting to enjoy our meals. This condo is free standing and unlike others has a view of jungle, the bay, and mountains. We prefer this side of the island as it is more jungley and seemed less crowded than the West and South sides.

The cottage was perfect for my son and I. I was so comfortable and love everyminute of my stay. I arrived in the dark and had a bit of trouble seeing the house number and I ended up in the wrong parking spot because that was also hard to see in the dark. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints.

Great views of the bay right off of the balcony and simply walk across the street for great views of the sunset! The property was setback ~100ft away from the street, so it was very peaceful without any noise from the road to ruin your vacation. The property is 2 stories with the bedrooms downstairs and the common areas upstairs. Very secluded, when looking out onto the balcony felt like I was in a jungle, with a great deal of foliage and birds nearby. Was nicely appointed with all of the amenities, it even had a stereo system with several Hawaiian music CDs to get you in the mood. Great property, hope to return soon!

We loved our stay at Joe and Linda’s villa. It is lovely, well equipped, and beautifully located. It’s also a little more private than the other Hanalei Bay Villas because it’s the last one on the row. We wish we could stay longer. It can get quite hot inside in the afternoon, but we found extra fans to cool us down when we needed it. I’m soaking in one last magnificent view on the lanai as I write this review. So glorious!!!

Joe and Linda have a hidden gem on the North shore in Kauai. Rainbows across the bay every morning. Nice and quiet and yet close to everything you need. This place is perfect in every way and while staying here, we truly felt at home. We will definitely be back! Mahalo!

We stayed here for 4 nights. It's a place to chill and relax. Even though it rains awful lot, it's very restful. The house is in perfect order and very romantic! My husband is glad to have found the 1963 Dr.Who on one of the many streaming channels, which is a bonus of the stay.

The home is clean, bright, convenient, in a safe neighborhood, well equipped, and located right in the jungle so close to the ocean - an absolutely breathtaking setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Joe and Linda’s lovely home. We especially enjoyed being across the street from the ocean and being able to watch the beautiful sunsets over the Napali coast. The house had everything we needed. We walked to The Spot for breakfast most mornings. We took the Kauai Bus to and from Hanalei. We walked to Anini Beach via Wylie Beach. We went to a concert at Anaiou community center. There was so much to do and enjoy..

Great house for our week long stay in Kauai. I was concerned when we checked in about there not having air conditioning, but it cooled down a lot every evening and was very comfortable for sleeping. The owners are very helpful and responsive with any questions. I’ve already recommended this house to two other friends planning a trip to Kauai and we would stay there again.

Wonderful condo on the North shore. Well situated for exploring there. Great view of Hanalei Bay. Very comfortable with all the amenities. It accommodates a couple in the main bedroom and 1-2 additional smaller people (kids) in a room with 2 twin beds. There are stairs inside and out and so would not be ideal for people with mobility concerns. Perfect for my spouse and I. Hosts were responsive to a question but were otherwise laissez-faire. Near golf courses and 10 minutes from Hanalai Bay and town. Would be thrilled to return in the future.

We enjoyed staying in this condo because it is a beautiful home with beautiful views and also because it was clean, well-appointed, and welcoming. The hosts provided some great local suggestions, including helpful directions so we could find the home and parking spot in the dark and in our state of extreme jet lag. We loved the double lanais and the birds being cute against the backdrop of fruit trees, mountains, and ocean.

Beautiful peaceful house to stay at. The porch overlooking the scenery was very enjoyable and relaxing. Nice well equiped kitchen for all your cooking and reheating needs. The CD player with some local music was a small but very enjoyable addition for me.

We had an amazing stay and loved this place. The view of the trees and bay were serene and the house had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked and perfect for cooking, including spices, olive oil, and condiments. The bed was firm, but not too firm, which was great for those of us who can't sleep on really soft beds. The guidebook was very useful and we enjoyed being able to walk to the beach. While there is no A/C, the fans kept the place cool, especially in the evening. Would highly recommend and would love to stay there again!

This property is exactly as it was pictured! Spacious, clean, well- stocked and literally in the middle of the rainforest. Although very humid; the nights are totally manageable with the fans and the beautiful breeze. We went to both the hideaway beach (quite the trek but well worth it) and the other beach which is the black rock area. Amazing snorkeling. We will stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you to our hosts we are grateful for such a homey and spacious stay.

Joe and Linda own the perfect spot.... Surrounded by vegetation, set off the road, bathed in speckled light and nature sounds. We walked to Pu'u Poa and Kenomene beaches, spent the better part of the day watching the kids learn to body board at Kalihiwai, the perfect beach cradled against the northern coast where the river joins the ocean. We loved the Shaka guided tours app to explore Waimea Canyon and Na Pali, and Captain Andy's was a real trip highlight. The kitchen and living room had everything we possibly needed, and the home was a perfect landing for our family. Mahalo!
