About this villa rental

This lone-standing villa of 180 m² (1960 ft²) was renovated to the highest standards. Situated among organic olive groves on the hills above the city of Camaiore, you will enjoy an open view across the valley to the sea. The paved road leading to the house narrows in the last kilometre.Our other villa is called Casa Greta (# 750198) and stands at 50m.
The ground floor is comprised of the living room with open fireplace, 50" flatscreen SmartTV and DVD player, wireless high speed DSL connection, SONOS sound system , a professionally-equipped kitchen with dining table. Attached is the veranda with a sofa bed and a pull-out bed, en suitebathroom with shower and laundry room with washer and dryer. A covered pergola accommodates dining for up to 10 people. In addition, a gas BBQ and wooden grill at 5m from the house.
The upstairs consists of two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one with a shower and one with shower and bathtub with whirlpool. Fifteen meters from the main house is the dependance/pool house of 30m² ( 350 ft² ) with a double bedroom, en suite bathroom with shower, kitchenette and trellised patio.
The pool (12m x 4m) has a saline filtering system.
The property is fenced.
There is an EV wall box on the outside wall near the parking .
Our garden and olive groves are free of herbicides, pesticides and fertilisers .
We produce part of the electricity we need with our own photovoltaic system . Because our water is a precious commodity we
ask of our guests to make every effort to conserve.
Arrival time is on Saturday between 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Checkout time is 10:00 a.m.
Nearest grocery stores, pizzeria, restaurants and most conveniences are
available approximately 2 km from the property.
We, Peter and Astrid, are the proud owners and we are available for all your
questions and take personal care of your needs at your arrival. During your
stay we are also available by phone to answer your questions and help with
resolving any of your concerns.
A child's crib is available upon request.

WINTER MONTHS:
Casa Teresa is ideal for longer stays during the winter season. In-floor
heating throughout the house makes for a cozy and comfortable stay. A fireplace
stocked with firewood and a southwest orientation will add extra warmth for
romantic sunsets.

We spent a second week with friends at Peter’s home after our first visit in 2023 with our family (including two children). The property is stunning and worth every bit of the ascent up the hillside. We never visit the same place twice, until now. And we will likely break our rule again with a future visit. We love this property and Peter! Casa Teresa is a wonderful, impeccable property that--although on a narrow access road from main arteries--exceeded expectations. The house itself has every convenience and more, and felt increasingly like home every day of our 2 week stay. We have rented excellent properties all over Italy, but CT is unique for anticipating guests' every need. The house sets up really well, by the way, for friends and a family that might have a baby in tow. That's because the pool house is really a self-contained cottage separate from but close to the main house that, in our case, enabled our daughter and her husband and 6-month old baby to enjoy privacy when the baby needed to nap during the day. We also had a couple friends stay there before my daughter's family arrived--and our host ensured a complete house cleaning before the change-over. The owner/host Peter, however, was assuredly the best host we've ever met. Peter went above and beyond to help whenever needs arose. He quickly became a dear friend with whom we shared a couple of casual dinners, an impromptu tour of a foundry and sculpting studio (Peter himself is a marvelous sculptor) that is perhaps the best in the world, and more. The best part of travel is meeting people like Peter who will remain a friend forever. We had an absolutely great stay at a beautiful house and a generous, soulful host who--like other friends we maintain across the globe--represents the best part of travel.

The owner Peter is always quick to respond to all questions- villa is superb- villa is situated high on mountain, view is spectacular- road to villa is an experience, narrow at the end but manageable! We highly recommend eating at the Pizzeria La Pieve, food is amazing! Also highly recommend hiring chef Romina for a pasta making class and/or to cook dinner- Peter meets you at a church and guides you in to the villa and goes through the house with you- highly recommend this villa- village of Camaiore is nice- Lucca well worth a visit We would go back any day!

What an amazing property! Dramatic views and sunsets, pristine decor and a wonderful pool. Location was great in that we were able to easily access wine country, the beach, Florence, Lucca and Cinque Terre. Peter was also a great host and his recommended chef, Romina, was top notch. My only advice would be to rent a small car. The last part of the drive to/from the property is tight to say the least.

I’ve always dreamt of a Tuscan villa holiday and Casa Teresa was an excellent way to make this dream come true. The home is beautiful and very tastefully decorated, with all the expected amenities (eg, aircon) and an incredible view. The kitchen is a real chef’s kitchen which we really enjoyed, and I could spend days looking out into that view of the valley and the Mediterranean. The road to the house is a bit of a challenge but the view and the home’s aspect was well worth it! Peter was great as well and the overall experience was 5 star. We took advantage of a Cooking class with Chef Romina and would highly recommend this to anyone interested in Tuscan cooking. We will be back for sure.

Thank you Peter for a lovely stay in your home! We had such a wonderful week relaxing at your villa with incredible views. You are such a great host with wonderful recommendations. We enjoyed having Chef Romina come and make dinner for us 3 nights during our stay with pizza night, cooking class and dinner our last night with incredible sunset views every night. Each day we enjoyed relaxing at the villa, swimming and day tripping to Lucca for bike rides, boat ride at Cinqueterra, beach day to Forte dei Marmi, golf, etc. Thank you again for a wonderful stay, would highly recommend staying here!!

We are happy to report that this property is even better than the pictures! Every amenity is thoughtfully provided: organic soaps and shampoo, every kitchen gadget, window screens, comfortable and spacious sleeping spaces. Peter is a gracious host. Things to be aware of: although it is only 2km from a small village, the road is very steep, narrow and hilly, and our group didn’t feel comfortable walking it. If you have teenagers that want cafes or close shopping, they may be disappointed. Also, the fourth bedroom off the kitchen is lovely but not super private. We will be back!

We stayed at the house for two weeks. The property is stunning and the views magnificent. The decor of the house if very chic and it is clear that Peter, our host, has looked at every detail not only in terms of architecture, but also from a technological point of view. The place is so peaceful that you almost feel no need to leave at all to visit the many interesting places of interest around. Peter was extremely professional and looked after us very well also in terms of recommendations for places to go to and things to do in the area. The house is beautifully decorated and situated. The views are spectacular and the air conditioning worked great; important since temperatures while we were there were in the 35 /39 degree Celsius range. Peter is very responsive and gave us lots of well researched places to visit and dine at.

A wonderful house in the hills, with amazing views across the valley to the sea. The property is furnished to an extremely high standard, and was very well equipped. The pool was lovely, accessed by steps down through the tiered garden. The little pool house is equally well equipped with a small kitchenette. Our daughter and partner loved it ! This property is absolutely high end and perfect in every way. Peter was a wonderful host, answering all of my questions very quickly, even sending links to restaurants and activities in the area. If you have a chance get Chef Romina Ceragioli to do a dinner at Casa Teresa for you. She was awesome! Peter can put you in touch. The pictures of this property on line are beautiful but do not do it justice. The drive up the mountain is a bit tight at points but well worth it for the property and the view. Will not disappoint!

There are not enough good things we can say about Casa Teresa and the home Peter and Astrid have created for their guests. As many times before, our experience here was exceptional. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat that is central to everything with every modern convenience available combined with a view you won't forget, then this is the place for you. Staying at Casa Teresa was a dream. We spent almost every waking hour outside eating all our meals on the veranda, swimming in the pool or watching the breathtaking sunsets. The house was fully equipped with all your modern amenities yet still presenting an older, charming Tuscan villa feel. We traveled with our 3 small children, one 3 yr/old and our twins. Peter was more than accommodating ensuring we had cots set up for each as well as securing the stairs with a gate. There was literally not a worry in the world while staying at Casa Teresa. Peter even provided a full recommendation list of restaurants, things-to-do and attractions to see. I couldn’t recommend staying here more. It was perfection.

The home and property exceeded expectations. I opened the doors every morning and was greeted by the Tuscan Sun over the stunning valley. My husband and 12 year old twin boys spent a few full days here for R&R and then used it as a home base for day trips to Cinque Terre, Lucca, PIsa and the beach towns. Everything from the kitchen tools to the outdoor furniture are top quality. The owners are close by and take great pride in Casa Teresa. We also hired Chef Romina - she brought a meal on arrival day, cooked us two glorious dinners, and taught my family how to make pasta, gnocchi and red sauce. She is as delightful as the meals she prepares. We loved every minute of our week here.

Fantastic house, pool, pool house, grounds. Beautiful views. Relatively easy access by car to attractions. (The drive to/from the house is steep, narrow and winding -- a challenge for those not comfortable with Italian driving, perhaps, but it's worth it.) Just what we were looking for when we rented a villa in the Tuscan hills.

This is our second visit with Astrid and Peter (our wonderful hosts) . The first visit was about three years ago when we we stayed at Casa Greta with friends. Our most recent visit was a week ago (3-10 June 2017) and we stayed at Casa Teresa with my cousin and his wife. To begin with, both Casa Greta and Casa Teresa are the perfect villas for a" home away from home" experience in Western Tuscany. Everything is so wonderful and the setting and the views are just great. Its truly a magical place and both Peter and Astrid are there to make sure that everything is just right. The views from both Casa Greta and Casa Teresa are spectacular and Camaoire is very centrally located for visiting Viareggio, Lido di Camaoire, Pietrasanta and other locations as well. Its also the perfect location to just relax, and enjoy the views and the local culture in Camaoire. We definitely will return once again. Sande and John Desiderio

A place we won't forget!!

This is the second time we've stayed at Casa Teresa and both times have been absolutely magical! The property is exquisite, reminiscent of an old (but beautifully new and modern) farmhouse that we have always pictured of Tuscany and loved about Italian architecture. The inside decor fits perfectly with the outside aesthetics and all of the touches indicate how much love, care and time Peter and Astrid put into this home. The villa is completely stocked, full of anything you might need (especially the kitchen, which is a must for us) and if there is something extra you need, Peter and Astrid are always there to accommodate! The grounds are immaculate and the view is breathtaking. One of our favorite experiences was sitting at the beautiful farm table outside each morning with our latte in hand and taking in the view. We truly felt like we were in a home away from home, and were able to relax and enjoy all of the benefits this paradise has to offer. We also brought our maltipoo, Lola, and she had the best time playing with “The Pieve poodles” (Peter and Astrid’s adorable pack)! We love this hill so much and hope to continue making wonderful memories here for years to come! Thank you Peter and Astrid for always making this such a special time for us and a place we love to call home!

We had the most magnificent stay over Christmas and New Years at Casa Teresa. The villa exceeded our expectations with it’s beautiful interior and furnishings, a cook’s kitchen, immaculate grounds and spectacular views across the valley. The villa’s heated flooring was a treat too, especially in winter. Our days were spent lounging in the sun in the stunning gardens, reading books by the fire, hiking from the villa, drinking lots of local wine, eating at wonderful family-run restaurants, day tripping to Lucca, Cinque Terre and the very sweet neighbouring villages. The village itself, Pieve di Camaiore, is very charming and friendly. It’s also home to the best pizza we had over our month long Italian trip. Winter was a magical time to visit. The local villages are festive and almost tourist free. It made for a well-balanced trip, being both relaxing and adventurous. New Years Eve at the villa was a highlight! Perched at the top of the hill, we had the best outlook to watch the entire valley light up with fireworks for almost an hour. Now to the hosts, Astrid and Peter, thank you for making our stay so wonderful, from adding Christmas touches throughout the villa, wine on arrival, letting off fireworks with us on New Years Eve to very kindly taking us on a hike with the poodles. It was these extra touches and genuine kindness that made our trip even more special. Casa Teresa is a real gem. We very much felt at home here and would love to visit again.

We have stayed at Peter and Astrid's before and always enjoyed it. They are very meticulous about everything being just right. Much thought has gone into the layout of house, garden and pool. The house is fitted out to a very high standard with a catering quality kitchen and bathrooms featuring marble and high quality fittings. The air conditioning works very well. The whole space is flexible depending on the number of guests. The hillside is private but offers views over Camaiore to the sea. It's a wonderful place to relax. The drive up the windy roads is well worth it.

Well, it would not do the place justice to say it was beautiful. the whole area and villa was so much more and so relaxing. If they could have added more sunny days it could have been heaven. With Peter reaching out to a neighborhood chef Rominia it made our experience even better. from the large shower and tub in one room to the sparkling pool and lush greenery it was a slice of paradise for us. Peter even helped us talk to the local pharmacy to ensure we got what we needed. Only negative was our time was too short. The villa was as expected and more. The listing was accurate and did not disappoint. Looking forward to another stay here in the future and another great meal from the Chef.

Casa Teresa is a very special sanctuary, set high in the hills above the charming town of Camaiore. Owners Astrid & Peter have created a very beautiful space of 'rustic elegance' and have spared nothing in designing a space that we instantly felt at home in. Although we visited in winter, the infloor radiant heating and fireplace in the living room, provided a warm and cozy atmosphere for our stay. This is a wonderful spot for those with discerning taste and looking for something special....the Italian kitchen is well stocked with everything a cook could want, the beds and linens are very comfortable, the bathrooms and home were spotless. Peter and Astrid were extremely welcoming and helpful hosts and we heartily recommend this lovely home to anyone looking for a special experience of coastal Tuscany. We enjoyed a variety of day trips to Lucca, Pietrasanta, the Cinque Terra, and local Camaiore, only five minutes down the hill, offers a wide variety of food and services. The seafood in this region is fresh and superb and the vegetables fresh, even in winter. The only advice we offer is to rent a smaller size car for easier navigation of the winding road from town up to the villa. This is a very special place in a wonderful setting....peaceful yet not too remote. We loved it!

Casa Teresa was the perfect choice for our month in Tuscany. The house, and pool house, are well appointed, beautifully decorated, and have everything you would like or need - as if in your own home. The gourmet kitchen was a highlight (as we all enjoy cooking), as were our hosts Peter and Astrid. Their local knowledge, kindness and generosity made our experience at Casa Teresa truly memorable. October provided us with warm days and cool nights, beautiful for enjoying the pool and surrounding hills on foot or by car. Hiking, bicycling, swimming and visiting nearby towns (Lucca, Pisa, Carrara, and even Florence) were all very accessible from this location. Camaiore is a hidden gem, a true Tuscan town with friendly locals, rich culture and great festivals.

We spent an enchanted week at Villa Teresa. Astrid and Peter have created a truly tranquil experience with attention to detail that more than matched our expectations. After showing us around the villa and answering all our questions, they offered helpful hints for day trips, recommendations as to where to get the best fruits and vegetables, meat and fish. We got to meet their dogs Frida and Leyla, who made sure to visit on their own to receive lots of pets from us. From swimming laps in the pool each morning to savoring dinner at night under the pergola, each day was a gift. The garden provided herbs to spice up our cooking and flowers to dress up the table. For our first and last nights, Astrid and Peter arranged for Sylvia to cook two sumptuous meals for us. She was a delight and the food was delicious and abundant. Before we left, we got a tour of just completed Villa Greta next door. It was even more lavishly appointed inside and, hard to believe, it had more spectacular views than what we had been enjoying all week. What a place to kick back and relax! Our family of 5 stayed here from June 25th - July 2nd. The property is beautiful and the house itself has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Peter was so helpful and there at a moments notice. He sent us to a wonderful beach club where we had an amazing day soaking up the tuscan sun. Our two older daughters stayed in the pool house and were very comfortable. There is another house being finished on the property so it will be a great set up for two families traveling together. The view is amazing ! You are way up a small winding road. We are experienced driving in Italy but this could be intimidating for some. We cooked at home a few nights and that is when we had those few extra glasses of wine !! We would highly recommend this perfectly maintained property !

Our stay was absolutely magical and beautiful. Our hosts were genuine and gracious, thoughtful and extremely kind. They have a truly beautiful look at life and have created a home to share with others that is equally stunning. Every part of the home is reflected accurately in the pictures and the view of the mountain valley and sunsets will capture your hearts. We would return in a heart beat and encourage others to share in this beautiful sanctuary. The ability to use this home as a base and travel about the countryside make it a excellent "place to hang your hat" and enjoy the tranquility and beauty after a day of exploring; oh, the pool on a hot summer night is delightful!. We will all cherish our dinners created in the fabulous kitchen and sitting outside in candlelight around the large wood table reflecting on our day. Highly reccommend this property, from the inside out, this farmhouse and property was masterfully rennovated with artisans of all trades and is beautifully maintained. Beautuful marble bathrooms, with top of the line fixtures and appliances. The owners who are close by are there to meet your needs or to assist you when you are in need of anything. The location is secluded with great views of the valley and sea. Additioanlly it is central to many day trips, from Florence to Chinqua Terra. All this made for a great family vacation, in a great part of Italy.
