Just ok. Unpleasant for more than 2 people

Great location, close to cafes, co op supermarket and the haymarket tram/train station. Cooking Facilities, sink, bathroom all OK.

The dirty and dark entrance, it was pretty scary upon entering with a young baby. Very ghetto! be warned.... the living room in November too is FREEEEEZING!! the draft coming through the window brought goosebumps to us, even with the heating on full. If you're staying on the sofa bed it is really unpleasant. One of our family members had to wear layers of thermal clothing and woke up feeling damp. We wanted to sit and watch tv with our daughter but it was just too cold to sit in the living room. I wouldn't suggest this place for elderly people or young children. The heating is constantly going up and down and no toiletries provided.

Unfit for Booking.com - August 2024

Nothing - I left almost immediately after arriving at the property.

The access corridor is filthy. There is rubbish in the hall way. It is poorly lit; the light outside the flat does not work so I needed to use my phone torch to see the lock to access the flat. The general level of cleanliness in the flat is poor (see photos). There was quite a lot of dust as well as toothpaste marks (bedside table) and coffee rings (coffee table) on some surfaces. There is damp/mould in the bedroom on the plywood floor tiles, as well as the ceiling in the cupboard and on some of the blinds. The shower is well worn with significant limescale around the shower head. There is a smell of dirty water in the flat. I requested a refund from the owner and they refused citing the dirt in the flat is general wear and tear, and the access corridor isn’t managed by the flat owners. I was still charged the £50 cleaning fee despite not staying, and even more laughable given the state of the property. I definitely do not recommend staying here. All photos taken at the property.

The apartment and location were nice; however, the shared entryway left much to be desired.

The apartment is well furnished and located in a very nice area of Edinburgh. We had an easy time finding restaurants and walking to major attractions. I would recommend the apt for couples and groups of friends, but not families.

I wish I had known what was meant by a "traditional tenement." The shared entryway was sketchy; it was dirty, unfinished, and gave off a scary vibe. Additionally, the lockbox picture sent did not match the lockbox at the location. It might be worth it to update this information for future travelers. The living area had these huge, gorgeous windows that let in tons of light. Unfortunately, one of the window coverings was broken, so we had to get creative with a temporary fix so that our kids could sleep on the sofa bed without feeling like they were on display for the whole world to see.

Good budget friendly accomodation for a couple, or small family of 3.

Location was good. Walking distance to shops, tourist spots (including the castle and royal mile), and public transport. Minutes walk from the airport tram, but still tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Plenty of choice for cafes and restaurants near by as well including vegan and gluten free choices. Nicely presented inside and a well equiped apartment. Bed was a little soft but that was the only issue.

Excellent and comfortable stay

Excellent cosy location and comfortable stay for a family of four. Easy walking access to the city as well as to Haymarket train station. Several supermarkets nearby and a superb Italian restaurant Mia and coffee shop Chapter One. We parked the car conveniently close at JustPark. The owners were very helpful, the guestbook informative. A plus was the washing machine. All in all perfect!

The flat is lovely, everything you need is there. A few items need some tlc, e.g the blinds and toilet doorknob. However, was not a nuisance during our stay.

Excellent location, within walking distance to cafes, bars, shops and Edinburgh centre. Super clean and had everything we needed, great to have a bit more space than a hotel room when staying for a few days. Great communication from hosts. Pillows on the bed are amazing I am ordering some!

The entrance hall is very dark and run down on first impressions I was worried about what I had booked, but opening the door to the flat was totally different.. Clean and bright. Parking nearby is also an issue but this is made clear so I could make arrangements.
