On arrival, toilet, vanity unit and shower had not been cleaned. Food scraps on dining benches. Window left open so sand and rain had blown in on bedding. bedding was damp. Spent first hour of our stay cleaning the property!

We loved our stay at Martins Bay. The location is awesome. Kitchen facilities are good, the shower base is cracked (it was the same last year when we visited too), the shower drain is broken and the shower curtain shows mould. The duvee covers are due for laundering - a bit musty.

Our family usually camps at Martin's Bay every year, but this year we were looking for an alternative as the weather usually washes us out. This bach is perfect!! Love the location right on the beach. AND it is so well appointed - you really don't need to bring much with you. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to stay - we are looking forward to staying next year again!

My wife, our toddler, and two friends stayed this past weekend and had a great time. Location is unbeatable, with the beach right at your doorstep and the early morning sun shining through the windows to start the day. Appliances are modern. Only drawback was the cleanliness. We felt like the bedrooms (duvets, pillows, etc) hadn't been cleaned in a while. Shower hadn't been cleaned either. In any case, we loved the location and would happily come back again. We have been here on many occasion. The location is unique and we love the get away feel and elavated views and good old kiwi batch. We have got to know Graham on site Mgr. He is always obliging. The unit is due for a bit of a spring clean - black mould around base of shower and window trims in bed rooms lots of black mould building up. Not sure how often the duvet covers are cleaned, but definitely due again.

Really enjoyed our stay, you couldn't get closer to the beach. Although you take your own linens, the bach was well equipped with kitchen cutlery, crockery etc. If you're not self-catering, lots of wonderful eateries in Warkworth and Matakana, 20 minute drive away. A safe swimming beach and a perfect place to soak in the dawn sunrises. We had a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday, will definately be back.

The property was in an amazing location and was very easy to access the unit with my 92 year old mum. Was well resourced in the kitchen everything you could need. My only criticism would be that the second bedroom had no bedside lamps.

What a view! Sunrise and the welcoming sea right there, hard to beat. This property is neat and well-equipped. Our group of two families with young children had a lovely weekend stay. For future travellers, bear in mind there is a note that says: "water is not filtered so we would recommend boiling or bringing your own water during your stay". Useful to know before you arrive, if you so wish to bring water :)

You can’t beat the location of this property, unfortunately communication wasn’t great and we either had to wait a long time for responses or didn’t get them at all. Understand the owner/host was overseas but perhaps could have been managed better by someone who was available.
