Not a Manor, no Alpacas, more of a backpackers without the facilities.

The room was adequate, beds comfortable and clean. Shower very good, bathroom clean. A guest house, rooms only.

Kitchen inadequate for the amount of guests. Not clean, floor filthy, no sitting out areas that weren’t surrounded in be linen washing. Some staff smoked and hung about. Some semi permanent residents. No views, a long way out of anywhere.

Perfect stop over :)

We stayed here to break up a long drive and it was perfect for what we needed. We arrived about 9:30pm and the man that greeted us was super friendly and was so helpful! Spotlessly clean and perfect for a good nights sleep. There is communal kitchen and a couple of fridges in the communal areas to pop your food in too.

No one to be found to check me in, was helped by a guest. Beside table not cleaned, guest info book all in pieces, no top sheet on bed and cheap microfibre doona cover. Face washers need to be replaced.

Fantastic accomodation

Thank you very much for your understanding around our booking. We have visited Alpaca Manor before and enjoyed ourselves. The location is beautiful and the rooms are exceptionally clean. From this accommodation we went and did the coastal walk at Long Bay which is a great walk with fantastic views.

Lovely stay but let down by other guests

It was secluded and had its quiet moments, lovely sounds of nature and the room was nice. Shower pressure was great

Unfortunately other guests were loud, set an alarm off during the night burning popcorn, unable to clean up the kitchen which had food all over the surfaces and very sticky, this was every single day of our stay. Often smoking outside which then made inside smell and came through to our room if windows were open. A lot of dead insects all along the window sills and roof upstairs, ants and mosquitoes in the bedroom, we had bites within the first few nights.

Fine for an over-night base

Location was lovely and quiet. There are a couple of Alpaca's you can go and see. Communication with the accommodation was good.

In hindsight, this probably wasn't the best choice for a Wedding Anniversary. The accommoation is ok, clean & tidy. That's not trying to be critical, it's just not what I was after and the promise of the 'best room' didn't really live up to expectations. There were ants in the room, the air conditioning didn't work and some of the tv channels weren't available. We didn't bother raising it as we were only there one night, and mentioned to the premise afterwards.

The property was absolutely beautiful — clean, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for a getaway. The hosts were welcoming and made sure everything was comfortable. The room was spotless and well-equipped with everything we needed. It truly felt like home away from home.

Honestly, there wasn’t anything to dislike. Everything was beyond expectations — we only wish we could have stayed longer!

Clean and good value. The Alpacas a big disappointment and concern.

The location was very quite. Very clean. Lots of natural light. Great value for money for Auckland.

Concerned about the wellbeing of the alpacas. Ones teeth were very overgrown, They were constantly scratching (maybe ticks), no grass at all just stones, no bedding, wheelbarrow with old water was the only drinking vessel we could see. If you are called Alpaca Manor you need to prioritise your animals. We just left feeling sad. Also, there needed to be a mirror in the bedroom. We had a shared bathroom and if you needed a mirror to get ready you had to wait for someone to leave the bathroom. More signage leading to the property. Not a lot of equipment in the kitchen if you were actually using the facilities.

Perfect!!

We had a wonderful stay here. The location is very peaceful, yet not too far from Auckland, and the spacious surroundings allowed us to really enjoy nature. The shared spaces and kitchen were large and very easy to use, so even in the common areas we never felt cramped. The room was spotless, with a very well-thought-out layout that made it comfortable to spend time in. There were many useful amenities provided, which made our stay even more convenient. The host was truly attentive and responded quickly whenever we needed assistance. He is someone who works very hard for the comfort of his guests, and we really appreciated his warm hospitality. I would definitely love to book this place again on my next visit, and I would recommend it to both friends and family. I even felt that I could happily live here—it was that comfortable! Thank you very much for taking such good care of us during our stay.

There was mould on bathroom grout. TV did not work properly. Outdoor area technically as described but not really set up to use - there was a fridge next to the outdoor fireplace and a laundry set up on the deck adjacent. No mini fridge and no milk for coffee in the room. Would be great for a big group but we found as a parent and child there was a weird vibe.

Perfect place to stay overnight before an event.

Value for money for the area was exceptional. I assume I received a free upgrade as I’d booked a standard twin with a shared bathroom but had a double twin with my own bathroom which was amazing. Parking was also good and easy. I also enjoyed being able to see the alpacas.

GREAT GET AWAY

Absolutely Perfect Getaway! The Alpaca Manor is a hidden gem! Just far enough out of town to enjoy peace, quiet, and fresh country air yet still close enough for convenience. The rooms are immaculate, spacious, and beautifully presented. The highlight for me was the large shower with amazing water pressure so refreshing! Every detail was well thought out, making for an incredibly comfortable stay. Highly recommend for anyone needing a relaxing escape with a touch of luxury! 28 May 2025
