Great stay in a beautiful old property.

Lack of lift, but I completely understand why there isn’t one. Good exercise taking the suitcase upstairs but not for some people.

Historic villa which was comfortable and fun to stay in. The gardens are wonderful.

Kitchen stocked for residents to make their own breakfast. Location was perfect and near the train station.

Gracious hostess in an oasis of calm

Villa Jakobsbrunnen is an oasis of calm, grace and human warmth - yet in the middle of the town and close to all public transport. As the name suggests, this was a former patrician house in the middle of a park full of trees and sculptures. In the summer, the park must be a wonderful place to stroll around and enjoy the surroundings - or to sit and enjoy a book. Right after passing through the gates, Nicole, a perfect hostess, greeted me in front of the villa. She took the time to guide me through the B&B set-up that made my stay comfortable. As I was travelling for work and had a conference call, Nicole accommodated my request to arrive an hour earlier than foreseen. She made sure that I was well-settled in and walk me through the simple steps to connect to the secure wifi. My spacious room - far bigger and taller than in modern buildings - was up two flights of stairs and down a wide corridor. An individual bathroom with a shower is just outside the room. The kitchen offers a well-filled fridge and cupboard for breakfast. There are even kitchen utensils for those who want to make a warm meal. The villa is located five minutes off the main road and the main pedestrian town centre with its shops and restaurants. For those using public transport, the villa is convenient to get to either on foot (a15-minute walk) or on a bus (a three-minute ride).

The hostess was absolutely wonderful -- so helpful and friendly. I loved the shared kitchen, which was nicely stocked for breakfast or snacking. I didn't realize the bathroom was also shared, but as only women were on "my floor", it worked out just fine! This is a lovely property, very serene and nostalgic.

The only thing that might be improved is directions or signs to the main entrance. Also, there are no elevators. Not a problem for me, but might be for others.

I had a lovely overnight stay when I had back to back jobs in Winterthur. The hostess was delightful and provided organic food and drinks for the breakfast. It’s a beautiful building I enjoyed my stay.

Der Aufenthalt war gut und ich würde sofort wieder kommen.

Die Lage ist optimal gelegen. Nähe von der Altstadt, vom Bahnhof und es ist sehr ruhig was ich sehr zu schätzen wusste.

Zum Frühstück frisches Brot wäre super gewesen. Aber Tostbrot geht auch. Ich finde die Abwaschmaschine müsste man täglich starten.

Zentrumsnahe Stadtvilla mit wunderschönem Park

Gefallen · Die Gastgeber vermieten 4 Zimmer im 2. Stock einer separaten, über 200 Jahre alten Stadtvilla. Die Räume sind sauber und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, so dass man sich nach dem freundlichen Empfang schnell wie zu Hause fühlt. Es ist alles sehr unkompliziert. Man hat über das eigene Handy rund um die Uhr Zutritt. Kaffee und Tee stehen den ganzen Tag über zur Verfügung und zum Frühstück bedient man sich einfach selbst aus dem gefüllten Kühlschrank. Die Gastgeber legen sehr viel Wert auf Bio-Qualität. Auf der Etage hat es eine gut ausgestattete Küche, die man benützen darf und manchmal lernt man dort nette andere Gäste kennen. Im grossen, englisch angelegten Garten mit riesigen alten Bäumen und einem Weiher kann man neue Energie schöpfen. Was man wissen sollte: Das eigene Badezimmer ist vis-à-vis des Zimmers und der alte Holz-Fussboden des Flurs knarrt. Es hat weder TV noch Lift.

Das schöne Zimmer in der Villa liegt ruhig in einer grünen Oase mitten in der Stadt. Hervorragend geeignet um die Stadt zu erkunden. Einkaufs- und Verpflegungmöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Nähe. Das Frühstück kann man selber mit den bereitgestellten Sachen zubereiten - Kaffee und Tee auchvorhanden. Habe schon zum zweiten Mal in der Villa übernachtet und komme wieder!

Liebevoll eingerichtetes und gepflegtes B'n'B. Ich hatte ein grosses Zimmer mit Gartensicht, Küche kann mitbenützt werden und fürs Frühstück bedient man sich einfach selbst aus dem Kühlschrank. Einfach und unkompliziert. Das eigene Bad war vis-a-vis vom Zimmer und tiptop. Man fühlt sich wie in einer WG. Man darf im hauseigenen, wundervolle Garten / Park verweilen, wo es riesige, kraftvolle Bäume hat - total schön.

Ich hätte mir vielleicht noch ein paar frische Früchte fürs Frühstück gewünscht, aber sonst war wirklich alles top! Vielen Dank Nicole!
