Great overnight stay with my dog.

Amazing amenities for the dog. In the room there was a dog bed, food and water bowls, a brush and treats. Really great. Gilligan the mini Schnauzer loved it`

Great base for a short Winterthur stay, very stylish decor

Location in the old twine was great, room and hotel decor, was gorgeous (more like 5 star) and comfort of bed and linens was fabulous too - Rituals products were a nice surprise too.

A charming and comfortable stay in the heart of old town Winterthur

The best of the Hotel Krone is the room- it is spacious, well-appointed, has great light, and the bed is super comfortable. The bathroom was huge and I loved the very large rain shower head set up- it's nicer than what I have at home! Also loved the little touches like a chocolate on the bed every day and the provision of lots of handy things like a shoe horn, sewing kit, yoga mat, etc The location was amazing (right in the old town) and the room was so quiet (amazing windows!!)

The lobby is a bit perfunctory and I would say that the staff was unevenly friendly. This might be a Swiss thing, but I found it odd that lots of people don't speak any English there and also they don't greet you at breakfast. A small note that it would be nice to have a bit more fruit at breakfast.

Clean and comfortable rooms, super convenient location in the heart of Winterthur, with kind staff. Great breakfast selection and food was delicious.

Nothing really. The rooms with kitchen don't include cooking oil, spices, and dish detergent. Just a reminder in case you grab them if you plan to cook or wash dishes.

Great and comfortable hotel

In the centre of Winterthur- lovely rooms - quiet a comfy beds - modern bathroom and super breakfast . Highly recommend- a great place and friendly staff. We arrive late but an enveloppe was there for us and including a drink at the bar. A nice attention and overall a great find !

Great Location in the Heart of the Old Town

Hotel Krone is situated right in the heart of the old town within a short walk to the main railway station and many restaurants/cafe's. Our deluxe double was spacious, very clean, well presented and air-conditioned which was absolutely essential as the temperatures were in excess of 34 degrees each day of our three night stay, the public areas however were not. There was both a coffee machine and kettle with an ample supply of coffee and tea. Hotel Krone was the last hotel we stayed in during our five week stay in Switzerland and I would say that the breakfast rated as one of the poorest on offer. That said we would certainly stay at Hotel Krone Winterthur again as it was well situated and very clock to where we waned to be.

Sadly a good hotel was let down by the staff who were almost all grumpy, unsmiling, unfriendly and looked very unhappy. The only exception were the room cleaning staff and one young gentleman at the reception.

Good sized room, very comfortable bed, great location, excellent breakfast, very good value for money. Tea and coffee machine in the room was also much appreciated

Nothing. Unfortunately we were there during a festival so it was incredibly noisy. We were fortunate to have a quiet room but our friends were disturbed till 3 am. Also the underground car park was very expensive. 48ChF. Not the hotels fault tho.

AMAZING comfort, great shower but challenging parking...

The rooms are amazing and have GREAT air conditioning. This was the only hotel we stayed in Switzerland where the air conditioning actually worked well. The waterfall shower is amazing and so relaxing. The pillow selection and the bed are extremely comfortable and the blackout curtains really black out light.

The parking is expensive (40 CHF) and the parking garage is not at the same location as the hotel - although it is very near. Also, that whole area is considered "pedestrian" and you will find it hard to get into those streets to park in their garage. I would strongly recommend this hotel for anyone travelling without renting a car and who would prefer walking/using public transport.

Breakfast was great plenty of choice. Staff are wonderful very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Location is perfect, very central and only 5 minutes walk from station

This is a lovely, well run hotel.

The rooms are lovely, and our bathroom had a walk-in shower. The hotel is located in a walking area. There are lots of dining options close by. The staff at the hotel was very cordial and helpful.

Swiss style and comfort in a great location.

Quality of furnishings was excellent. It was a small room but very adequate for a solo traveller for two nights. Very comfortable, mini-bar and tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast was a perfect continental style but with some cooked options. Really excellent bread. Friendly and helpful staff.

Air -con was a bit difficult to manage but it may well have been my incompetence.

Luxury at the price

Totally luxurious rooms. Great value compared to Zurich but only 20 mins by train to Zurich. Super good bathroom. Great beds. Huge room. Centre of town.

Room temp was hot and couldn’t change aircon to cool. But I was given a fan which was great.

Great hotel, will stay again!

We struggled to get in to the building when we arrived (wish they had at least one overnight staff) but once that was achieved the management & staff were extremely apologetic and helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasant. The room was large, lots of outlets, the bed is one of the more comfortable we’ve ever had in a hotel, the food is top-quality, the area is central, and the pet package was the best we’ve ever seen! We are in Winterthur a couple times each year and we will definitely come back to this hotel.

Weekend getaway

One of our best hotel stays in recent years, our corner room had all the comfort we may have needed, including small details like umbrella, slippers, the way breakfast is presented, etc. We usually try to avoid staying in old buildings, but this one was clean and well equipped/maintained.

Small thing, I did not manage to cast to the smart TV for some reason.

I absolutely loved it. I told them my parents had a special celebration and they made a beautiful surprise. I also changed clothes for my civil wedding at the room. Absolutely great, staff awesome, comfortable room, and would highly recommend for anyone who stayed at Winterthur

I shall certainly stay again but may have to buy a blanket at a nearby store even for four nights.

The staff, the pleasant room, breakfast room, the convenient central location.

My only problem is the absence of blankets. They offer normal duvets and summer duvets. Even the latter were too warm despite the very efficient air conditioning.

Lovely staff, fantastic location. Clean, traveled with a 6 month infant and the hotel met all our families needs.

Unfortunately our air conditioning was broken, it was shortly after 10pm when we found out and there was nothing which could have been done, asked service staff to escalate the issue the management and we were informed that there is no night manager after 10pm. When travelling with an infant during a hot spell of weather I didn’t think this was good enough but in fairness to the helpful service staff an extra fan was given to us. It was the only issue we had with our stay.
