The only drawback is that while it's in an excellent location, it's on a street that is often clogged with diesel exhaust spewing buses.

A nice hotel with a beautiful garden and friendly staff

Beautifully maintained garden, bright colours and layout. Lovely style of bathrooms and tiles. Good showers and pressure. Welcoming staff day and night.

Poor ironing board that damaged clothes. Initially overcharged for laundry that was only rectified because I had asked the day before to see the weight.

Colorful spaces filled with great pottery, beautiful plants & private spaces. Secret gem!

Charming older property with murals and a jungle of plants -many in the fabulous pots of Dolores Parras. Colorful, rooms are individually decoated. Quieter than one would think! Our bed was sleepable for an older bed. The pillows were flat out uncomfortable. Lighting could be better inside. The pocket patio for our little courtyard of rooms let us sit outside in locally made chairs. The staff were patient, kind and helpful! Cafe was adequate for breakfast innut within doors are better places on the same street. I recommend getting out and eating everywhere you can!! Diet before Oaxaca if you need to! We would go back to Hotel Las Golondrinas.

Breakfast could have been lots better. Get new beds and pillows. Even if it is one room every two months.

Charming oasis filled with gardens and patios close to Santo Domingo and the Zocalo

The hotel is situated very close to Santo Domingo church and the Zocalo, about a 5 minute walk either direction. There are cafes, restaurants and galleries located in the local surroundings. The hotel offers and very tasty and typical Oaxacan style breakfast. The hotel is a restored complex of rooms, patios and gardens furnished with local ceramics and painted walls. Wifi available and accommodations were comfortable. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable of the area.

Nothing really, as with old adobe and cement buildings wifi can be affected. I our case is was sufficient for our use.

Gorgeous, lush garden and plants with vibrantly painted property makes for a warm and cozy atmosphere. Family who runs it is friendly and laid back. Good value. 5 minute walk from tourist highlights.

A wonderful time all-around.

Excellent location---everything one wants to see in the city of Oaxaca is within 15 minutes walk. The property itself is absolutely lovely. Beautiful courtyard gardens throughout. Very secure. Cleanliness = A+. Guests can have a homemade breakfast in a beautiful outdoor setting, for about $10.00 US. The front desk staff speaks excellent English. They will also arrange for a taxi pick up at the hotel for day of departure. Highly, highly recommend.

Heavenly oasis in a fabulous location

The garden really is a heavenly oasis. We couldn’t believe how quiet and sedate the property was, despite its close proximity to lots of happening destinations. The hotel has a very sincere staff who clearly cares about the grounds and the guests.

The bed was a little firm for my liking, though I did adjust after a few nights. Also I did find the mosquitoes to be a nuisance (there were only a few) and I wish all the windows had screens.

Lush and quiet getaway in the heart of the city!

Absolutely gorgeous and a calm serene area to relax between hitting the city streets. Super well maintained and the rooms were unique and authentic. I loved that they offered filtered water in the lobby area.

Hotel Golondrias was an excellent place to stay for my first trip to Oaxaca. The staff was helpful, the room was super clean, colorful and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty. It was so easy to just head out the front door every day and explore the city.

value for money - price was high at the time due to the Guelegetza festival - usual rates we saw on the wall in reception were 1/3 of what we paid. but worth going to Oaxaca for the festival, such a great experience! would have been even better if it came with breakfast included.

The hotel was gorgeous with beautiful flowers all around and many places to sit and enjoy watching the birds (including hummingbirds). The location was perfect. I was able to walk to everything of interest in Centro. Also the WiFi in room DD was excellent! I was able to hold two hour zoom meetings with ease. The staff was excellent from the first “welcome” to the last “goodbye”. All staff members were very friendly and beyond helpful. The cleaning staff did a great job with the rooms. My room was spotless.

A little haven in Oaxaca's downtown, close enough to walk everywhere and far enough to enjoy quiet.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. My first impression is the beautiful gardens and decor that look like a small village. Breakfast was delicious and the menu presented many choices, sensitive to our dietary needs. The Internet connection was reliable and strong. The air conditioner was a welcome feature on hot nights. The staff went above and beyond. They accommodated our special needs of storing our luggage, refrigerating a medicine I was carrying, and finally they tracked me down and shipped some equipment I had inadvertently left behind with an overnight carrier. For this I am eternally grateful. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Oaxaca.

There isn't much I would change about this hotel. I would have liked to have a shelf inside the shower to put soap and shampoo, and an absorbent rug outside the shower when stepping out of the shower. Beyond that, I have no complaints!

As we all know, the selection of a hotel is important, you want comfort, cleanliness, availability of staff and proximity to the areas of interest. After reviewing several hotels in the area what caught my attention were the photos of the patio at Hotel Las Golondrinas. There are many inviting areas to sit down and relax, surrounded by plants and pottery, it is easy to sit down and read a book or listen to music. The staff is very friendly and accommodating! There is filtered water where you can refill your water bottle in the lobby and a small espresso machine. Some of the rooms have AC, if you prefer to sleep with the windows open, there are screens to keep out the mosquitoes. The hotel is walking distance to the Iglesia Santo Domingo, parque etnobotánico and many coffee shops
