Worst mistake I ever made while travelling

The bed was comfortable

Due to a small amount of blood on the sheets the staff demanded 500 pesos and locked us in the building. I have PTSD and the locked door and extreme aggression from the staff was truly shocking. Even after I paid him he pulled a knife out and said "this is mexico, we will kill you". Which is a shame because I love Mexico and Mexican people, and this horrific encounter does not represent the country at all. I never expected my PTSD to be triggered by checking out of a hotel. The hotel may respond that I became angry too and this is true, but only after this set of triggers. The woman I was travelling with was extremely upset and the incident affected our ability to form a new relationship for the whole next day. We already felt the room was overpriced. All in all I paid £100 to experience severe PTSD symptoms, have my woman terrified by a knife wielding maniac and have the next few days with a shadow cast over them. Please avoid.

We stayed only 2 days, so it was wonderful.

It is a family run hotel, small but comfortable and a fantastic location. The staff is very friendly and helpful; upstairs there is a terrace, where one can relax; we had a great stay.

A quiet and cozy vacation

The beds were big and comfortable and I really enjoyed the styling touches of the rooms.

There were some renovations happening so I had to switch rooms due to electrical concerns with the air conditioning. I also had a few mosquitos in the room.

Good location in Oaxaca

Really good location close to the centro, and bars/restaurants and the markets. There is a great bakery/cafe nearby called Boulenc. Helpful staff, really happy to assist with booking taxis / providing cleaning, refilling water in the room etc. Wifi and aircon worked well! The terrace upstairs was nice

Room was called ‘city view’ which it wasn’t, it had 1 small frosted window with no view. Safe didn’t work at all, staff kindly tried to help but in the end there was nothing that could be done, it was broken. Bed was particularly hard and had 4 thin blankets which was fine temperature wise but just made it a bit uncomfortable/ messy. Smells are not great in the bathroom/shower

Exceptional

Everything was perfect and as described on the listing. Staff were very helpful and spoke good english. The room was clean and the terrace was lovely.

Unfortunately the room didn't come with a fridge. It was not listed so we didn't expect to have one, but it would be a nice addition to keep our drinks cold.

Comfort place and people to enjoy the city.

The zone is very close to downtown and other interesting places. Night crew, Luis & Carolina were so kind, and help us when we were reviewing what to do around the city and diferent places next to Oaxaca.

Windows beside the main door in the room permits a lot of light from outside corridor. Room #6 has a little furniture for the clothe.

Ok but not what we expected!

The staff is very friendly!

It’s not at all like advertised. The pictures are misleading! Upon our booking it said it was a room with a view and private balcony, but in reality there was only a tiny milk glass window toward the patio and the door gave way to the same common patio. It would be fine if the description is so that you know what to expect. The staff is very friendly though and the location is very good!

The staff at this hotel is exceptional, everyone was friendly, kind and helpful. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and protected here. I would stay here again and recommend it.

The walls were thin you can hear the toilet flush from the other room next door.

Nice, good location, you get what you pay.

The location was really good, it was close to the Sant Domingo church and near the center of the city. But it was also further from the zocalo so you couldn't hear the noises at night.

The bathroom and the shower were connected but it wasn't easy to go through and it was really small. The pillows were uncomfortable and really thin. The staff weren't paying attention when you get to the hotel since it was locked with a key, it takes some time for them to notice you outside.
