Peaceful location, ideal if you want some downtime. A proper fridge and a microwave is handy. Comfortable room and plenty space to park.
Not easy to find the unit in the dark. Another couple arriving at the same time had the same problem. Once inside however the room more than made up for it.

Lovely location, dog friendly , beautiful property and the hosts were very nice, friendly people. We stayed one night as we were there for a family funeral and it was excellent value for money. The room had everything we needed including a bathroom and it was on the ground floor meaning that if one of the dogs had needed to go out in the night, it would have been easy. The country park Alyn Waters was not far away and perfect for walking the dogs before travelling on to see the family in Northop Hall.

Very helpful host, having to sort out Booking.com's failure to pass on the booking! Would definitely book again.
About this property, nothing but due to Booking.com's failure to pass on the booking I now make it a rule to make contact with the host(s) once booking is confirmed!

Quiet location, clean, great facilities and presentable.
Knowing the hosts were around and not too private in terms of us keeping our voices down, and generally keeping noise to a minimum for fear of disturbing hosts.

We stayed for 2 nights with our pet Labrador over bonfire night. The main house, the grounds and the view are truly stunning!! It’s a quiet and secluded property and perfect if you want to be out of the way but also within driving distance of lots of attractions and places to go. There were 2 horses when we arrived at the fence ready to greet us to the property. We stayed in the room with the balcony which is attached to the main house. It’s completely private from the main house by a locked door and access is via a wooden staircase to the right of the main house which was a little slippery when it rained. The hosts were quiet and we barely heard them even though the room was attached to their house, generally much quieter than a hotel. The property itself is located some distance down a single track road but we loved that and it’s so characteristic of wales. The spooky drives down the single track road into Rossett is exactly our kind of thing. The Alyn at Rossett has gorgeous food and friendly staff and is dog friendly. Additionally, the Rackery farm shop was great for lunch and also dog friendly. Acton park is definitely a place to visit if you have dogs or enjoy walks. The host, Menna, was really friendly and gave some great recommendations for places to go. We also met the hosts daughter on the first day who was super kind and helpful. The room was a nice size with a large TV, sofa, mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities, double bed and large wardrobe. The bathroom was really nice and clean. The high pointed ceilings give a real Nordic vibe and the workmanship that’s gone into the home is incredible! We will definitely be returning as 2 nights wasn’t enough for us to see and do everything that is on offer. This is definitely a property you want to visit!!
We found nothing bad to say about our stay.

The peaceful, quiet setting, attention to detail and facilities, parking, directions, cleanliness - the list is endless. An extra bonus was opening the curtains in the morning to see the beautiful horses nearby. Menna went over and above kindly offering and supplying me a jug of fresh milk.
Could not fault the place.

Location and view were amazing!
Towels too small and smelt musty.
Dog downstairs barking constantly.

A beautiful area, gorgeous views with the sound of birds singing and friendly horses in the paddock. Off road parking, comfortable room with fridge provided which was helpful. I liked the fact that there are varied sized properties to stay in and shall be recommending to family that want to visit the area.
The only thing i would suggest is having a different key code for each property. Having been unwell with a migraine all day i mistook the wrong property as the one i was checking in to, i managed to obtain the key and pop some of our items in that property. Our items had to be moved while we were visiting family but i felt that this would have been avoided if the key code was different to the one i was given on my check in details, i’d have then been alerted once the code wasn’t accepted and queried it there and then. The heating was also really high and took a long time for the room to cool down once i had selected a lower temperature. We stayed in the double en suite downstairs room and it felt like we had to be careful with our noise level as there was only an internal door separating us from the main house.

Very cozy and beautiful. Amazing countryside retreat which is quiet and green. Honestly, we loved every second! The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming, they let us stay with our cat and they normally don’t let cats in.

We absolutely loved our stay at Oak Mead.
We were greeted by Menna, and she couldn't have been any nicer.
The cottage was spacious, spotless, and comfortable throughout. It had everything that we needed.
It was the perfect setting, quiet, with stunning views and was within a short drive of all the places we wanted to see.
We will definitely return.
Highly recommend.

Lovely self-contained room with bathroom. Beautiful views from full-length windows over the paddock and surrounding countryside. Room was clean, comfortable and had a kettle and microwave and small fridge. Small balcony with chairs and table was perfect for the end of the day. Hosts very welcoming and kind. A flight of stairs up to the room were easy to navigate.
Easy to find by Sat Nav and plenty of parking.

Lovely setting in gorgeous countryside.
Couple of horses in the paddock!
Lovely looking property with a lot of charm.
Large open plan kitchen /living area.
Big tv.
A hobbit house at the end of the garden!
Table and chairs to sit on outside if the weather nice.
Parking space.
No WiFi which was problematic as no phone signal either. Needs a WiFi extender from the main house which is really close by.
Leaking toilet which made the floor wet. Owners must be aware as there was silicon around base.
One hand towel between three of us and the bath towels were small and not great quality.
No wardrobe space in the twin bedroom.
Didn’t like the electric box just above twin bed, odd location.
The kitchen and bathroom a bit tired really and the place was a bit musty smelling but it’s an old property.

Perfect. A beautiful location, super peaceful, but close enough to local shops/pubs when needed. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you 😊

Lovely, quiet and rural location. Private outside seating area. On site parking. Good, quick and clear online communications with hosts. Fridge, microwave and crockery/cutlery provided.
Bathroom is a wet-room but is small so you have to be careful when using shower. Bed is comfortable but iron headboard isn’t. Main ceiling light hangs very low in middle of room so anyone of medium height or greater has to remember to avoid it. Would be nice if checkout was a bit later than 10 am ( but of course we were aware of this when booking ). Likewise with 4 pm check in although hosts allowed us to check in early at 3 pm. But nothing that would stop us booking again.

Set down a just but accessible country lane, with chocolate box image, Oak Mead oozes quality. It could be described as shabby chic but I definitely saw nothing shabby about it. The Garden Balcony room I stayed in was spotlessly clean throughout with a high attention to detail. Reached by its own little wooden staircase and entering from the large private balcony you feel like you’re in your own tree house , but a 5 star one. I sadly had only a one night stay , but will certainly return

Menna and Tom are both lovely. Menna greeted us on arrival & showed us round with a very warm welcome. She was able to advise on local knowledge and attractions.
Such warm, kind hosts.
Beautiful location, beautiful views, so nice and quiet with lots of birdsong.
We had the ground floor of the coach house, beautifully decorated out. So comfortable and again, lovely views when simply chilling at the property.
We found a convenient walk with our dog close to the property too.
We stayed three nights but will stay longer next time.

Nothing at all beautifully finished.

Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. The owner greeted us in a very friendly manner. The accommodation was good value and adequate for a 2 night stay. Everything basic provided for 2 people. However we didn't realise there were some dishwashing items in a bedside drawer until we were leaving. I had managed and bought some kitchen towels to improvise.
It is in quite an isolated position with narrow lanes which may not suit some drivers.
Would stay again for a short visit.
There wasn't a great deal of space to prepare food/snacks if needed being self catering.
The large mirror was situated on the wall behind the small fridge and microwave so not great if anyone wants to get close to a big mirror.
Nothing to really dislike.

We had a wonderful and relaxing two nights away. Oakead was a little out of the way but not difficult to find and the peace and quiet when we were there was fabulous. On arrival the host greeted us and was friendly but not intrusive. The apartment was clean, airy, light and very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The view from the balcony was beautiful and had the bonus of two lovely horses grazing all day. The bathroom is large and was spotlessly clean and the shower is powerful! Complimentary toiletries were provided and smelt gorgeous as well as basics for washing dishes. The bed was comfortable and the linens fresh and clean. We have had a lovely stay and would not hesitate to return.
