The Host was pleasant.

This room is not as advertised be aware that the pictures online do not match what you will actually find. Specifically in the clutter that is present. The standard of furnishings, the cleanliness and the personal items left in the room. You would be wise to check ALL reviews before booking. We didn't and we are regretting that. There are enough reviews on here for you to accurately assess this room. -Cluttered with little to no surfaces available - Poor cleaning - dirty carpets - Extension leads that need sorting as this would be hazard in anyone's house. TIP for the owner if you really do need extension leads then at least buy decent ones with an RCD available at B&Q, Screwfix etc for less than the cost of a one night stay. - Food and take away containers in the fridge -Poor locks -No light in the "Garden" which is the access for the room once you have arrived with broken furniture, uneven ground and goodness knows what on the floor. To be fair to the host she did communicate with us well when we were delayed a long time with the traffic and weather conditions. On arrival it was not easy to locate the house, but it was dark and as I have said terrible weather. The host was pleasant and she did suggest we use the front door to bring our bags in as the garden light was not working she was also helpful in directing us to a local takeaway. Once in the room we where seriously disappointed. There is no need for me to go into further detail. We stayed for possibly an hour or just over ate a small takeaway meal and made a polite excuse and left. The three nights we had booked we stayed in a local travel lodge for a similar price. I should state that I have not requested a refund or attempted to cancel our payment, I booked I should have checked, my fault.

Host very friendly and polite. It was nice to have a coffee in the garden in the morning. Tranquil, homely atmosphere. Cheshire the resident cat was cute and friendly too. Definitely recommend this property.

Shambles

Nothing in particular as there were no locks on doors, no cups, spoons etc in room. The kitchen was dirty and the work surfaces full of dirty crockery, gone off food and generally a mess.

The place was very neglected, dirty, smelly and in a state of poor maintenance and far from what I expected. We had no explanation upon arrival, we had to ask for cups etc, etc. It felt like the room we were in was used for storage. The property failed in every respect, I was pleased to leave the following day. The bed was smelly and I doubt if the sheets were changed.

It was horrible we couldent wait to get out of there.

It was dirty beyond belief there was 6of us standing on the landing waiting to use the toilet. When we arrived someone had used the bath and left the water in it was still there the following day. The cobwebs were so bad hanging over the bed that my wife would not sleep in the bed incase a spider fell on her. There were extension leads leading from an extension lead leading from another extension lead, in an old building like that a fire could have easily happened. The photos were nothing like in the garden it was full of broken furniture and so overgrown the sun couldent get through. There is no way you could have sat outside. I have photoes.

Everything. This place is very dodgy. Arrived late (as communicated) and couldn't find it. No lights or signage outside this private house. Room full of rubbish as the whole house. Uncomfortable bed. No privacy, not working bathroom, clutter everywhere, not fresh, smelly bedding. I could go for hours. If it wasn't just for one night and late, I would have left straight away and wouldn't stay there. The owner will defend this place as she does with all negative feedback I've seen (my fault for not checking earlier) but this is just a room in random house, not suitable for renting AT ALL! I would never expect to book something like this through Booking.com in UK! And not even that cheap. For £70 you can find decent b&b. Avoid

Shit hole

Bed was ok

The main door to the building was never locked, Door to our room had no key to lock it, only a bolt on the inside of room, nothing was safe to leave in the room as others where in and out of the building, The kitchen was very messy and we needed to clean space to sit and eat at the table, Random person sleeping on a couch in the kitchen, TV in room did not work, Garden View was not as the picture showed, it was unkept and unsafe to enter, Cobwebs hanging from everything, All draws in the room where full of clutter and there was no room to empty our cases, The owner is a hoarder and the property was full, we would have left and not stayed here if we could of found somewhere else to go, but had also already paid, First impression when walking up to the front door was it looked derelict, Owner offered a lift into town at an extra cost however, proceeded to drink wine all night, did not feel safe or comfortable enough go, Would definitely not stay again and would advise trip advisor to send out an inspection officer. Size of room good but very cold as in the conservatory, Toilet was under the stairs and very small and cramped, we hit our head on the stairs, No parking, No milk left so told to go and buy our own at morrisons, It was walking into a full house and given a corner to sleep in.

We honestly thought no one lived there, there's no indication that it's a B & B at all! The front yard area looked like a tip, The decor etc was extremely scruffy I have used booking.com for years and always found details advertised reflected correctly to the accommodation... not in this case! I certainly would not advertise this place if i was you

I aborted my 2 day stay because the place was so unsavory. I simply could not stay there.

This property should be removed from Booking.com. It is atrocious. I have photographs to document its disrepair and inappropriateness. I had booked 2 nights but simply could not tolerate a second night there. There was NOTHING i liked.

Clutter, lack of welcome, shared bathroom with an entire house. The room was filled with untidy personal effects: e.g. 4 dressing gowns, a pile of untidy sheets and endless other nonsense. The building looked like it should be condemned. Walls and floors were paper thin so could hear everything else going on is the house.

The lady running this probably did her best but her house and the room itself was full of clutter and dirt. I could not stay there because of old furniture filling g the room and dusty old blankets in the bed. I had to book a room elsewhere for the night. I lost money on this.

Great host and property location within short walking distance of restaurant, chippy, Morrisons and more and not an impossible walk to the city centre. Easy access to secluded garden from the room. Room clean but a little cluttered with what looked like overflow house furniture. One addition which would boost the room a lot would be a little basin. Loved the dog... so chilled out and it loved being petted.
