Don’t stay here

Location is great. 15 mins walk from the town.

Don’t stay here (please read to the end) . The property is a two double bed, located in a lovely street with comfortable beds and a hot shower. However the property is very dirty. The furniture is stained and when we pulled out dishes to use in the kitchen they had food on them and they were so greasy, we were forced to order take out. The oven was full of crumbs with greasy trays. We washed up all that we used but it was so uncomfortable. Plus the door is Yale lock only, which is a safety issue for us But this isn’t the reason for a bad review. On leaving, the host contacted me with a very abrasive email stating that we had stained the sofa, left wine bottles all over and moved furniture. This was not only untrue but very offensive. We stay in 30+ rentals a year and have never left a property unclean, we as clients have never had a bad review I messaged back politely (noting that we stay several times a year on rentals for work, and had never experienced this) but the response was more heated, stating more allegations than in the first message. I urge anyone not to stay here truly. However, Chester is amazing- please visit to experience this amazing City

Lovely stay.

Lovely little house close to chester. Nice walk along the canal and lovely pub nearby. (Telfords) the host responded to any queries very quickly.

On the whole we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Ideally situated for visiting Chester.

Parking was a bonus.

The landing light could not be operated from downstairs despite their being a switch. On arrival the bulb did not work while we changed. We could not get the dishwasher to work. Smaller pans would be a bonus please. No welcome pack, a pint of milk would have been appreciated. No additional details about the house or local area. Water left in the coffee maker and kettle. No instructions for recycling bins.

A very hot race day!

The house was beautifully decorated. Ideal location to the races with a lovely walk at the side of the canal. Would definitely stay again.

The sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable and possibly a privacy curtain across as you need to access the living room to get to the kitchen.

Great location for us, very clean and safe. Really great value for Chester, so much better than a hotel.

Larger than expected, very cosy, comfy sofas, clean, felt safe and secure.

No where to put clothes like a chair only 3 hangers in massive wardrobe Bathroom bin not emptied, not enough toilet paper, slightly feeling a little bit neglected dead plants and outside bins not emptied. Personally felt there were too many knick knacks around But this is being very picky.

Often properties provide basics like shower gel, shampoo, oil for cooking and salt & pepper . Would have been useful (partic the kitchen basics) . (some basics- toilet paper, washing-up liquid and some tea & coffee were provided)

Property was lovely and well appointed. Rooms were a good size. Simple arrangements to gain access. It's about 10 -15 mins walk into town. Street parking is difficult, and the street looks a bit worse for wear.

A stylish, comfortable short stay in the perfect location.

A really nicely decorated property, finished to a high standard, with everything you’d need for a short stay. It was warm, clean and cosy and very comfortable. Communication with the owner was great and they were very helpful. The location was perfect for a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Chester and 15 mins drive to Cheshire Oaks. One minute walk away is the canal, which was lovely to sit beside. Parking was tight but we were lucky with only having a small car.

Beautifully comfortable home from home with every convenience you may need.

We both thought the house was stunning and extremely comfortable, we immediately felt at home. The beds are so comfortable and stylish, also there are lovely fresh, clean towels and face cloths etc. The area is ideal for visiting Chester and surrounding areas of Wales and Merseyside. It’s a busy street for parking but we were lucky. The nearby retail parks are great for groceries and anything you may have forgotten. There is a small park nearby for dog walkers and small children which is great.

On our last morning my husband dropped some coins which rolled under the sofa which we pulled out to find a collection of crisps, chocolate and even a soft drink bottle. I got the vacuum cleaner and cleaned the area, which didn’t bother me but might have upset other guests. Although the bath/shower, sink and toilet were very clean, the bathroom was dusty and required some attention to detail. Sorry, I feel like I’m nitpicking but it’s important to me.

Parking can be a little bit tricky as its a tight road but it's not a big issue. We arrived with two cars but were lucky to get a space each.

Lovely break away

We loved the Decor, it was lovely and clean everything you needed in there. Just a stones throw away from city centre. Everything we required.

Just a couple of things, but nothing really to complain about, it would be nice to have bath sheets, rather than bath towels. Some tourist information would of been useful And maybe some laminated instructions on a quick guide to using gadgets ie heating, oven etc. But like I said it's just personal choice.
