A wonderful family hotel

The rooms were better and larger than in the photos. We traveled as a big family — 7 adults and 2 children — and rented two rooms, which was very convenient. Our room had two toilets and a shower with hot water. We stayed in winter, and the room was warm. There was a small kitchen with everything we needed, and we especially loved the balconies. The hotel is very close to the city center. After booking, the host contacted us regarding prepayment. Although Booking states that no prepayment is required, I ended up paying the full amount in advance, which meant we didn’t have to pay anything on site — that was actually convenient. When we had an issue with noisy neighbors who were shouting until 3 a.m., the host was contacted and resolved the situation.

The stove could have been better. If you plan to stay for a longer period and cook frequently, this might be a bit inconvenient. One thing I didn’t consider was checking the city map beforehand. While the hotel is close to the center, the town itself is located on quite steep hills. Be prepared for some cardio and make sure to bring proper walking or trekking shoes. This is not related to the hotel itself, so I’m not lowering the rating.

A special peaceful place with stunning mountain views

It was really peaceful and comfortable with everything we needed. The woman who greeted us was very helpful. Berchtesgaden is a beautiful place.

There was an unpleasant smell in the kitchen esp in the evenings but we bought scented candles which helped a bit. We had not realised how steep the route to the Schloss is on foot. It may be worth saying that if visitors are not coming by car, they need to be fit and allow for some taxi fares!

Perfect for big group stays in this magnificent area.

Location. Host Inge and son Titus were so helpful and gifted us beers at arrival. Although weather was really epically bad we still could have a good time.

As stated by owner the water pressure was relatively low but doable.

A very nice, comfortable, unique place to stay but make sure you can pay with a German bank account or cash.

Clean, comfortable old school German accommodation. Unique property that is part of a 1750’s palace complex which was really special.

It wasn’t possible to message the host on Booking.com or email before the stay so communication required calling in. Fortunately I speak German so was ok but would have been tough otherwise. Also, they required a 50pct prepayment from a German account which we could do since my daughter is studying there and has an account already but otherwise it would have been difficult as Americans. Also, when we arrived we had to pay in cash which fortunately we brought with us after seeing other reviews.

Nice views and good apartment, but room for improvement

Apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed (all the basics covered). The view to the mountain was nice. The Berchtesgaden cards were handy to have. Locatio to town is a short 5 minute walk (do keep in mind coming back means a steep climb)

Check in experience was a bit "rocky". There was no one there and other guests names were posted in a board but not ours, which scared us for a moment, we had to call 2 numbers (one that hang up on us and only spoke German, while the 2nd one replied). After some checking they found our reservation and told us to just go there and the key would be there, this was true but it wasnt a pleasant check in experience (especially after climbing up the hills to get there). The balcony floor was very dirty, looked like it wasnt cleaned for some time. The pillows were very soft and uncomfortable. For the check out we were surprised to be told that a card payment wasn't possible and getting a request to pay it with cash. Never in my experience traveling I had such a request for a high amount of money (we stayed for 6 nights). I was surprised as the hotels are usually just charging my CC directly. Long story short, ended up doing a bank transfer (which was fine from my EU bank account, but can imagine this could be a bigger problem for other non-EU guests). I find it unbelievable that at this day and age a business like this cannot still manage a simple card payment. (Especially given that this is administrated by a big real state company in the area)

The apartment was cosy and had a great vue on the mountains ! Nice also that there were 2 toilets.

Coming by foot to the apartment is very sporty (almost 100m higher than the village center), so be prepared to hike ! Some basic kitchen ingredients like oil or pepper would also have been appreciated.

Love the location and view. The walk was steep between the accommodation and town but certainly worth it for the views and walking trackings on offer. If driving a car the car park is close to the accommodation. Very happy with the accommodation 15 min walk into town

The accommodation was up a steep hill so it wouldnt suit guests with mobility issues unless driving. Information handout was in German so we didnt understand alot of it!! Recommend an English version.

Bon séjour malgré quelques déconvenues

Nous avons apprécié la localisation sur les hauteurs de Berchtesgaden mais accessible à pied et le calme. Le logement était propre. Le balcon avait une bonne vue. Le checking se fait en autonomie. À noter qu’un acompte de 50 % est demandé en pré paiement. Le solde est demandé en liquide à la fin du séjour.

Nous avions l’appartement n•5 au RDC pour trois personnes. Le canapé-lit du séjour, n’est pas un canapé dépliant, mais la banquette est transformée en lit. Du coup, difficile de profiter éventuellement du séjour. Heureusement, que ce couchage était destiné à notre adolescente car n’est pas très confortable pour une taille adulte. La cuisine est aveugle. Pas de lumière du jour. L’équipement en vaisselle est minimaliste. L’isolation entre les logements n’est pas fabuleuse. Nous entendions bien la douche du voisin de notre chambre. L’appartement est plutôt adapté pour un couple.

Super rent og fine rum! Der var et veludstyret køkken og 2 toiletter i hver lejlighed. Vi havde bedt om en baby seng og det var så fint opredt! Inge der bestyrer stedet var så flink og imødekommende og vil til enhver tid anbefale andre at bo der. 🥳

Kort gå afstand til byen - men ikke for gangbesværede. Det var stejle stigninger hjem fra byen!

Unterkunft in schöner Berghang-Lage

- geräumige Wohnung - tolle Lage und schöne Aussicht - nette, hilfsbereite, zuvorkommende Gastgeberin - Berchtesgaden ist in nur wenigen Gehminuten zu erreichen (auf dem Rückweg muss man den steilen Berg aber auch wieder hinauf) - ausreichend Parkplätze sind vorhanden

- Entgegen der Beschreibung war keine Mikrowelle in der Küche der Ferienwohnung 1 im Mayerhaus vorhanden. Hat uns persönlich jetzt nicht weiter gestört und ich bin mir sicher, wenn wir es angesprochen hätten, hätte die Gastgeberin eine organisiert. Für Personen, die sich darauf verlassen und entsprechend eingekauft haben, wäre es allerdings ärgerlich, erst vor Ort festzustellen, dass keine vorhanden ist. - Mobiliar veraltet - schlechtes WLAN

Puiki vieta - nuo kalno išėjus į kiemą matosi senamiestis, labai arti nueiti į miestelio centrą. Apartamentuose buvo viskas, ko reikia apsistojus šeimai: su dviem vaikais: virtuvėlė, indai, du tualetai, švarus dušas. Jaukus balkonas su vaizdu į kalną svajingiems vakarams. Buvome sužavėti puikia vieta ir tvarkinga aplinka. Šeimininkė draugiška, paslaugi, tik svečiams patartina mokėti vokiečių kalbą arba turėti vertimo programėlę.

Nebuvo skalbimo mašinos, kas aktualu apsistojant ilgesniam laikui. Tačiau ji ir nebuvo nurodyta apartamentų aprašyme.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt in einer sehr schönen Region

Das Personal war sehr nett und hat mir einen Rundgang durch das Schloss ermöglicht. Das Apothekerhaus ist sehr geräumig und bietet Platz für 10 Personen. Je zwei Toiletten und Badezimmer sind vollkommen ausreichend sowie alle anderen Zimmer sehr groß sind. Es war alles vorhanden und wenn etwas gefehlt hätte dann bin ich mir sicher hätte man dass auch bekommen.

Schöne Wohnung und sehr sauber, für 2 Personen ideal.

- unkomplizierter Zugang zur Wohnung - sehr nette Verwaltung - sehr ruhig gelegen - Küche ist klein, aber es ist alles vorhanden - sehr sauber - zweite Toilette - Bad ist hell und Dusche hervorragend - man ist schnell im Ort - Parkplatz ist ausreichend vorhanden - auf dem Balkon kann man schön sitzen

Vorausgehend möchte ich erwähnen, dass wir Wohnung 4 hatten und andere Wohnungen evtl. andere Bedingungen haben. - Der Bergblick ist eingeschränkt. Vom Balkon aus sieht man einen Teil, allerdings ist er vom Haus verdeckt. - Das Schlafsofa ist nicht wirklich bequem. Man schläft im Wohnzimmer und es war auch keine Bettlampe vorhanden. Die Stehlampe hat keinen Schalter, was es bei Dunkelheit schwierig macht. - Der Anstieg vom Ort zur Wohnung ist wirklich steil. Für uns war das kein Problem, man muss es sich bei der Buchung aber bewusst machen, dass auf gleicher Höhe keine Gastronomie ist und man körperlich nicht eingeschränkt sein sollte, wenn man ohne Fahrzeug zurück will. - Eine ausführlichere Beschreibung der Gegebenheiten (z.B. das ein Fön im Schrank außerhalb der Wohnung ist) wäre wünschenswert. - Das WLAN ist schwach. Ich würde die Wohnung zu dritt nicht mehr buchen, aber zu zweit jederzeit.

Die Unterkunft, das Umfeld mit alterwürdigen Gebäuden, ruhige Lage. Die Unterkunft kann man mit ruhigem Gewissen weiter empfehlen. Sehr nahe am Ort Berchtesgaden. Start für viele Touristenzentren.

Können uns über nichts beschweren. War ein sehr schöner Urlaub. Können nichts negatives berichten. Würden wieder dort buchen. Wir waren rundum zu frieden.
