Gillygate Boutique Apartment- Stunning City Centre 1 Bedroom Apartment

Second time we've stayed here. We love the location and the apartment is always clean and welcoming.

Perfect location, lovely lounge area, 2 bathrooms, nice kitchen and bedroom within easy walk to wall, the incredible Minster, Yorvik Viking Village ( an archaeological treasure) so much and great restaurants!

The only challenge was parking which we knew before arriving- car park behind the apartment and for the two nights and some day parking it was between £80-£100 so be prepared for that.

Location is great plus the flat is fully fitted.

Entrance to the property is tricky with a pram. Plus not much light and extra humidity because it is located in a basement.

The location was amazing and the support from the staff. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid , coffee, tea etc which helped.

The decor was not the same as the pictures which was disappointing as I chose the apartment based on the look. I feel It had a cold feel to It all being white in every room. Perhaps cream, beige or sage for warmth. There were numerous items broken which I reported but spoilt the feel of the apartment. This included a table, door, fire surround and shower. There were no smoking stickers stuck to nice pieces of furniture in your eyeline, making it feel less homely. The decor in the bedroom was bizarre - Audrey Hepburn, horse cushions and rug and a Brighton menu. It didn't flow at all. The cushions and throws were dirty and clearly never washed. The noise in the apartment above us was ridiculous. I contacted the staff but I didn't hear back about this issue, which persisted the whole stay. The sofa bed wasn't made up for my daughter which I've never experienced before when renting apartments. This was an added stress as I am pregnant. Overall, we were really disappointed with our stay and had high hopes for this apartment.
