About this house rental
Relax and unwind in this wonderful quinta (farmhouse) situated in a peaceful part of the Western Algarve, away from the more touristy areas, yet a short drive to the beaches on both the southwestern Algarve and west coast and a mere 10 minute drive to the famous town of Lagos.
This cosy farmhouse of approximately 180m2 (1800 square feet) is composed of a huge living room with comfortable sofas and with a well-equipped open plan kitchen with a seating area enough to sit 8-10 people. It furthermore has one master bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom with sink, toilet and bathtub/shower; another spacious bedroom with both a queen-size bed and a comfy queen-sized sofabed plus a smaller bedroom with a double bed where an extra single bed can be placed alongside if necessary. The second bathroom has a toilet, large step-in shower and sink. The windows of all spaces open to a garden with mature trees. The space is decorated as a proper home with sturdy and rustic furniture, since the owner lives here during the winter months.
The living room opens to a large veranda with an outside dining table and chairs, and an outdoor sofa area. You will have access to the whole house and garden. There is a BBQ area as well and you will be able to sit out under the stars and have a charcoal BBQ. The owner will provide a big bag of charcoal for you during your stay.
The garden is massive with trees, bushes and flowers and a big lawn. There are hammocks, hanging chairs, deckchairs and sun loungers to take full advantage of the peace and tranquillity that surrounds the house and the garden. At night, enjoy the peace and quiet of this rural location and fall asleep to the sound of the crickets. You might find you don’t want to leave….
The area offers lots of outdoor activities from surfing, windsurfing, kite-surfing to kayaking, cliff and -country-walks. There is also a golf course nearby. The owner is an avid windsurfer and was born in the area. He knows everything from the best surfing beaches to fantastic cliff walks in the area, to great local restaurants and to where get the best olives and the freshest fish in the Lagos markets. Nearby and within walking distance of the house is the small town of Barao Sao Joao with some restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and a unique Bohemian ambiance.
There is private parking next to the house, enough to park 4 or more cars.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Pedro sehr genossen. Vor allem der Garten mit Hängematten und wunderschönen, schattenspendenden Bäumen hat es uns angetan. Das Haus bietet viel Platz, eine tolle, voll ausgestattete Küche. Das Herzstück des Aufenthaltsbereiches ist der Kamin, der sehr gemütlich ist und zum Verweilen einlädt.
Das Haus ist in perfekter Lage zu Lagos und allen Stränden. Barrao de Sao Joao ist zwar ein paar km landeinwärts, aber dafür erwartet einen hier eine wunderschöne Umgebung, eine tolle Natur und grpßartige Wälder, in denen man tolle Wanderungen unternehmen kann.
Annemarie und Pedro waren tolle Gastgeber und immer ansprechbar bei Fragen. Immer nett, offen und zuvorkommend. Danke dafür ;)
Wir können das Haus unbedingt weiterempfehlen.

We enjoyed a very relaxed stay between Christmas and New Years Eve. The house is located in a calm rural area and we found everything we needed there. Pedro and Annemarie were also very kind and took care we didn't miss anything. For us it was also a perfect place to be with our little daughter, as there is a lot of space and things to do (f.e. visit the neighbours' donkey or the Lagos zoo). The closest village - Barào de Sào Joào - is about 15 minutes walk away. You will find the most important things in one of the small stores there. Also the Mata Nacional is nice for hiking. However, renting a car to go to Lagos or some of the many beautiful beaches is recommended.
We had a great stay and will surely try to come back!

Nettes Landhaus mit grossem Garten, sehr freundliche Betreung durch den Eigentümer vor Ort, es ist alles, was man zum Urlaub braucht vorhanden. Das naheliegende Dorf, mit zwei Läden, ist fussläufig in ca. 15 Minuten erreichbar. Wir (3 Frauen um die 60) haben uns wohl gefühlt. Einen Teil der üppigen Deko haben wir allerdings während unseres Aufenthalts in der Schublade verstaut.

Nous n avons pas eu de chance sur la météo et n avons pas pu profiter du jardin et de l espace extérieur que propose la maison. Belle pièce à vivre, et nous avons du coup utilisé la cheminée. Le propriétaire est sympa et s est montré disponible pour régler nos soucis. A refaire sous le soleil. Pour l itinéraire, chercher Pedragosa à la sortie du village Barão de São João. Tout proche le sympathique zoo de Lagos.
