Luzmar Villas

Staff was lovely, warm and accommodating to our needs; they allowed us to settle the hotel tab the night before checking out as we needed to leave very early for a flight. Views are amazing, both in the hotel as well as on the way to Praia da Luz. I recommend walking to the beach and taking in the beautiful landscape over driving, but look at the "just something to keep in mind" section below before deciding this for yourself. On the topic of driving, the included parking was welcome, and generally you can expect to find a spot. The pool is nice, spacious and clean. Not much to comment on here, but had to mention it since I enjoyed it quite a bit. The room was beautiful and clean, with daily cleaning. We enjoyed the included AC and mini fridge, but unfortunately using the room safe incurs additional cost which we decided to not pay. The shower was spacious and modern, and we got fresh towels next day whenever we used them. The breakfast buffet offers great variety of both salty and sweet food, as well as a lot of fresh fruit and orange juice. The hotel also offers a dinner buffet with a good variety of fish, pasta, meat and vegetables at a reasonable price.

[We didn't like this] The WiFi was unreliable, especially in our room; near the pool the signal was weak but usable. Thankfully the data signal is good in the area and I had decent internet on my EEA roaming plan. The complex could use some access points in the individual villas. This was the only thing we had a real issue with. [Just something to keep in mind] The hotel is about 20-25 minutes on foot from Praia da Luz, with a quite significant elevation gain, so be prepared to burn some calories on the way back from the beach if you don't want to deal with finding parking in the town. Also related to the pedestrian experience, there is no paved sidewalk between Luz and the hotel for the last about 200-300 meters, but it is still safe to walk on the side of the road. Funnily enough we both dropped like 2 kilos after this vacation - not that we're complaining.

The room was clean and comfortable but we were staying very briefly for one night and so did not get chance to enjoy the pool etc. Good Pizzeria a few minutes walk away

It was a bit too far out of Luz without a car but there was a really good pizzeria a few mins away walking.We only stayed one night and breakfast was good but the seating not very comfortable - -on very long wide tables and so felt rather austere and unfriendly.
