The basics are just not acceptable. No coffee machine in the breakfast area which you’d find in any travelodge , the finish in the bathroom is beyond amateur. The stunning view of the cathedral from the breakfast area is spoiled by 1970s net curtains and filthy windows. The most basic, cheapest TV is placed in the corner and not even wall mounted. The remote buttons are worn down. The bedroom furniture is so old and worn even a charity shop would reject it. With serious investment and up to date hospitality management, it would be an awesome venue. The structure and design is actually very cool. Let down by dirtiness which is impossible to keep hygienic as it’s so old. Breakfast was relatively decent though the Lincolnshire sausages - which should be a key offering - were undercooked. Wasted opportunity and over priced.
