We loved how peaceful it was, our room was wonderful and we loved how we could rest and recharge with nothing digital in sight.. The dinner was incredible served in the main hall, the breakfasts were delicious, all locally sourced, especially the porridge.
We could not say a bad word about the place,it was an amazing stay and we will be back!
There is just a preference with breakfast that it would be lovely to have something that's a bit more nutritious, like mushrooms or tomatoes or beans as an option.

Just so extraordinary and different. Even the kettle had a mind of its own. Just gorgeous! Best porridge ever, served in the Great Hall.
Possibly a better mattress but that's personal preference. Brown bread/croissant and more fruit choice at breakfast would have been nice.

Friendly welcome
Fascinating history of the castle & its owners.
Comfortable bed, though awkward to get in & out, as it was in a tight alcove.
Cracked wash basin.
Rainfall shower - such a bad idea
Poor light for reading
Lack of a small refrigerator
Lack of a doormat to prevent dirt & grit coming into the room.
