Wonderful welcome from Charlie who admired our classic car (always a good way to get on with my husband!). She made every effort to make sure we were settled - providing fresh milk for tea, sorting out the TV and in the morning giving us some suggestions of things to do/places to see. Comfortable room with shower room. Breakfast is ordered in advance and brought to your room - an excellent choice of continental options with bacon butties also on offer. The Plough is (not surprisingly) very close and offers an excellent menu and range of drinks plus very friendly and chatty staff and locals.
Really no complaints - the furniture is perhaps a little dated but that is obvious from the photos and did not detract from our stay. We probably would have ordered a slightly later breakfast - the last slot is usually 8.30 but was 8.20 for us because Charlie had an engagement that morning. If you're planning a lie in, you should be aware.
