We really enjoyed the stay at Samouil Apartment steps from the beach.
I will start with the communication which was outstanding. We received information at every step and the host was very nice to help us to check-in earlier, as we had a very early flight.
The house vas very big and clean, it offered all the possible amenities and it was very close to the Nea Chora beach which is a very nice sandy beach. Even if the balcony was a little bit small, we managed to use it every morning and we managed to fit four people.
The apartment was also relatively cool, so we didn't have to use the air conditioning that often, but we were staying at the apartment at the middle of September.
The rooms are big and comfortable and each having its own air conditioner was really a plus. Indeed, if you are trying to sleep with the windows opened during the night it is a bit loud, but the air conditioning is really giving you options.
We didn't cook at all and didn't prepare any drinks, since the apartment is extremely close to a wide selections of restaurants and right across the street there is a coffee shop with very good coffee.
The Old Town is at about 15 minutes of walking along the sea, or there is also another way which is shorter when going through the Selinou street.
We really enjoyed the vacation and we will definitely come again.
I would say that being in an old construction the apartment was not perfect, but it offered you a very cozy feeling that made you feel like at home.

Modernity, cleanliness, close proximity to beach and great little coffee place directly opposite. Laundry facilities and kitchen facilities were great. It was new, large and comfortable.

The location was great. It was about 30 ft from the beach that was lined with restaurants. We enjoyed how close it was to everything we wanted to get to. It also had a large, lovely garden patio. Its also a pretty large space, the bedrooms had plenty of space. It could easily hold 3 couples.
The staff was easy to contact as well.
I hate to write a bad review, but there were a few things we didn't like. Firstly, the pictures were a bit misleading. The apartment is on the ground floor, so if you want to open the windows, you open up to the street and people can look right in. So the privacy was lacking and we kept the windows closed which made the room dim. It was not the light and bright space it appears to be.
Being on the ground level, it also had no soundproofing, so you could hear everything outside. Dogs barking, cars, people talking. The person upstairs would water their plants or something at 4:30am everyday, so we were woken up by running water. If you a light sleeper like me, you will not get much rest unless you go to bed very early. It's very peaceful at night, but quite noisy from 7am and on.
The beds are not very comfortable and the showers are strange. The one that looks newly remodeled had a shower curtain but water still got everywhere. So we chose to shower in the other bathroom that was intended to be as a bathtub. But we rigged the shower head on the window handle, so we could stand and use it. There was only soap provided to wash hands, no other toilettries like shampoo or body wash. We couldn't find any outlets in the bathroom, so we blow dried our hair and got ready in the dining room.
There was also instructions to clean up after ourselves. Clean your dishes and take out your own trash to a dumpster down the street.
All of this wasn't that big of a deal, we managed, but if you're looking for a pampered, vacation feel. Which we were, we didn't feel it here. No housekeeping and a bit too noisy for us. But it felt safe and it was a place to rest your head in private. Not much more than that. We moved to another apartment down the road and it suited our wants and needs better.
