Cute room in a great location! I had what I needed!

Great location! Located at the edge of the old town, so it was not very crowded, but close to the old harbor, close to a big supermarket and public bus station. The room was clean and cozy with a small balcony! Easy self-check-in & the host gave me detailed information on how to get to the apartment!

If you are a light sleeper consider to take with you earplugs as the apartment is right above the street! But after midnight it becomes quiet! There was no “kitchen” in the apartment. It was only a small corner with a fridge, kettle and some plates and silverware, but no cooking stove.

Smaragdi room in October

Great location

The location of the room is great – right in the Old Town, close to everything, which makes it very convenient. However, there were several issues during our stay. The sink was clogged, and the hot water ran out quickly – not enough for two people to take a shower one after another. The towels and bed sheets clearly need to be replaced, as they are quite worn out. Overall, the room looks very tired and could use some renovation and better maintenance. Also, it’s understandable that parking in the Old Town is difficult, but when the listing says “parking available,” we expected there to be a designated spot outside the old town or at least access to a nearby parking area.

A lovely place to stay

Location was great with a great little balcony. Close to restaurants, minimarts etc without being right in the middle of the busy section.

Kitchen area could do with an upgrade, we only made coffee as not really suitable for cooking.

I loved visiting Chania, it’s beautiful town.

Very central close to everything. Very cozy and clean. Well maintained. Parking is available on the roads close by however it does get busy possibly because it is next to the town where everyone goes to visit. Definitely recommend.

The shower space is very small. My husband struggled to get inside and manoeuvre around. But for two nights it was doable.

Great area. Basic but clean. Good bathroom. Quiet.

Hot water ran out after one shower. Parking was free but few places available, and we had to wait 15/20 mins

Very attractive place

Very nice room in the old town on an attractive street. 10 minutes walk from coach transfer. We had a fridge, kettle and some kitchen equipment which was an unexpected bonus as we picked the room with a balcony. 15 minute walk from lovely sandy beach. Air-conditioning included and room serviced daily. Good communication from host.

Smallish bathroom but it did us. 15 euros all along the beach for 2 loungers and a brolly which I think is pricey.

Hostess was very cooperative as we arrived after midnight due to flight delays. Location was good with fruit stand and shopping close. Also enjoyed having coffee on the terrace. Old fashioned keys were fun to use.

The location is great, in the old town center, and we had a good value for the money we paid. The host was very kind, and we got easy access to the property (key locker outside the door).

The room was smaller that what we imagined seeing the pictures, and very noisy street until 23:00, maybe even later but we were not there in the full season.

I will not hesitate to book this property again. I will definitely recommend it.

I arrived at the airport and took the bus to the main bus terminal in Chania, which only cost 2,30 Euros. You can download all the bus schedules in pdf printable format: https://www.e-ktel.com/en/services/dromologia. I walked to the property following google maps which was only a 10 minute walk. I loved the location it was in a small narrow road. It gave a wonderful feeling of being in Crete! Not only!! Whatever you can imagine was all closely located the Venetian harbor, shops, restaurants, bars, sandy beaches.... The room was very clean and comfortable. The owner was very kind, and answered all of my questions. She is a very sweet character.

I was not aware that in most properties that they have a staircase leading up to the room. Luckily I was located on the first floor. The flight of stairs was a nightmare to climb up with my suitcase, after a very tiring trip. The bathroom is quite small. It would be great if they provided a plastic non-slip bath mat. I was disappointed that no coffee and sugar was provided in the room. Most properties provide this as a kind gesture to their guests.

Fantastic location and comfortable accomodation

The room is a good size and has a very large bed. The little balcony had sunshine in the morning so was nice for breakfast. The shower was good and the water reliably hot. The aircon/heating worked very well. The kitchen area was not very well equipped but when we mentioned there were no forks the host brought some the same day. There were good bedside lights. The room is located in a very nice street with some amazing craft shops and a very nice community. Children play in the street, the people who run the shop have their breakfast at a table on the street, other neighbours have chairs on the street. It's a very pleasant community to stay among. It is also very close to the sea and the harbour, in the very heart of the old town.

The washing up has to be done in the wash basin which is rather awkward and we didn't have a drying up cloth. The toilet flush is rather difficult.

Central location. Very very basic. For the price it's a convinient choice though just to have a base to sleep. Clean as well. The host is very nice and welcoming.
