"The owner is charming and provided a lovely french breakfast and happily attended to any requests. There is a beach right across the street and another down the road a bit. The town is an easy stroll..."

A mixed stay, not best value but thankfully ended satisfactorily.
The location was walking distance to town, which has a lovely harbour and eateries, small shops etc and a small beach and the coastal walk nearby is stunning with other walking etc to be done in the area. The host was charming and helpful - she readily agreed to our request to move into the vacated (much better) room on our second night, allowed us to put our drinks in her fridge downstairs and even provided first aid materials. The second room was large, bright cosy and comfortable and very much like the images shown. Its small balcony was from the bathroom and on the side of the house. Very stylish, renovated, spacious shower room with great walk in shower just next to the bedroom. The move to this room made our stay so much better. Thank you Mamouska.
The first room we had felt uncared for - it was dim, curtain rail on floor, plastic covered headboard, curtains on one window only and one comfortable chair. The toilet was along the hall, though bathroom was nearby. We chose the room as it had a balcony, but when on it you were invading the privacy of the people in the other room which also faced onto it. Plus there were 2 tables, so as the other room had a balcony we initially assumed it was shared. There were no guest facilities in the accommodation itself eg for water, drinks, no coffee/tea making possible. We were offered breakfast on arrival but we declined. It wasnt clear where we would eat so we didn't question our host. She is a charming old lady but I think the language constraints had an impact - eg drop off/ parking instructions on arrival and not telling us that we had a fob to get in and out. The garden was very overgrown and not an attraction as it is.

Great location, but the house is a bit run down.
The host Mamouska is a lovely elderly lady. The location is excellent with a beach across the road and about 6 minute walk to the town centre and the bus stop for the train feeder bus.
Our room, toilet and bathroom were all separate and on the same floor as other rooms. There was no lock on our bedroom. The garden, which looks well in pictures is very overgrown. The house is a bit run down, however, it is very clean.

This was the most quintessentially French experience we had on our trip!
Perfect location! Easy walk into town. Parking for our rental car was included, which is difficult to find. Mme. Mamouska is a charming lady, who brought us fresh croissants from town for breakfast, which we enjoyed outside in her garden. She also happily provided us with plates, glasses, napkins and cutlery to enjoy our fresh food bought from the market for lunch on our private little shady balcony, which can only be accessed from the bathroom! Chez Mamouska is a delightfully quirky place, and an experience worth having, if you're looking for a taste of authentic French life in Cassis.
The bed was pretty hard, and there was a funny smell in our bathroom. We didn't realize that the main balcony off our bedroom which has the sea view, is a shared space, and we couldn't lock our bedroom when we went out. Our bathroom was not ensuite, and didn't lock, so lacked security and privacy. It was hot at night, and there is no air conditioning, so we had to leave the shared balcony door open to circulate the air. The extra cost for the croissants and coffee (10 Euros per person) wasn't mentioned until we were leaving. Luckily I speak some French, as Mme. speaks no English. Still had a couple of misunderstandings due to the language barrier. Be sure to have access to google translate if you don't speak fluent French.

While we enjoyed our stay the description of the property was inaccurate.
The sprightly lady who runs the property is delightful . It is close to walk to the town centre and a nearby beach. It was spacious and very clean .
Parking was free -but not onsite and reliant on availability in a nearby lane way. The garden was not maintained as the Booking.Com pictures indicated .Also it was not made clear on the site that we were in a room within a house where other guests and the owner had access to it. The advertised balcony was shared with another guest . The bedroom and bathroom had no locks .As two females this carried risk.

We loved it!
The lady who runs Chaz Mamouska - a sprightly 88 years old! - is super charming and helpful. If you ask for breakfast she will drive to buy fresh croissants each morning. If you expect modern luxury, this is not for you; it's homely and comfortable with traditional hospitality.
One of the rooms is not en-suite - the bathroom and toilet are separate rooms in the hallway outside. However they are NOT shared with anyone.

Cosy, comfy and charming stay right next to the beach. Central and cute.
The location was great - right across the road from a lovely beach with a cute beach snack shack. Also walking distance to town, restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable and charming, with access to a shared balcony and bathroom / toilet. The parking was a short walk up the hill but it was very easy for us. Genevieve was wonderful - so helpful and sweet to us. The room doesn't have a fridge, but she let us keep some food in her fridge and we were able to borrow beach towels, etc.
We weren't totally clear on the fact that the bathroom was shared with other guests, but this was not a big deal. It was very clean and still felt private.
