A mixed stay, not best value but thankfully ended satisfactorily.
The location was walking distance to town, which has a lovely harbour and eateries, small shops etc and a small beach and the coastal walk nearby is stunning with other walking etc to be done in the area. The host was charming and helpful - she readily agreed to our request to move into the vacated (much better) room on our second night, allowed us to put our drinks in her fridge downstairs and even provided first aid materials. The second room was large, bright cosy and comfortable and very much like the images shown. Its small balcony was from the bathroom and on the side of the house. Very stylish, renovated, spacious shower room with great walk in shower just next to the bedroom. The move to this room made our stay so much better. Thank you Mamouska.
The first room we had felt uncared for - it was dim, curtain rail on floor, plastic covered headboard, curtains on one window only and one comfortable chair. The toilet was along the hall, though bathroom was nearby. We chose the room as it had a balcony, but when on it you were invading the privacy of the people in the other room which also faced onto it. Plus there were 2 tables, so as the other room had a balcony we initially assumed it was shared.
There were no guest facilities in the accommodation itself eg for water, drinks, no coffee/tea making possible. We were offered breakfast on arrival but we declined. It wasnt clear where we would eat so we didn't question our host. She is a charming old lady but I think the language constraints had an impact - eg drop off/ parking instructions on arrival and not telling us that we had a fob to get in and out. The garden was very overgrown and not an attraction as it is.

Great location, but the house is a bit run down.
The host Mamouska is a lovely elderly lady. The location is excellent with a beach across the road and about 6 minute walk to the town centre and the bus stop for the train feeder bus.
Our room, toilet and bathroom were all separate and on the same floor as other rooms. There was no lock on our bedroom. The garden, which looks well in pictures is very overgrown. The house is a bit run down, however, it is very clean.

This was the most quintessentially French experience we had on our trip!
Perfect location! Easy walk into town. Parking for our rental car was included, which is difficult to find. Mme. Mamouska is a charming lady, who brought us fresh croissants from town for breakfast, which we enjoyed outside in her garden. She also happily provided us with plates, glasses, napkins and cutlery to enjoy our fresh food bought from the market for lunch on our private little shady balcony, which can only be accessed from the bathroom! Chez Mamouska is a delightfully quirky place, and an experience worth having, if you're looking for a taste of authentic French life in Cassis.
The bed was pretty hard, and there was a funny smell in our bathroom. We didn't realize that the main balcony off our bedroom which has the sea view, is a shared space, and we couldn't lock our bedroom when we went out. Our bathroom was not ensuite, and didn't lock, so lacked security and privacy. It was hot at night, and there is no air conditioning, so we had to leave the shared balcony door open to circulate the air. The extra cost for the croissants and coffee (10 Euros per person) wasn't mentioned until we were leaving. Luckily I speak some French, as Mme. speaks no English. Still had a couple of misunderstandings due to the language barrier. Be sure to have access to google translate if you don't speak fluent French.

While we enjoyed our stay the description of the property was inaccurate.
The sprightly lady who runs the property is delightful . It is close to walk to the town centre and a nearby beach. It was spacious and very clean .
Parking was free -but not onsite and reliant on availability in a nearby lane way. The garden was not maintained as the Booking.Com pictures indicated .Also it was not made clear on the site that we were in a room within a house where other guests and the owner had access to it. The advertised balcony was shared with another guest . The bedroom and bathroom had no locks .As two females this carried risk.

We loved it!
The lady who runs Chaz Mamouska - a sprightly 88 years old! - is super charming and helpful. If you ask for breakfast she will drive to buy fresh croissants each morning. If you expect modern luxury, this is not for you; it's homely and comfortable with traditional hospitality.
One of the rooms is not en-suite - the bathroom and toilet are separate rooms in the hallway outside. However they are NOT shared with anyone.

Cosy, comfy and charming stay right next to the beach. Central and cute.
The location was great - right across the road from a lovely beach with a cute beach snack shack. Also walking distance to town, restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable and charming, with access to a shared balcony and bathroom / toilet. The parking was a short walk up the hill but it was very easy for us. Genevieve was wonderful - so helpful and sweet to us. The room doesn't have a fridge, but she let us keep some food in her fridge and we were able to borrow beach towels, etc.
We weren't totally clear on the fact that the bathroom was shared with other guests, but this was not a big deal. It was very clean and still felt private.

Quirky in a good way.
Mamouska is a sweetheart, very friendly and kind. Just a short 5 min walk to the center of town. There is gated parking and a separate entrance. The private terrace is great but for us the weather did not cooperate. Would be amazing in warmer temperatures.

Superb
Mamouska is so hospitable, nice lady. We ordered a breakfast couple of times, the way Mamouska served it, was very cute. We felt very homy. The beach close by is not the nicest one, but there're few other options close by. Highly recommend!

Pleasant
Spacious light room with large balcony to be shared with the 2nd room if there are guests there. Free parking on site. Good french breakfast with delicious croissant and lots of hot milk. An 8 min walk from Cassis centre & port. Quiet neighborhood (except for the sports fields in the weekend).
Room door has no lock. Frontdoor and hallway shared with host, frontdoor opens/closes only with force/noise. Bathroom in hallway; no hooks/rack to dry towels. At night many mosquitos. Toilet not very clean.

Great place to stay in the friendly atmosphere.
Very cute room in the old French style house with terrace and the garden access and close down the street beautiful beach with magnificent view. The owner available in the place, very helpful and kind. The French breakfast served in the garden

I enjoyed staying in a homey B&B and how close we were to the town and beaches.
The owner is charming and provided a lovely french breakfast and happily attended to any requests. There is a beach right across the street and another down the road a bit. The town is an easy stroll down the street with another beautiful beach. The bus from the train station stops nearby at the "Casino". A lovely terrace for having an evening glass of wine on.

Lovely BnB for visiting Côte d’Azur
We had a great stay at Chez Mamouska, the owner is lovely and extremely accommodating. The room was comfortable and the terrace was lovely, especially in the evening. The bathroom was not an ensuite but we had it to ourself for the stay as there were no other guests. We had a lovely breakfast for 10€ in the garden and the owner offered to do a laundry service for us which were lovely touches. The guest floor had a private entrance and the property was a 10 minute walk to town and only 5 minutes to the closest beach, which all made for a very convenient stay. Thanks for having us and I would recommend Chez Mamouska to anyone
Handheld shower took a little getting used to

Great location, extremely nice host, great experience!
Mamouska was extremely helping and nice. she helped us find parking, let us do laundry and most of all, she even sent us through the mail some jackets that we forgot. The property is very well located, next to the beach, the city center and even walking distance from the magnificent Calanques.
Be aware that there are cats in the house. There is a bath with a low shower head but no standing shower.

Bad
There is, unfortunately, nothing to like about the property. I did a mistake to book it and I had to pay for the whole “staying”.
I was happy with the perspective to have a piano in the room, since I was planning a romantic holiday with my boyfriend who is a musician, but then the reviews totally scared me: shared bathroom, no privacy, superficial cleaning. So I wrote to the property asking about this and it took ages for them to respond. I had to book somewhere else meanwhile. Then, in order not to lose the money, I asked them to change the dates, thinking that I might go back to Marseille in a few months and just try it out. It was impossible to do that also. I don’t understand why this property is still on booking. Of course, I admit, I should have been more careful. But still…
And this lack of communication is totally unacceptable.

Beachfront Sunny Terraced room
Very cozy, spacious room with a large sunny terrace. Access nice and private. The host was very helpful.
It’s a bit away from the ciry center, but this is nice actually as Cassis is very touristy and you are away from all this, at Mamoushkas.
The only surprise for us was that we were asked to check out one hour earlier than stated on booking.com, which thwarted our carefully planned train jpurney a little.

It was very nice
Large room. Very quiet. Very nice breakfast. Lovely terrace
Shower was hand held. We were lucky we were only guests so did not have to share bathroom or terrace.

It's eccentric, but we really enjoyed it.
The balcony/terrace is superb and we spent many happy hours there playing Scrabble and drinking wine, but it would not have been great to have shared it with anyone else as it adjoins the two main bedrooms. Breakfast was very nice. Madame is a great character and very kind - she gave us a lift to the bus-stop with our luggage.
There really does need to be clarification about the bathrooms and the layout as they are not private or en-suite. It's absolutely fine if you're the only people staying there, as we were, but the accommodation floor (which has its own entrance) comprises 4 bedrooms in all (none en-suite), one WC and one bathroom (without WC) plus a downstairs bathroom which is shared with Madame. Two of the bedrooms (one is lovely and big) lead out onto the terrace - which is great and the best thing about it. Be warned, there are no toiletries provided, no cleaning took place during our 3 nights there and the cupboards are full of Madame's things. You also need to like cats.

Not what we expected
Madame was friendly and helpful. The terrace was lovely with good views. The bed was comfortable.. The location to Cassis and the beach were very good. The secure free parking was very welcome.
All the drawers in the room contained the host's personal possessions. (Our possessions were supposed to go in the cupboard/wardrobe in the bathroom.) The bathroom contained the host's personal toiletries. There was no key to our room, although it could be locked from inside. The bathroom and toilet were private, but they weren't en-suite - I hadn't expected that! No TV in the room.

Close to shops and beaches, very welcoming.
Very helpfull freindly staff, nice big room, comfy bed, large shared balcony. Bathroom large and very clean.
Only downside for me was no individual lock on main bedroom.

Liebevoll geführte Herberge in bester Lage.
Nichts.
