Spacious home in Bath, nature and city!

Loved the garden although a little overgrown by the table to sit on. A lovely walk down to the town.

The location was excellent - 20 min on foot from the city and very quiet - the house is tucked away in nature. There are two (or more?) resident squirrels 🐿️ that were appearing in front of the house every time we left out some nuts for them. We found the bedding (duvet and pillows) very comfortable and appreciated the choice of extra pillows, although the mattress in the master bedroom was too soft to our liking. Having a sofa bed was a bonus. In the kitchen there was tea, instant coffee, oil, salt and pepper which is very convenient when you travel around a lot. Detergent was provided for the dishwasher and washing machine. The landlord was very responsive and flexible with our requests.

There were a few things that we thought could be easily improved. A few coffee capsules could be provided to be used with the coffee machine - it seems to be a usual curtesy with short stay properties. Guests would benefit a lot from a clothes drying rack (towels remain damp in the bathroom all the time), a proper size ironing board, a good iron and a new set of plates and cups (a few are chipped). It would be also nice if the garden around the house were trimmed and cleared more.

It is a wooded secluded haven with a lush garden, tremendous views over the green hills, access to great walks, and only a 25min walk into town. There was great control over temperature (individual wall radiators and a portable cooling fan; a well-constructed kitchen, comfortable beds and linens, a cozy sitting room with a grand dame of a settee, and a kaleidoscope of greens out of every window. Owners are lovely and very helpful.
