Absolutely gorgeous views, great lodge, very peaceful and comfortable

The location, the view, the layout of the lodge, the size, the outdoor space, Maggie & Archie went over and above to help us as we were late arriving and was going to miss our food delivery but Maggie kindly met the driver and put our shopping away, struggled to get the TV & hot tub to work and Archie was there sharp helping us fix these issues

Although this is hard to control we were pestered by flies and wasps, if there was maybe a fly trap of some kind hanging from the ceiling this may help a little, we tried to sit outside as the weather was fab but the wasps soon put an end to that We also felt the lodge could be doing with a wee deep clean to take away the spiders at the very peek of the roof and some cobwebs in the lights There was 4 of us staying which plates, cutlery etc catered for but although there were loads of wine, cocktail glasses there was only one glass for a normal drink or soft drink The oven only had one wire shelf so difficult to cook a multiple of foods he couple pizzas and nibbles and no pizza cutter These outdoor space could also be more lit up with either lots of solar lights or one that can be switch on and off from inside the lodge These are minor issues that can all be easily fixed and did not spoil our weekend (apart from those pesky wasps)

A peaceful, restful place to enjoy the countryside and relax.

The property was well located on an organic farm in close proximity of Kelso giving a feeling of being far out in the countryside while being close to town. It very clean and well furnished, comfortably sleeping four people. The views were amazing and the picture windows made it for us.

Exactly as described. No shortage of logs or hot water. Plenty of towels and robes were a nice touch. Good welcome pack and a well equipped kitchen including cleaning products. Super clean and very nicely presented.

Exceptional

This is truly a perfect place to relax. We loved the hot tub, the log burner, heated flooring, and outstanding views. If you're a fan of dark skies, then wait to be awed. When you want to chill at night, the smart TV and WiFi are also easy to use with everything you'd expect; iPlayer, Netflix, YouTube. This made it perfect for entertaining our child. Archie welcomed us and was on hand at 8am the following days when maintaining the hot tub. I enjoyed keeping the fires going indoors and for the hot tub in the cold weather. The welcome pack was a great touch too; prosecco, organically produced porridge from the owner's farm, chocolate and more. The shower is powerful and consistently heats up. The provision of towels, cleaning supplies, kitchenware was spot on. The laundry shed (adjacent to the property) had everything you need. I would like to return again throughout the year to experience the changing landscape, vistas, and local wildlife.

Minor niggle with the shower drainage. But really is minor in what is an exceptional place.

Everything!!! What a lovely stay we had for my wife's birthday. I would recommend anyone to stay here. We met Archie on the first day and he just came to say hello and the rest of the stay was really private. We loved it and will definitely return! Thank you Maggie and Archie

2nd visit

This is the second time we’ve visited hideaway, the first was our honeymoon and this worked out on our second anniversary. We enjoyed this stay just as much as the first time. There was a couple of little upgrades that made I that little bit better, not that it needed it. Great location that was nice and peaceful and just a short drive from some nice little towns. Our children can’t wait to go back again

Perfect spot for a staycation. Amazing views. Nice touch with some Prosecco in the fridge, cookies and tea / coffee / porridge. Hot tub was lovely and warm when we arrived.
