Lovely gite, well equipped, excellent location, great hosts . We managed regardless of downsides

Location was excellent Gite was well equipped and well presented Hosts very obliging

Would have liked a fixed shower and toilet as part of en suite Not convenient to have to go from upstairs main bedroom through other bedroom, to access the stairs…..not ideal . For price would have preferred 4th bedroom instead of multiple beds in one room.we were a party of 3 adults and 2 teenage children who like privacy and so one bedroom with 4 single beds did not meet our needs. Didn’t appreciate that Gite was next to owners therefore didn’t have privacy which we would have preferred . They also needed to go about their daily tasks which is not ideal from our holiday perspective.

I wish we were still there!

Our hosts met us on arrival - they live right next door! They are lovely and friendly and there if you need them. The property is located about 400m (I'm guessing) from the centre of things in Amboise - everything you could want is just a stroll away, And when you want to head out and explore - the road out either north or south is right there on your doorstep (but its not at all noisy - I just mean its convenient!) And you won't believe the vista from the beautiful gardens - you literally look across to the Chateau about 400m away! What a view!

There is absolutely nothing that could have been better! We loved it here. We've stayed at many 'gites' over the years with our children so we have lots to compare but this is not a gite as we know it - its a classy upmarket holiday home with authentic French decor and hostess Monique clearly loves making guests feel welcome with her thoughtful touches in decor and provisions.

Beautiful house and wonderful hosts...perfect place to explore the Loire Valley!

This house was perfect for our family of 5 to explore the Loire Valley and enjoy all the comforts of a modern home. The house is beautifully decorated, modern, spacious, and well-stocked. The hosts are so thoughtful and kind, and they went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. Private parking for our car and rented bikes was especially appreciated, and the backyard was a lovely place to enjoy a snack and a stunning view of the castle. We were easily able to walk around all of Amboise and also rent bikes to cycle to various chateaux in the Loire Valley. I would stay in this home again in a heartbeat and will recommend it to anyone I know planning a trip to the area! Thank you for a fabulous stay!

Breathtaking, one-of-a-kind house in perfect location!

WOW! There are not enough words to describe how amazing this property was. Amboise is such a cute town in the Loire Valley and this hotel was centrally located while still secluded. The view of the castle was STUNNING. Monique and Jean-Pierre could not have been friendlier or more accommodating and Monique even hand-made my mom and I bags to take home. The house was very clean, spacious, and well stocked with amenities. Everything was a 10/10 and if you find yourself lucky enough to find this property available do yourself a favor and book it!!!

A beautiful and spacious property, in a quiet location, only 2 minutes walk from Amboise centre.

This location was perfect for exploring Amboise, very easy walking distance to the centre and the main attractions, with lovely cycle routes too. The local bakers, butchers and grocery shops are excellent. There is an amazing Sunday morning market that is worth visiting, we purchased a lot of our supplies here. The local Carrefour was small but well stocked. Amboise is a fascinating and beautiful town. Clos Luce was a particular highlight. The property is spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We were there during the heat wave so the air con was a blessing. The garden space is lovely for an evening meal or a quiet read. Monique and Pierre Jean were lovely hosts and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here.

This is my all-time favorite stay. The house was so beautiful and well equipped and the hosts were lovely. we loved sitting in the large backyard with the view of the castle and enjoying a meal or glass of wine.

I highly recommend Le Clos Richelieu for the perfect stay in Amboise!

Beautiful, spacious, comfortable “home away from home” with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The perfect location for exploring Amboise on foot, or for a quick getaway by car to visit other villages and towns. Lovely, friendly owners who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Off-street parking was very helpful. I could go on and on… You won’t regret staying at Le Clos Richelieu, it is better than a five star hotel.

Perfect stay in the heart of Amboise!

A fantastic place to stay! The property is beautiful, thoughtfully decorated, and well-equipped. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect--right in the center of Amboise. You can walk to three different chateaux, or access cycling paths easily. I would stay here again and again, and would live here permanently if PJ and Monique would adopt me! :)

In the heart of Amboise, this beautiful, private oasis, was the perfect accommodation for our family. Private off street parking, an easy walk to the shops, restaurants, and Royal Chateau. Charming host, full kitchen, laundry, and a lovely garden to relax after a day of touring.

Best place to stay in the Loire Valley

The owners of the property are your host and hostess. I think that it’s impossible to find a better experience. PJ and Monique are so kind, helpful and have created such a beautiful place to stay. They welcomed us into their gated backyard. As we drove in we saw an amazing view of the castle and an outdoor sitting area where we could enjoy the view. They then showed us the apartment which had everything you would need - coffee, water, dishwasher, new washer/dryer, hair dryers - I could go on and on. One of the things that also stood out was how clean everything was. My mom taught me how to clean - so I really am particular - my mom may have taught Monique too. It truly was perfect. I can’t wait to go back again when we have a least a week to stay. Enjoy!

La vie de château

La propriété est magnifique, les hôtes sont charmants et très flexibles sur les horaires. Nous étions à 5 m à pieds du château de François 1er et du centre historique et à 10 min du Clos Lucé de Léonard de Vinci. Le jardin est très grand et bien aménagé avec une très belle vue sur le château.
