We loved the attic of Orange! There was plenty of for our family of 5. The apartment had everything we needed. The manager was kind, and helped us with everything we needed, and all items were high quality and charming. The parking option was what we needed. The location was excellent. We could easily walk to Amboise castle and shopping. Would highly recommend.

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay here. Claude is a very accommodating host. The apartment has plenty of old world character but has also been updated to a high level of comfort. We were able to walk to many shops, restaurants and sights including the castle. We would definitely return if we are in Amblise again.

We spent a week here in early July, exploring the chateaus of the Loire Valley. It was lovely - the apartment offered everything we needed.

Very good and convenient accommodation. Two flights of stairs up but very manageable. The accommodation had all the facilities we needed and Claude was very helpful.

The property was clean . Claude was very nice. The apartment was well equipped but there were no instructions on how anything worked. The picture of the apartment was misleading as it was around the corner from the clock tower.It was great having covered parking just around the corner. There was no balcony and you could not see the road from inside so no chilling in the evening with a glass of wine watching the world go by. However a wide range of bars and restaurants were near. Our favourite is the only one serving snails as a starter. I can't remember the name of it but it's on the road at the back of the chateau about 3rd on the right. The roast Beef and Duck with Dauphan potatoes are to die for

We had a wonderful stay here. The check in was easy, Claude picked us up from the station in Amboise and his son returned us to the station on our way home. The property is close to everything.

Claude was the perfect host, meeting us at the apartment and helping us find our reserved parking spot. He provided us with a helpful map and answered our questions. He also had a lovely bottle of bubbly waiting for us! The apartment itself was well-appointed, spacious, and close to the historic center of Amboise. We could even see the castle from our window! We had a wonderful stay and it was a pleasure meeting Claude.

This is a spacious and charmingly appointed attic apartment in the heart of the old city of Amboise very near the Chateau. It is well equipped with anything one might need. The host is friendly, helpful and very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Very nice, charming apartment in a historic building, but modern amenities. The location is extremely close to the tourist attractions that Amboise offers (chateau, shopping, restaurants all 1-5 minutes on foot). Highly recommend!

My family and I stayed for 3 night in this apartment in Amboise and it was one our favorite for the whole trip. Everything we could need was stocked, allowing us to use a close by grocery store to cook dinner. The apartment was in walking distance to all the sights. The only thing to know about this place, to me, is that there are several flights of steps up, but the building seemed empty, so it was very quiet. The other bit was the parking space provided was a little difficult to find and in the back of a crowded space. Neither of these things would stop me from returning, it was a very comfortable place for our family to stay. Thanks!

We are grateful to have had the pleasure of booking with a Super host of a Super property. The property is perfectly located around the corner from one of the cutest streets in Amboise. The property itself is comfortable and equipped with everything you need. What’s more, the host went above and beyond anything we ever imagined by not only picking us up at the train station, but by dropping us off for our departure. If you are looking at staying in Amboise, I highly recommend booking this property immediately!

The location is great, close to the castle and several good restaurants. Amboise is a charming town. Claude, our host was extremely nice. He even drove us to the train station.

We loved this place. Claude was amazing, driving us to and from the train station. The apartment is beautifully furnished and well supplied, and the location is unbeatable. The beds are soft, and you have to climb two flights of stairs, but we were fine with that. Great to catch up on laundry. We were a bit concerned that you couldn’t get out the front door without a key — might be a fire hazard? Overall, highly recommended. Would stay there again, and recommend it to friends.

The location is absolutely incredible in the shadow of the castle. Claude is lovely to work with, and we love the view from our windows.

This is a perfect home away from home stay in Amboise. Central location, apartment as in photos: spacious, comfortable beds, stocked kitchen. Thoughtful touches such as sparkling wine in fridge and slippers. Claude is a gracious and responsive host. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We really like Claude's property. The location could not have been better and he even picked us up at the train station when we arrived! During our stay in Amboise it was really, really hot and the apartment is not air-conditioned, so it was a little warm inside. Regardless of the weather we loved Amboise, the apartment, the location, and our stay there.

This apartment is in an ideal location to explore Amboise and the many castles of Loire. It was clean and well stocked. Reserved parking space is nearby. We were glad to be able to do laundry and to spread out a bit after few nights in tight hotel rooms. Claude was very friendly and helpful. Even though we didn’t speak the same language, communication was sufficient and we had no issues and enjoyed our stay.

We loved Claude's apartment in Amboise! The location was perfect and the parking was just a short distance away (about three blocks). Though Claude doesn't speak English, he responded quickly when we had an issue with the hot water. He also picked us up and dropped us off at the train station on arrival and departure. The apartment was a bit dusty and could use a good deep cleaning. Since others have commented on its cleanliness, we assumed it was related to our being there off-season. We would definitely stay there again.

Positive and enjoyable

Good central location for Amboise downtown and chateau as well as the Loire in general. M. Spitz was very accommodating and very helpful with a small challenge we had with the washer. I would recommend this spot to travellers considering a homebase in the Loire

Family of 5 enjoyed this 2 bedroom apartment, with one child sleeping on the couch. Plenty of space in apartment and kitchen well equipped for our needs. Great location for walking to bakery and restaurants. They had a cute little high chair that my 2 year old loved. Nice peek at the castle through the window too. Only a shower, no tub, wasn’t a problem for us, but I know it is for some. The parking is a bit of a walk but I think that’s just how it is in this area. We were glad to have a reserved spot.

Upon arrival we found we had no address and the phone number was no longer in use. A local realtor was able to finally contact the owner who does not speak English so communication was difficult. It took 3 hours to sort it out. The owner is very nice, tried in every way to be of help. The apartment has a nice layout and is spacious and homey. There was only 1 fan and really needed 3; 1 for each bedroom and 1 for the living area. We had laundry stuck in the washer but again the owner came over to help. The area is beautiful. Cross the bridge at night to see the castle light up. We ran out of time and did not see Van Gogh’s home, a true shame as it is highly regarded. Fabulous ambiance, great restaurants, a lovely area, highly recommend the home and town. We were there for 3 nights. Prior to arrival make sure you have the address and contact phone number to make your stay easier from the onset. We use VRBO a great deal and can happily recommend this home.

Perfect little apartment in the heart of Amboise. Exceptionally clean and well appointed. Close to restaurants, Chateau and the best patisserie for your morning petite déjeuner and freshly baked croissant fix. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was traveling with two of my girlfriends for a week in the Loire valley and we wanted a centralized base to do day trips from. This apartment was great. Very clean and spacious and the host greeted us upon arrival to show us the place and the parking spot. We even received a free bottle of champagne! Very quiet and decent sized bathroom (since we were used smaller ones from the rest of our trip) The apartment is a short walk around the corner to the castle in town and you can see part of it from the window. There were plenty of restaurants the street over as well as bakeries and small cafes. Would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

We loved our stay in the Loire Valley and this apartment was a great place to stay. I can't thank Elisabeth's friends enough for the welcome they gave us. The parking spot is "tight" but very glad to have it being my first time to Amboise and not sure what the parking would be like. It is a couple of blocks away, but a nice walk in the morning (coffee and pattisserie?) to get our car. This apartment was perfect for us and can't have wanted anything more.

I would recommend this property and stay here again. Location is great. It is a clean, well organized 2 bedroom with a bathroom/shower that is accessed through the living room so you don’t have to go through a bedroom to get to it. There is a small washing machine - no dryer, but the drying rack works great. Full kitchen with a complimentary bottle of champagne upon arrival. It’s in the attic on the building (2 floors up) so it might be a little hot in the summer, but the temperature was perfect for us at the end of September. Parking is secure and we did not mind the short walk to the parking space but we also were not carrying a lot of luggage. A really cute, great apartment.

This apartment is in a great location, is spotless, comfortable, spacious, and has everything you need. We would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Amboise.

This apartment is above a restaurant and I was worried it would have cooking odors and a lot of noise, but it did not. It is an upper scale restaurant, small and quiet. The restaurant does have a back patio with outside seating and the apartment's kitchen window opens directly over that patio so you can hear dinner conversation from there if you have the window open. The other side of the apartment has windows that open over the street, the street is a one-way narrow street with quite a bit of pedestrian and auto traffic and it can get a little noisy in the evenings. There is no air conditioning so you will definitely want the windows open if it is warm out. The apartment is very cute (better than the photos) and comfortable and the owner has given attention to the little details that make your stay comfortable. One bedroom has a double bed (or maybe a queen?) the other bedroom has two single beds. I used a single bed that maybe should have been replaced a few years ago but I flipped the mattress and it seemed to be better. The bathroom is modern with a shower (no tub) and a washing machine, no dryer, an iron and ironing board. Wifi was okay, I could not find any English TV stations. You have a lovely view of the castle from the kitchen window and it is only about a 3 minute walk from the apartment. I have asthma and am sensitive to smells, fragrances and mold but I did not have any problems here. Lots of bakeries and restaurants and shops in the area. Everything is about a three minute walk from the apartment: Tourist Information Office, grocery store, clothing shops, wine shops. My GPS could not find the address so I used the address of a local shop to get close. I just went into Google Maps Satellite to see the area by using the the name of the restaurant that is downstairs: L'Echanson. Elisabeth Spitz if your landlady, she is a lovely lady and very accommodating. To communicate with her you should know that she does better texting than talking on the phone because of the language barrier, her number is +33 6 40 75 15 99. You will have to carry your luggage up two flights of stairs. There is a parking garage that goes with the apartment, it is about three blocks away and I found it very difficult to park there. I was able to find parking on the street but be aware that the parking police do check often to make sure you have paid. Sunday parking is free and I was able to find a few free parking spaces in the area.
