A lovely place to stay in Cornwall, ideal for solo travellers and couples looking to explore.

The Beekeeper's Cottage was absolutely perfect for my stay in Cornwall, with my well-behaved dog. Jane, the owner is absolutely lovely and very welcoming & I was treated to a jar of her own delicious home produced honey on arrival. The cottage is very cute, tastefully presented and exceptionally clean; I was also pleasantly surprised by the very pretty lawned rear garden (small, but perfectly adequate), accessed via french doors off the living room. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, broadband reception was also great and I could easily work from the cottage without any issues. The kitchen is compact, but very well appointed and has everything you might need, apart from a dishwasher (not an issue for me). Parking is on the road opposite the cottage and I was always able to park without any issues. As I was working for some of my time there, I found the private and quiet location perfect; close to neighbouring countryside for dog walks, but also providing easy access to excellent amenities including a well stocked local shop, lovely chinese take away and fish & chip shop all within walking distance (10-15 mins, or 2 minutes in the car). Surprisingly, there is also an M&S Food Hall just 6 mins away! The cottage is also just an 18 minute drive away from the centre of Newquay and around a 30 minute drive from Padstow, so it was very easy to cram more exploring into my trip. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Beekeeper's Cottage.

Very cosy and lovely scones

Very clean and cosy. Good location for visiting The Eden Project, St Michael's Mount, Tintagel, The Lost Gardens of Helligan and Newquay all in the same short trip. Also Jane made us some lovely scones!

Perfect stay in Cornwall, great location and amazing value for money.

Lovely cottage in a good location - near a lot of interesting places (new quay/ padstow/ fowey all short 20-30 min drives), On the rainy day theres a great fish and chip shop and large m&s a mile away. Free parking. Good sized cottage with all the necessary facilites and very pretty enclosed garden. Incredibly quiet, good comfy bed for a great nights sleep. Great value for money. Lovely helpful host. Will stay again.

The cottage is perfect in every way. Very well appointed, comfortable and beautifully decorated throughout. Jane is a superb host and nothing was too much trouble. We definitely will be returning.

Exceptional

Absolutely loved everything about this cottage, even the garden & wildlfie, it was beautiful & perfect for us & our dog. Jane the owner was so lovely & loved our dog (Rocky) she met us to give us the keys & give us some information & advice of nice places to visit, she is very friendly helpful & we was given tea, coffee & milk to start us off, which was really appreciated after a 6hr drive. The cottage was situated in a great location central to Cornwall & everywhere was easy to get to within 5-15-20mins to 50mins drive (St Ives). There was a great industrial estate near by with M&S foodhall, Next, Mc D's, a resurant & an award winning fish n chip shop (Port & Starboard) in the village. Thanks Jane, we will be back ❤️

Beautiful little cottage

Loved the property and how welcoming it felt when arriving. The host was a diamond and gave great advice about where to visit locally.

The location felt a bit like we had to drive for everything, even a dog walk. Would also have preferred a drive way with having the dogs but road wasnt as busy as we expected.

Jane's hospitality, cosiness of the cottage and its location. It is located near the natural reserve, so you can breath a pur air. You probably need a car to be comfortable. The closest grocery is 30 min away by foot.

Jane is a super friendly and helpful host, very welcoming and accommodating with regards to arrival /departure times. The cottage was cosy, clean, well equipped and in a great location for visiting various places with ease! Would definitely recommend for couples looking to get away and explore Cornwall or for people travelling alone like I was on this occasion.

A great base for a great stay exploring Cornwall. It went too quickly.

This one bedroom cottage was ideal for what we wanted for this holiday. A great space for two as all of the main rooms are generous in size. It is tastefully decorated and very homely. It is pretty much centrally located in Cornwall so is ideal to use as a base to explore all that Cornwall has to offer in any direction. Just what we wanted. The host - Jane is absolutely lovely! She is so helpful, warm and sunny!

Perfect stay

A lovely cottage with everything you could need. We loved the little garden which is now fenced off and completely private with 2 seating areas. We only had breakfast in the cottage but the little kitchen area is fully equipped if you wish to cook, it like the rest of the cottage is immaculately clean and modern. The bed is very comfy and the room is furnished really well with plenty of storage. The cottage feels homely and is tastefully furnished and decorated with lots of nice touches. The owner Jane is just fabulous, she actually made our holiday with all her brilliant suggestions and tips on the area. Jane is so friendly, caring and accommodating. It was a real pleasure to stay here and we will definitely be back. The cottage is quite rural which we liked, we did walk to the local pub several times, it takes around 30 minutes but it is an easy stroll on a nice evening or a 4 minute drive. There is also a Chinese restaurant, pizza take away and a renowned fish and chip shop within easy reach. The bus stop into Newquay is about a 15 minute walk too if you want to leave the car at home. The location of the cottage is perfect for touring around and visiting all the amazing beaches, villages and coastal walks. Eating out in the evening can take some planning at the moment due to Covid restrictions and it is advisable to book ahead in good time. We couldn’t get into some of the places we wanted to try as we weren’t organised enough.

A really lovely & clean place to stay which is well looked after.

House was very clean and owners of the property were very friendly on arrival. I had booked unexpectedly and they were able to turn the property around incredibly rapidly so I could stay. We had a powercut one night and they were really helpful in offering to bring me some dinner and torches. Incredibly comfortable bed and bedding.

The stay was absolutely perfect and if I was being picky I would say that the wifi was non-existent. I couldn't actually connect to the router on any device as the signal was so weak. Might not be an issue for holidaymakers but I was trying to do some work as well as get away for a few days. There were other networks visible with better signal so I don't know why the one for guests was especially weak. Might be an idea to get a repeater to help with the signal strength?
