Fantastic Stay - Walkable to Carrick

Super Stay in Carrick on Shannon for a large family

We travelled as a family of 11. This property has 4 bedrooms, 1 with en-suite, 1 bathroom, downstairs toilet, kitchen and large outdoor covered patio area. This is a huge bonus for this property and is ideal for larger groups. We ate outside during our stay. House is situated across from the train station and is about 800M in to the centre of town.

Excellently situated on the outskirts of town. Very easy to walk to the town centre. Quiet and peaceful location. Outdoor roofed patio area is a nice touch. Great facilities, has all you need. Would definitely stay again. Nice touch was the hamper which the host left for us. Let’s just say the Sauvignon went down a treat haha.

Perfect property for large group. Very close to town centre (5 mins in taxi)

Location: very close to train station. A 5 min taxi into town centre. Host provided a lovely hamper of goodies which was a nice touch. House was perfect for our group. We especially loved the outdoor area which is 100% covered top and sides

Great for a staycation with a big group of friends

When we arrived there was a hamper of biscuits, chocolate, crisps, wine etc waiting for us which was such a nice touch and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were exquisite and beds very comfortable. The sheltered patio with outdoor heaters and bbq definitely topped the whole holiday as we spent most of our time out there. The location is also brilliant, a 10 minute walk to the town, 5 min walk from the train station and a 30 minute drive to Lough Key park with lots of activities.

The only minor issue was that the temperature set on the fridge was too low so when we placed food at the back of the fridge such as eggs, salad etc it froze the products.

Fantastic property

Myself and 8 other friends stayed at the Railway Lodge for 3 nights and we could not fault it. The location was ideal, only a short walk to town and the hosts were lovely too! They provided everything we needed and more. There was an amazing garden where we could sit and chat all night (even in the rain and cold as there was a cover and outdoor heaters) and also BBQ facilities. Would definitely recommend this property.

Couldnt have asked for anything better. 2 minute walk from the train station, loads of parking if you drive. Plenty of space. Outdoor decking area perfect for all weather types as its covered in and very cosy. Host so helpful. Frank brought us coal and lighters for our bbq and is literally a phonecall away so helpfull, will defo be back 😁
