A Holmen Holiday Celebration!

Exceptional stay from the cozy cabin, stunning fjord views, incredible food, and more. Most of all, the folks at Holmen made me feel so welcomed, cared for, and included all the holiday celebrations. Truly a wonderful experience and hope to return again.

Everything exceeded my expectations. My only call out would be some accessibility challenges if I brought my old and broken family tree members. It's would be challenging for them to navigate around some of the property, but admittedly I'd wouldn't change a thing - love the rugged beauty and preserving some of the raw habitat the property is built up on.

My room has a big window looking out to the water and the fjord, very enjoyable. I book dinner (which is a must), total enjoyment, like dining in any top Michelin restaurant in city center. The chefs are very good at what they do. The best breakfast, thank you Hotel Holmen.

it is lots of work to get here. Because it's Sept, I have to rent a car at Bodo and then take the 3 hrs ferry to reach here. Holmen is very close to the ferry terminal. The hotel owner told me that i can fly in next time, or pick up a rental car in the island.

If you’re up for the stunning view and willing to pay for, go for it.

The location is stunning and the staff is nice except the one who thought I was a trespasser when I asked for wifi password. Excellent breakfast.

The comfort of the room, it’s small and lack of amenities, low bed make it difficult to get up and lay down, small room, got the room on lower floor you could hear people upstairs walking, In room wifi signal is not accessible, the distance from parking to the hotel you have to walk down the steep slope, you need to pack your things into small bag, no sauna, so it’s too expensive for what it is.

A wonderful stay ( helped by fantastic weather) in an exciting and unusual location.

Breakfast was controlled and of excellent quality. The location was very very special and good for those looking for something out of the ordinary. The evening meal was an experience in itself gourmet food locally sourced. Very expensive but worth trying at least once.

The room was comfortable and very basic. OK but for the money could have been bigger.

Chilli Days in Sørvagen.

Great location with view on the Westfjord and Å. Very nice and friendly people in the Service. Small place for only a few guests. Dinner is very nice but expensive due to many courses. Breakfast is a la cart and takes time.

A dog was bound to a rope the whole day in front of the hotel. Not sure if he belongs to the hotel but in any case that was irritating. Room cleaning was minimal. Breakfast is a little bit overdone.

Super friendly staff, great location on the sea and close to several great hikes. The restaurant is really special, the breakfast is better than any hotel we’ve been to in the nordics and you must do dinner.

The rooms are very nice but a little small if you have a lot of luggage.

Its a well looking accommodation but way overpriced for what you get. Shower has good power! The Breakfast what we could order was very tasty. But has to be ordered - in my opinion it would be better having a small buffet (this is not negative just to mention it!)

Shower with no curtains, things like curtains in bedroom are not giving a lot of darkness for the night. Really overpriced for what you get in my opinion.

Incredible location, everything is beautifully presented, view from our room was like looking at a painting. Didn’t get to sample the dinner menu (outside our budget unfortunately) but the included breakfasts were excellent

A family business! Checking in was very easy and one of the owner/managers, Håvar was extremely helpful and kind with open arms for a last minute reservation. He even helped carry my bags into the room. He was also a wealth of information about the area and where to fish, hike and camp. The breakfast was phenomenal. Other than the view outside of the window, this was the best part of the stay. Be sure to thank and chit chat with the breakfast staff <3 (=

Unfortunately, for such a high price, which is expected, the room felt very cold and the heater didn't seem to warm up at all. I walked back and forth between inside and outside to reassure myself there was a difference in the climate. and the wifi was not working. For such a high price, little things like this are expected to work. Because of the last minute booking on my part, by the time I realized these two big issues for the one night last minute stay, it was already 2130.

Brilliant opphold. Wooow og bravo.

Stedet var fullstendig nydelig, i arkitektur, farvevalg, mat og drikke, plassering og personalet. Vi fisket i 15 minutter fra plattingen som ligger mellom husene og fikk tre torsk. Kjøkkenet og resepsjonisten ordnet med kniv og skjærebrett, salt og pepper. Selv hadde vi stormkjøkken og våres sublime lunch etterfulgte vi av kaffe fra kjøkkenet. På rommet var det lekre økologiske produkter og i kjøkkenet serverte de rømme fra Rørøs (som er særklasse godt). Morgenmaten var fantastisk og betjeningen veldig kompetente. Vi bodde på Holmen i to netter, men kunne så gjerne ha bodd der i lang tid.

Det var en tynn dyne på værelse som muligvis er et allergi spørsmål kanskje. Gardinene på værelse stenger ikke helt solen ute, men hjelper godt.

Lage ist wirklich sehr toll. Das Zimmer ist klein aber sauber und zweckmässig.

Verdunklung ist nicht gut genug, wenn die Sonne scheint. Dass es nur Ziegenmilchprodukte gibt (Joghurt etc.) finde ich persönlich nicht so toll. Das Frühstück war zwar gut, aber vier Sachen zur Auswahl an beiden Tagen und davon eins mit Ziegen Joghurt, war nicht optimal für mich. Es gab auch keine Möglichkeit einfach etwas Brot mit Butter und Konfitüre zu bestellen z.B. (wobei ich nicht gefragt habe). Es schien nicht möglich, da es ein fixes Menü gab.
