Nice view and room

I’ve mixed feeling about staying here. The room was great and we had a luck of Aurora right in front of the cabin. We also had a bathroom disaster. The bathroom was flooded. The water just didn’t go through the drain thus flooding out towards the bedroom. In the middle of shower! Staffs were limited and couldn’t help right away. Had to wait for more almost 1 hour before we were given other room. It was a stressful situation but at least we got the Aurora show later on.

A place I will revisit and highly recommend to my friends

We love the serenity of the place .. views from our Cabin (waterfront) were great. Staff (Marcus) was exceptional - he made us felt so welcomed. Restaurant at this place is a must try, we came for dinner two nights in a row so we could try the different dishes.

Nice place

The place felt both contemporary and a little spooky at the same time. The bed was super comfy and clean, and the sea view was absolutely stunning. It gets really dark around there, so if the sky’s clear, you might even catch the northern lights!

Quiet former fisherman house in the village of Ballstad. On the harbour, with a very good restaurant with a nice and friendly staff. Free sauna for the guest.

Perfect

A very cozy cabin—spacious, clean, and truly great value for money. Nice view. The highlight was being able to watch the Northern Lights right outside! Definitely worth every penny.

A very nice hotel with an excellent restaurant, well located, and very friendly staff. The room decor was very nice, and the bed was very comfy. The large double shower was a treat

Loved it!

The cottage is super charming - it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The living area/kitchen was perfect for hanging out with friends after a day of hiking.

The beds were a bit on the soft side for us (but that was our preference). It would have also been nice if the kitchen had some paper towel/tissues. Otherwise it was a great accommodation.

Beautiful hotel by the port.

Nice room overlooking the port. A small kitchen in the room, which was convenient. Beautiful decoration.

Fabulous.

In a superb location, spotlessly clean and the bed in the Design Suite was so comfortable it was like wallowing in marshmallow!

The sink in the bathroom was very shallow so if the tap is turned on more than just a little you will get splash back. The wardrobe rail was very high and would be difficult for a short person to reach, also the shelves near the fridge were very high. Not a problem for us though.

The Suite was awesome as a solo girl traveller I felt like a princess, I also loved the cozy and good breakfast. Still thinking about that trip and that place.

Maybe the check in could be just a bit later like at 10pm but otherwise amazing stay there !

Superb!

Very quiet location and personal. We were upgraded to a much larger unit with jacuzzi, unfortunately we did not have time to try it. The food in the restaurant is exquisite. The best of all the restaurant we had tried in Lofoten. Too bad during our stay it rained so hard, we did not get a chance to really enjoy the beautiful scenery

Extremely comfortable with beautiful surroundings.

The location and the comfort of the house. We loved the underfloor heating even in summer. The staff were delightful and the on- site restaurant served delicious and traditional food.

The fact that on the day of arrival I received an email to say there was an additional cleaning charge. We had booked on the price given so we felt that was a bit cheeky. There is an option to clean the place yourselves which we took.

Excellent place for a couple of nights! EXCELLENT BREAKFAST!!!

Excellent breakfast with amazing views! Great BFast host. She was friendly and on top of filling the food. Key was in the door. Room was very clean and bathroom was excellent and very modern. Large TV screen was awesome! Excellent parking. LOVELY place... very quiet room. WILL SURELY STAY HERE AGAIN if in the area. Room is modern ad tastefully decorated. GREAT location. Glad we stayed here. The place felt home like. BEST RAIN SHOWER IN THE WORLD!!!

No elevator! So we had to carry our luggage on a tall set of stairs with no landing. Carry or drag luggage to the stairs was a hassle as the area is unpaved and especially in rain its hard with no help. You practically have to carry the luggage as wheels don't work on gravel from the car to the stairs. Once in the room... Rest was great!! :)

Different vibe compared to pictures.

OK location

Rooms not as cosy as on the pictures, bathroom always damp, no fridge even though everything else for cooking is there so we ended up throwing food away. Really intense fish smell all over the premises. (More than you can imagine as you're reading this review.)

Very good stay, we loved the place

The double shower and its water pressure, the room, the views, the staff, the breakfast, the bed, the sauna. We loved to meet Markus and Luciano at the cafeteria, they helped us with our gluten free meals and were very kind and nice, they walked the extra mile to make our days there :)

The tv has not watchable channels in English, but we could accede youtube on the tv to listen to music or watch a documentary. The room was very clean when we arrived but it was not done at all in the 3 days we stayed there, which is weird for an hotel room. No fresh towels in the sauna and sauna rules are not very clear for foreigns. Reception entrance is not very well indicated. About the smell of fish read on previous comments: it is true, as fish is hanged to dry but it's absolutely not something unbearable, you get use to it after few minutes and don't smell it anymore. You are in a fishermen town so of course you will find fish smell, as in many other places in Lofoten.

Good

The surrounding environment was excellent that was good for sun rise & sun set. The apartment internal was spacious with good design. We reserved an apartment for 2 rooms & one bathroom for 2 couples. At first, we were assigned to an apartment but one bathroom was inside one of the rooms. This was not acceptable. We were then changed to another apartment with the bathroom outside the 2 rooms. We apprecaited the way that hotel handled.

Peaceful stay

Peaceful location by the water, great relaxing stay. Reception and breakfast were served by Marcus, whose service was excellent. Was given an upsized cabin for free (appreciate it!!).

Location may need a car to access and move around for food if you are not eating at its restaurant.

Disappointing

one night in this rorbuer. No water on the morning on the cabin and Réception closed. breakfast included on the reservation but restaurant closed (no breakfast taken). Impossibility to give back keys and make a proper check out. Unprofessional.

A nice little stop in Lofoten

Lovely hotel in a very nice location, view from the hotel is amazing. We stayed in the main building and had a very comfy room, nicely decorated, big and practical bathroom, staff was very nice. Good breakfast with nice options.

Very nice hotel in Ballstad.

Really luxurious hotel room. Food in the restaurant was really good.

Quite a long check in. Several people waiting in the bar/reception area while other guests sorted issues with their room. It was noticed though and speeded up. Lovely hotel but Ballstad itself wasn't for me.
