A house on the Baltic Sea! It’s idyllic in every season. This fantastic 5-star Scandinavian-style vacation home in the Mönchgut Biosphere Reserve is set against the stunning backdrop of the sea, the beach, the dunes, and the forest. The location is almost one-of-a-kind. Our beautiful beach house is just about 100 meters from the beach in Baabe Beach Park, nestled in the middle of the dune forest, just a few steps from the shore. Beyond lies the dune and the wide sandy beach that slopes gently toward the water. Unwind after a busy summer day in your own hot tub, warm up in the sauna after an autumn walk along the beach or in the Baaber Heide—a vast expanse of forest directly adjacent to the house—or enjoy the cozy warmth of the fireplace on a cold winter day. Tips for exploring: using the free public transit system, you can travel from the beach park to the city center and beyond. The island offers numerous opportunities for wonderful activities, whether you choose to go by bike, car, boat, or steam train. The chalk cliffs with the Royal Chair are particularly beautiful. But the “KdF-Bad” in Prora is also an interesting destination. The Störtebecker Festival in Ralswiek offers a great cultural experience. A simple walk along the beach to the Selliner pier (approx. 2 km) will take you to one of the most impressive “piers” for coastal transportation. Explore the “Zicker Alps” or other wonderful spots in the Mönchgut Biosphere Reserve on free guided hiking tours led by park rangers. You can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of this peninsula from above at the observation tower of the Hotel Hanseatic on the Nordperd in Göhren (approx. 3 km). Climbing the hotel’s tower is free.

You can take additional excursions on Germany’s oldest narrow-gauge railway, the “Rasender Roland,” or by boat to Hiddensee, Sassnitz, or the chalk cliffs. Fishing enthusiasts have the opportunity to catch fresh fish in nearby Sellinsee (2 km) and immediately freeze them in the house’s separate freezer. Long-awaited childhood dreams can come true on the “Rasender Roland” narrow-gauge railway network. You can train to become an honorary locomotive engineer on the steam locomotives of the Rügenschen Kleinbahn (RüKB). It is one of the last railway operators to use steam locomotives in regular service. The steam locomotives leave an unforgettable impression on young and old alike. The following excursion destinations are also recommended: Moritzdorf, Granitz Castle, Binz, Putbus, Lauterbach, Cape Arkona, Flint, the Jasmund Biosphere Reserve, Altefähr, Stralsund, etc.
