About this house rental

The Beach House, Shanklin is a beautiful three story self-catering holiday home situated in the heart of the ever popular and thriving Shanklin Seafront.

With it being a mere stone’s throw from one of the Isle of Wight’s best known stretches of golden sands and set against a backdrop of dramatic sandstone cliffs the beach house really is an ideal retreat for you to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life.

The Beach House has been beautifully furnished to a high standard and comes fully equipped. From every room you are able to enjoy stunning views over the English Channel and the surrounding sandstone cliffs.

There is a comfortable open plan living area located on the first floor. The room is cosy and inviting with French doors opening to a Juliette balcony.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an array of cooking utensils and appliances catering for all levels of culinary needs, whether you want a delicious homemade meal, or you just want to reheat yesterday’s take away.

The Beach House comfortably sleeps five in three rooms, plus a cot if requested.

On the ground floor there is a contemporary double bedroom with oak furniture. Also on this floor there is a spacious w.c.

The top floor has a second comfortable double bedroom and a very generous single - both rooms have fitted wardrobes making them spacious and airy. The bathroom is situated on this level which has an electric shower cubicle.

The Beach House has an allocated parking space in a private car park a very short distance from the sea front.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the beach house. Due to an unexpected last minute change of holiday plans I was able to book the property two days before we went. Wow! I don't normally leave reviews because we tend to stay in places that are fine, or nice enough but nothing special, but this house was amazing. We've found that often when places say things like 'beautifully presented' it's an exaggeration, but here it's definitely earned that phrase! Where to start? Yvonne and David are very responsive and helpful hosts, the house had beautiful touches such as the welcome message and welcome snacks, and it was larger than I had anticipated from the floor plan/models in the listing. Beds were comfy, spacious fridge/freezer, nice shower, plenty of information, decently stocked kitchen with enough space to cook for the family, and we appreciated it all being very clean. And of course the brilliant location with the wonderful view - we were slightly apprehensive that the car park might be noisy, but most nights it was completely quiet and it was a joy to be able to drift off to sleep to the sounds of the sea. In the downstairs bedroom the solution for privacy was very clever and versatile: some magnetic shutters on the lower half of the windows with moveable slats, which allowed for letting light in whilst keeping eyes out, and gave the option of completely opening them for a clear view out. We absolutely loved staying here and hope to come back again!

A lovely home to mark as our base for the week on the Isle of Wight, well equipped, comfty beds and lovely little welcome treats in the kitchen on arrival! The shower was a little temperamental at times but we figured it out. We purchased the weekly tourist parking permit for £70 so we coild park next to the beach hoise and any other isle of wight council owned car parks which was a great idea. We couldnt fault our stay at the Beach House! The only thing you need to check is on the email from VRBO woth the booking info, it has the mobile number for the Sunny Beach apartments located next door to the beach house on the email. Thank you for letting us stay in the Beach House, we all loved it!!

Love the Isle of Wight and Shanklin. Usually stay up on the cliff but thought this looked ideal. If you love being close to the beach this is great. So close to the fabulous waterfront eating venues. The Beach House was really lovely, cannot fault it. Clean, layout fabulous and thank you for the little extras that you left for us. Parking was up on the cliff which suited us very well as we dont use our car when we are on holiday. The cliff lift is easily there from 8 to 10. Great holiday.

A short break to the IOW. We have visted the island many times as we have family living on the island. This was a lovely property in a great location especially with Teens as right near all the amenities. We even got to sit on the beach in march. The only suggestion we would make is some blankets would be nice as it was a bit chilly. We would definitely visit again

We’ve stayed before and we always want to come back. With family on the island we like to know we have a base from which we can easily visit relatives, but which is sufficiently homely to come back to at the end of a long day. The Beach House is that. It’s perfectly positioned opposite the beach and near the entertainments. It’s always peaceful and quiet and allows me to either go to the Fisherman’s cottage, the Steamer, the arcade or jump in the sea for a dip.

I have just returned after a short stay for 4 nights at The Beach House with my 18 year old daughter. The property was perfect for us, clean, great facilities and in a fantastic position on the Esplanade. We bought an Isle of Wight parking permit and had no problem finding a space in the Esplanade carpark directly opposite the property. The owners were helpful and friendly when we booked the property and check in/out was easy. We managed to visit a number of places: The Needles and Alum Bay, Osborne House, Godshill miniature village, Arreton Barns, Ventnor and Newport however our highlight was booking an Alpaca walking experience with West Wight Alpacas in Wellow...fantastic fun! Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

We stayed 7 nights over Springbank half term. The location is perfect and only steps away from the beach. We used the parking space at the top of the cliff. The cliff steps were closed so we went along the promenade and up the path but this was fine. Took about 10 minutes to walk. The house is well equipped with all required kitchen equipment. There was a problem with the fridge before we arrived but the owners made sure we had a mini one to use during our stay. Not ideal but brilliant considering the circumstances. We would definitely recommend staying at the beach house if you are visiting Shanklin.

Apartment was just as described right on the seafront great views. Public car park outside the door which I purchased the visitor all island ticket which I would thoroughly recommend. House was in excellent condition throughout from decoration to carpets,floors,beds, furniture and plenty of home comforts too and little things left by the owners which were greatly appreciated. We’ve had a great week staying in this lovely house which was really clean with comfortable beds and everything you needed to cook. Good Wi-Fi and access to Amazon was great for the teens! Lots of nice places to eat out nearby and good walking, running and cycling routes. Supermarket in walking distance with larger stores a 5min drive away.

What a beautiful property! Perfectly comfortable stay and so clean and homely. Cannot fault anything at all. When we got there, we had a lovely welcome gift of chocolates, biscuits and crisps, not to mention, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, toilet rolls etc… Will certainly want to return to the Beach House on our future stays (as we have family there, so are regulars to the island). The check in process was easy and all the info we needed sent before our stay. The location of the beach house is excellent and although on the seafront very quiet. We decided not to use the allocated parking space and bought a tourist permit for the car park right outside the house. This was very convenient as we often used the car during our stay. The house was clean and had everything we needed including towels and bedding. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a lovely stay at The Beach House. The location was perfect for exploring the island. Our boys loved the fact they could literally walk 20 steps to kick a ball/play cricket on the beach in the evenings! The property was spotless, lovely small welcome pack was a nice touch. Bedrooms all spacious & great to wash up in the kitchen with a view of the sea! Recommended TO Do’s are: bembridge, only RNLI station on its own unique pier in the UK! Free to access. Seatown, lovely views. Needles - if visiting in peak season, do the boat trip round the Needles then leave, save your money at the tacky amusement park & head off to the beautiful coastal drive along to Compton Bay. We also took the Hovercraft over to Portsmouth for the day & went up Spinnaker tower & some shopping in Gunwharf Quay. We didnt use the parking space allocated with the beach house & applied & paid online for a council parking permit so we could park in the Spa carpark directly opposite & we could use it in many other car parks across the island on our days out, so we found it paid for itself. (And no moaning kids walking up the hill!) the lift had reopened while we were there but there is a small charge. Communication with David & Yvonne was just brilliant- they couldn’t do enough. We were lucky enough to be staying there while they were in the area so they stopped by with a kind bottle of wine! Highly recommend the Waterfront Inn just 200metres away for a lovely family meal & great service. The boys loved Toppings just around the corner- all flavours of ice creams, all cones & all toppings you can dream of!! A lovely little find!! We had a great time - Thank you David & Yvonne

Great communication with owners at all time. Property had the perfect location. Lots of little things to make the holiday perfect such as hamper, cleaning items etc. The house was perfect, plenty of room for a family and the balcony in the lounge was a favourite spot. Had amazing weather and went to Shanklin beach, Osbourne House and Mottistone GardensWe’ll definitely be back and couldn’t recommend enough.
