3 Bedroom Caravan LG17, Shanklin, Isle of Wight

Lovely location, peaceful surroundings, well maintained community areas and gardens, nice balcony/patio area around the caravan with garden furniture to sit at during the day. Great size fridge freezer, fully fitted kitchen.

We’ve arrived and the property clearly wasn’t cleaned properly prior our arrival. Quite stale and stuffy smell throughout with visible debris on the floors, hairs and stains on the bedding, the kitchen utensils and crockery / cutlery wasn’t checked after the last customers as not clean at all, we had to wash things prior usage. Toothpaste stains on the bathroom sink, dirty stains on both toilets, shower cubicle not cleaned, a lot of dust on surfaces throughout, greasy marks on the kitchen cupboards and the kitchen bin. The carpets are very stained and smelly, pet odour, the sofa and the cushions need a good clean too. The maintenance company is asking the customers to strip the beds, wash up and sweep/hoover and dispose of any rubbish before our departure to give the cleaners a helping hand on changeover.. I’m not sure what the cleaners actually do as it was very dissatisfying to see the cleaning crews work on our arrival. We’ve contacted the maintenance company, they’ve asked for the photos to be emailed direct to them but we’ve not heard anything back… quite disappointing as the area is lovely and the owner is not receiving the service that they’ve signed up for with the maintenance company. We’ve cleaned everything ourselves on the day so we could enjoy our stay. We ran an Airbnb ourselves and we know what should be the standard of cleans and hygiene between each customers visits.

The caravan was cleaned, practical and the beds were comfortable, although not very big . I have never stayed in a caravan before so it is hard to compare. Location of the caravan was nice and quiet.

Personally, I wasn't sure about the holiday park, but again that is mainly because of my limited experience with holiday parks.

Just one thing, the mattress on the double bed , you could feel the springs so a bit uncomfortable.
