Proximity to Festa Du Monte, cable cars and Other attractions. Amazing view. Great breakfasts. Staff has a great attention to detail.

The elevator has a strong smell. The keycards often did not work until the physical key was used first.

There were so many great things about staying at Babosas Village hotel! Located high in the mountains, the heat is less opressive than down in Funchal. The hotel is situated in the middle of a string of small villages and is an ideal place to wind down and enjoy a calm evening. It's easy enough to get down to Funchal if you need a bit more bustle during the day but Babosas feels like an oasis after that. The food in the hotel is superb and they are open for breakfast/lunch/dinner and coffee or drinks in between so you have everything you need just there. Breakfast is really enjoyable as they serve it to your table on the balcony, overlooking the mountains, and everything is freshly prepared for you. My room was beautifully decorated, very light and I was sitting in the garden in the evenings looking at the banana plants (I had the garden flat). For a tiny place, the village packs a punch as I counted 6 other eateries/ coffee shops, one aboslutely wonderful botanical garden (with peacocks and flamingos), two funiculars and the Toboggan rides just next door to the hotel. Not to mention the levada, which you can access after a (steep uphill) trek by turning right when exiting the hotel. Funchal is nice but it feels similar to a lot of other places elsewhere, but the mountains around Babosas Village hotel feel more authentic. I absolutely loved my stay and I cannot recommend this place enough!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right in Monte, just next to the cable car and the Botanical Garden, making it very convenient for exploring the area and Funchal. Despite being so close to the main attractions, it was peaceful and quiet at night, which made for a very relaxing stay. The breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. It was served as a set breakfast, and everything was of great quality. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay, making me feel well looked after. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Madeira.

Staff are excellent and extremely accommodating, very welcoming. Restaurant is very convenient and had great service always. Appreciated all the attention to detail!

Rooms are a bit damp, however likely a product of the climate and weather. The road to get there is bit challenging, and I wouldn't recommend it for new or unconfident drivers, however this is the case for most driving in Madeira.
