It’s well positioned outside of the main part of Funchal - though Funchal is all Hill. The property is old style and very well presented

Breakfast was really good, and the views and surroundings were fantastic. The staff were wonderful, and the room was clean. Happy to hear the house story and cheat chat with the staff.
The lack of air conditioning in the humid weather made sleeping a little challenging at night, with only a fan in the room.

The space has a lot of potential and old charm. The grounds are beautiful and the yard offers a nice view of Funchal. For me, this was generally a good location from which to explore. It’s a fairly short (and pretty) walk to the downtown (about 20 minutes, down a very steep hill) and an affordable Bolt ride back up.
I expect a considerably higher level of cleanliness from an accommodation. Do not stay here if you are afraid of spiders.
