luxuery mansion in the city center of Amsterdam

Beautiful home in a location walkable to many area attractions, shops and cafes. The property description is accurate. Communication with the property owners was a challenge leading up to the rental period, often with weeks of delay between inquiry and response. During the rental dates communication was much improved and prompt. Our main concern with this experience was the response by the property owners when concern was expressed about the cleanliness of sheets and bath towels and general presence of hair. Responses questioning whether pet hair was present on the duvet spread or on the actual sheet and stating that out concern with hair being left on our skin when drying with bath towels had never been expressed by other guests did nothing to rectify the current problem. Being assured that he cleaning person "followed standards" minimized a genuine concern. The towels were stiff and clearly had not be dried in a dryer. Concern expressed with amounts of long hair coming up the drain with every shower and the presence of hair in the home in general was simply not addressed. We have stayed in many properties and concerns happen. This is not the issue. The concern is in the response and lack of attention to the issues expressed. It is a shame because the home itself was lovely and suited our need very well. I would love to be able to rate the property a 5 as it deserves.

This is a beautiful apartment in a very central location with a beautiful view out of the front windows. We walked everywhere. I would definitely stay here again if I ever have the opportunity to go back.

The pictures and "luxury mansion" name make it seem way bigger than it is, it's really just 2 bedrooms and a great room. The showers just spray directly onto the floor and don't drain properly, creating wet floors that were extremely slippy. The host has a ton of restrictions on whether you can bring people back from bars, whether you can play music, and is constantly watching through a webcam, threatening to immediately kick you out if they see anyone not on the listing enter the place. On paper, they might let you bring someone if you ask them, but we texted them and they never responded. Location was great but I felt unwelcome here and I think the host imposed too many neuroses on the guests.
