Short but pleasant stay on route from Calais to Millau.

The stunning building and location. Take time to view the original staircase from the ground floor. The staff were very pleasant. The restoration of the building is a huge task which is being done sympathetically. (There is no current building work). The secure parking was important for us!

There was no Zero alcohol stocked. I would expect at least one Zero beer/lager in 2025.

A lovely place to stay in the wonderful town of Beaugency

Very spacious room with a reasonable view and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was wonderful and the view of The Loire from the breakfast room is lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again.

The location is wonderful looking over the Loire river. The building is totally unique and grows on you with its charm and lovely staff.

They played ethereal music from about 6pm by the staircase which I found eerie but that’s a matter of choice. They hadn’t told us in advance that the hotel restaurant and bar were closed on a Wednesday when we arrived but lovely restaurants on side streets.

In need of renovation

Beautiful building and location.

Shower broken and not functioning well. A lot of dust. So many dead flies in the lamp that it's actually darker. Warm but could not open the window because of music festival. And our son of three years old needed to pay the same 17 euros for breakfast. He ate half a slice of bread and a slice of sausage.

Room was a little tired and there was no wall attachment for the shower head, so very difficult to shower. No plug for the bath.

Lovely building but noisy setting and 'take it or leave it' attitude.

The atmosphere of staying in an historic abbey was good. Room was very pleasant.

Arrived at the hotel at 13.30. No signage to say it was closed until 14.30 or even 15.00. Even when hotel opened I stood at reception for 15 minutes before anyone arrived. When a person did arrive there was no apology-he just said he had been busy with another guest. Hotel states that it has no lift but does not state that there is an old stone stair case from the car park to reception. Whilst not relevant to my needs I note that the hotel web site states that the car park is wheelchair accessible-it is but how one would access the hotel is a matter for conjecture. It is worth noting that the hotel is situated by a very busy junction with motor bikes accelerating at quite late hours. This makes the room very noisy, There is no double glazing or air conditioning. The restaurant was closed apart from a very expensive breakfast which we did not take. This was not stated on the web site or anywhere in the hotel. I understand there have been some renovation problems but this is not made clear on the web site. A reduction in price might well have been in order.

Perfect historic location for an overnight stop, or base to explore the Loire.

My favourite hotel in Europe! Stunning internal and external space steeped in history, beautifully perched above the Loire. Incredible breakfast and very relaxed and friendly reception and bar :-) We'll be back.

I did not appreciate the hidden $ 20 Euro fee when requesting a twin share room, given the exchange rate that bumped the cost of the room into a new category, and at that cost I may well have selected to stay elsewhere, I hate sneaky charges!

Great location, fabulous historic building with amazing atmosphere!

The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful, especially the concierge. The room was quite large and dramatic with very high ceilings, although a little basic, and in need of a bit of upkeep, especially the bathroom, but it was clean, tidy, and the ambiance of the ancient building was lovely. The bed was large and very comfortable. Very nice lounge and bar area. The buffet breakfast was excellent, but is not included in the room rate, and is approximately18 Euros per person. The location for exploring Beaugency is excellent as it is adjacent to the Abbey and close to the chateau, and an interesting walk through the medieval streets of the town.

Quite a lot of traffic noise at night, and in the early morning, as the hotel is on a relatively busy road. It would have been helpful to have the WiFi code in the room, as we did not discover it until we checked out in the morning!
